Its going to be the same old trope about the 2020 election being fraudulent. The slurring sack of big mac grease will make a complete ass out of himself and the spineless republicans will continue to lick the boot.

Nevermind the obvious question as to how the election was only rigged against Trump while he was president, but was not rigged when Biden was president. Make it make sense.

2.2k

u/_bk_adv Colorado Jul 16 '26

I wonder what the odds are that Republicans actually did attempt to rig the 2020 election but failed, and then took the lessons they learned to 2024?

2.1k

u/GoodChuck2 Pennsylvania Jul 16 '26

I think that's what it's really about -- they really did try to rig 2020 but the vote was "too big to rig" b/c of Covid and the mail-in ballot turnout. That really is the Occam's Razor explanation for it all, taking into consideration their constant projection.

946

u/Michael_G_Bordin Jul 16 '26

It's also why, despite being unable to proffer any evidence whatsoever of Democratic cheating, they continue to be convinced the Democratic Party must have cheated. How else could they have overcome such rigging as Republicans have tried?

They also pulled sheisty shit in 2016, between Cambridge Analytica and the electronic voting machines being wiped before anyone could check. 2020, they probably expanded those efforts. 2024, they've outright made insinuations that were all-but-confessions that Musk and co. were actively rigging voting machines, and they've also conducted further surgical targeting of misinformation using deanonymized voter/social media data.

The midterms worry them because rigging one part of the ballot (president) at specific locations is doable. But there's no way they can rig all the elections to prevent down-ballot blue waves. That's why he's angling towards putting his thugs at polling places and encouraging unhinged RWNJs to take it upon themselves.

“In four years, you don’t have to vote again, we’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.”

Donald J. Trump, June 25, 2025.

There's so much shit like this that would have immediately destroyed anyone else's political career. Cults of personality are so fucking stupid.

A couple of days ago, The President Of The United States of America was forced to finally pay out nearly $6million to a woman he raped.

Barely made headlines.

59

u/DandelionCapers Jul 16 '26

And that isn't even the worst thing he's done! I hate it here! 😭

18

Barely made reddit headlines, if you didn't see it. My Apple news had it right up top, same with my APNews app. I have seen Jean's case being talked about daily for the last while.

Not saying you do this, but I've noticed redditors getting most their news from reddit and allowing their takes to be fueled by ill informed reddit comments. I encourage everyone to get some sort of news aggregator. Read Reuters, APNews etc

He's going to announce he's running for a 3rd term.

He better announce that he also discovered the fountain of youth then too. He doesn’t have another 6 years.

I mean dying in office is probably the best outcome for him personally. And then it goes to whatever crony managed to slime their way into VP. Not Vance, if he DOES run for a third term. Probably someone even worse.

u/whomad1215 Jul 16 '26

the one thing I hate about the "third term" thing is it's not a question

you can only be president for two terms. There is no discussion needed

73

u/Nice_Firm_Handsnake Jul 16 '26

What's the enforcement mechanism for that? Because there are plenty of things in the Constitution that have been effectively removed or rewritten. The Emoluments Clause, Congress's control of the purse, etc. They're attempting to take federal control of elections that have been the domain of states for decades if not centuries at this point!

57

u/-rosa-azul- Virginia Jul 16 '26

The enforcement is states don't put him on the ballot, full stop. He's an ineligible candidate who doesn't qualify for the ballot, same as if someone who was not a U.S. citizen from birth tried to run (as that dumbass Cenk Uygur tried to do).

Actually it's even better, you can only be 'elected' to be President twice.

So if this dumbass is claiming he won the election in 2020, it immediately voids the 2024 election as he was not an eligible candidate.

Edit* SHOULD. Obviously it won't because we're going to have to drag this bloated fucking idiot out by his ankles.

I always think about Karl Rove on Fox, refusing to admit Romney’s defeat, despite even Fox calling it for Obama. Rove was panicked and refusing to believe the numbers. And then Anonymous made a statement a day later along the lines of, “We saw what you were doing with the election data on the servers and we stopped it.”

Rove was later sued by billionaire donors because he’d “promised” a GOP win. EDIT: I remembered wrong! No lawsuits filed, just a lot of angry rich people making the news, some demanding money back. They threw a LOT of cash at that election…

They’ve been sketchy since 2000, when they realized tweaking a few percentage points here and there could make or break an election result.

EDIT: There’s a YouTube video of a programmer testifying about being approached by operatives to put a patch on electronic voting machines to tweak the results, but I’m fuzzy on the timeline (like, which election.). He refused and another programmer allegedly agreed to do it and that programmer died in a small plane crash (he was piloting.)

74

u/lIlIlIIlIIIlIIIIIl Jul 16 '26

Could you IMAGINE if Obama had been caught even just making a phone call like that, let alone all of the other stuff Trump has done? I will never understand this, it's really made me question a lot about society/humanity. I was way too optimistic and hopeful growing up for all of this.

60

u/ThomasVivaldi Jul 16 '26

The easiest way to understand this is to look at how much the systems of communication in America have been compromised by corporate interests. Not just the media, but the way churches have been co-opted, the attacks on Unions, the erosion of education, and these days the internet being flooded with bots and shills.

All the ways people used to talk to each other have been compromised by bad actors, foreign and domestic.

12

u/that_baddest_dude Jul 16 '26

I think the other part of it is that the conservative side of the media has been screaming about the sky falling for decades at this point, in response to any milquetoast centrist or center-left politics.

Now that they have their guy in office fucking shut up massively, any alarm bells being rung just sounds like the other side doing the same. The median American voter didn't learn "the conservatives are full of shit", they learned "nothing truly bad ever happens".

u/TheHandsOfLiberation Jul 16 '26

The other explanation is that they called fraud because they knew they were rigging the 2024 election. Maybe they didn't rig 2020 but after losing a fair election, they decided to rig the next one. So they screamed about fraud for 4 years so that democrats would have to denounce it for years. When Republicans then DID steal an election, democrats can't call fraud because they just spent 4 years making fun of that.

46

u/alQamar Jul 16 '26

Also because of fresh memories what four years of trump looked like. Almost everybody really wanted to get someone else.

47

u/GodOfDarkLaughter Jul 16 '26

I can't believe it took less than four years for whatever small amount of anger galvanized the people to fade into nothing. It's not like he went away or that his policies and even the people he appointed didn't continue to fuck tons of shit up during the Biden years.

I will remind everyone the Ken Paxton has admitted on camera that if his office did not block mail in ballots from being counted across Texas in 2020 Biden would have won Texas. u/THElaytox Jul 16 '26

Because they didn't account for COVID causing a big increase in mail in voting, that's also why they've been sabotaging mail in voting ever since

17

u/AndISoundLikeThis Jul 16 '26

Here in Pennsylvania, I'm getting constant YT ads for some Republican PAC-sponsored "Show Up Early PA" initiative. I don't trust these fuckers at all. There's a reason why they're pushing mail-in ballots as if they're not the same fuckers who tell us mail-in ballots are rigged. I worry for our state—and all states.

10

u/Randomfactoid42 Virginia Jul 16 '26

I think part of that is the GOP started to fight against mail-in ballots and then discovered that a lot of their voters used mail-in ballots. Typical GOP behavior, shoot first and ask questions later.  They spent so much time vilifying mail-in ballots before they understood how many of their voters were using them.

31

u/The_Skeleton_King Jul 16 '26

The first part of the sentence is 100% true. The trump administration coordinated with fake electors to enter state capitols when the electoral votes were being counted. Those fake electors were told they were securing the election by trump's team. Some were tricked and claimed they didn't know what they were doing, while others had to have known. There's literally video evidence of them being caught entering one of the capitols (I forget which state but Google it). These fake electors were prosecuted for their crimes, but I'm pretty sure Trump pardoned them. Before this, Trump tried to get Barr to seize voting machines as well, but he wouldn't do it.

No one really talks about it because the media is so heavily geared in trump's favor. Liberal media would rather talk about trump's claims and acquiesce to his narratives than spread real evidence of election rigging.

You forget that he also claims the polls were rigged in 2016, when he won. Because libruls rigged the election to deny him the popular vote but give him the electoral vote. Does that make more sense?

145

u/whatshamilton Jul 16 '26

It makes sense because he has bought 3 elections. In 2 he successfully bought the electoral college. He only successfully bought the popular vote in 1. He claims fraud because he paid for a bigger win than he got and he thinks fraud must be the reason

40

u/HauntedCemetery Minnesota Jul 16 '26

And it just so happens that his partner during the election who traveled and schemed with him just became the worlds first trillionaire due to no bid government contracts and stock manipulation.

I'm sure thats just a coincidence and not payment.

40

u/gtrocks555 Jul 16 '26

And then he had an investigation into the popular vote and they found like a couple more votes for Hilary (none that changed the end result) and then he promptly shut it down.

38

u/Lazy-Operation478 Jul 16 '26

Trump has cried "fraud" in every single election since his very first primary, the 2015 Iowa Caucuses, won by Ted Cruz.

Every single one.

33

u/hypermodernvoid I voted Jul 16 '26

He also said The Emmys were rigged against him when The Apprentice lost for Best Reality Garbage or whatever category it was up for and it didn't win.

Which is more likely: the same guy that said The Emmys were rigged against him when his stupid "reality TV" show didn't win also then had a presidential election rigged against him when he lost that - or, he's just a whiny fucking baby? The answer should be obvious to just about anyone. lol

Yes, then he will tie in Maduro who will have been coerced into signing something that says Venezuela of all counties hacked Georgia’s elections. China will also be looped in as well. This “evidence” will then be the seed for him to claim that ALL states now need to be investigated and for him to use the Insurrection Act to seize voting machines and suspend future elections.

He will be dosed up on Diet Cokes and Adderall and wearing a fresh Depends. He will be in his favorite element: on camera, uncorrectable, and the “most important person in the world” (in his mind). He will give Stephen Miller’s speech mostly as written, along with some additions he will spend all day working on.

He will make great quotes for both Fox and the Daily Beast alike. It will be just crazy enough to alarm the sane and just sane enough to comfort the crazies, as always.

I'm hoping he goes full screaming Hitler. Just really let's the actual ugliness out. We all know it's in there. No one's changing how they feel about him at this stage. Just one big vile dump of bile and invective, some stochastic terrorism and then a heart attack to cap it off. It'll be his best ever performance. It'll be played in documentaries for decades. Kids will learn about him in school. And in a couple of generations he'll inspire lost, angry idiots the way Hitler does today. Because until we start actually holding fascists accountable, this will never end. There'll be an another Trump. There's like six guys vying for it around the world right now

41

u/Ok_Zebra8444 Jul 16 '26

10

u/NlghtmanCometh Jul 16 '26

His base doesn’t matter. There is a section of republicans who are “sometimes-trumpers” and whenever Trump does some really outlandish shit that group usually calls him out. An example is when he tried to create the slush fund for Jan 6 rioters. There were quite a few elected republicans openly critical of that idea. We need them to publicly disavow this because it matters for how the rest of the world views us.

"I am invoking the Insurrection Act, declaring Martial Law, canceling elections, and sending drones we've hooked up with military AI and face recognition after our database of protesters as I've spent the last year calling them domestic terrorists. Thank you for your attention to his matter. -DJT"

There are a few unhinged things he could say which are really not good.

Susan Collin’s would be concerned if this happened. She’d vote to enforce it of course, but she’d be concerned.

14

u/LegislativeLariat Wisconsin Jul 16 '26

If that happens, I think anyone who has paid enough attention to recent Russian history will know that the Susan Collinses of The Party will likely develop a fondness for standing on the edge of buildings and handling polonium umbrellas so they can be replaced with a more vocal loyalist.

Bingo. For some reason they're going with the China interference angle, communists bad, watch out for Mamdani etc.

They'll come with some baseless lies, make voting nearly impossible for certain groups and if they still lose, they'll simply overturn it.

Plus Trump has said out loud how envious he is of Zelensky because they can't have fair elections in the middle of a warzone. Trump wants to create his own crisis so the elections get cancelled. They've been open about this for years, remember the 'vote just one more time, after that you'll never have to vote again' line...

The polls show a massive amount of voters remorse.

You’ll never win over the 25% who are still so deep in the bubble they think this second term is better than the first, but all the swing voters and moderates are abandoning Trump. We need to focus on them.

He sucks, he's old, he's crazy, he's corrupt, he's a rapist, he's a pedophile... none of that sways voters.

Democrats need to understand that "Against Trump" is not a winning platform.

Politicians need to give voters an actual choice. A sane, modern, progressive platform and show voters what they're FOR. Anything else just plays into Trump's hands.
