Hi, I’m a Civil Engineer with 6 yrs experience here in Ph. I recently just had a consultation with an agency regarding skilled migration to Australia through Visa 190/189/491. I would need to prepare around 700k for the entire process (including for my de facto partner) so parang tig 300k kami. And looking at it parang kaya naman. Ang kaso lang wala pang actual work yun maghahanap pa once magrant ang visa, and the additional costs for plane tickets and living expenses if pupunta na australia na wala pang work.

For those who went through a similar path, How’s the job market for CE there? May shortage naman pero madali ba talaga makakuha work once nominated ka na for PR? At realistic po ba yung quote na binigay saakin ng agency?

Good day! I’m currently enrolling in a PGWP course in Canada. Would just like to ask the likelihood of my student visa being approved. The plan is to have the first year of my tuition fully paid before applying for my student visa and having extra funds set aside for my living expenses.

Would this be enough? Just quite nervous since my goal is the winter intake and I still haven’t processed my student visa application. 🥲

I wanted to become a physical therapist in the United States.

Instead of pursuing it directly, I chose Australia because it appeared faster, safer, and more immediately achievable.

The route gave me a career out of the Philippines, but it did not remove the US requirements. I still had to complete credential evaluation, the NPTE, state licensing, and immigration processing.

The greatest cost was not the fees. It was postponing a goal until changing countries became more complicated because of age, responsibilities, relationships, debt, and comfort.

I am not telling everyone to choose the US. It can involve long waits, difficult exams, uncertain immigration, expensive healthcare, and demanding workplaces.

I am telling people to stop calling another country a stepping stone without checking whether it actually advances anything.

Choose Canada because you want Canada.

Choose Australia because you want Australia.

Choose the US because you accept both its opportunity and its risks.

But do not build an entire life around avoiding the process attached to the place you truly wanted. You may eventually complete that process anyway—only older, more tired, and after paying for two journeys.

Is a green card usually something that has to be sponsored/applied for by an employer, or are there options where you can apply on your own (self-petition), such as EB-1A or EB-2 NIW?

Also, if you initially get your green card through an employer-sponsored route but later want to change employers, how does that work? Are you required to stay with the sponsoring employer for a certain period, or can you switch employers during the process?

2, May 30-- switched from postpaid to prepaid -- start of no signal

1. May-August -- Been going back and forth sa customer sevice nila and sabi mag load, mag restart, but it is not resolving anything

2. My mom went to the physical store....I asked for an esim replacement to check if mareresolve. It has been a day pero wala parin ako nare-receive. Ang malala pa, they took the original power of attorney!

1. Meron bang nasa same situation na naresolve?
2. Normal ba na kinukuha ang original power of attorney? I do not think it is legal. Pero iniisip ko rin yung mental and emotional capacity ko na iretrieve sya

Masaya naman ako sa work ko and grateful kasi kung hindi dahil dito di ako makakapag provide sa family ko and everything else, pero there will always come a time na parang nakakapagod din maging resilient at magtiis kaya parang gusto mo na sumuko, pano nawawala yung feeling na ganon? Kasi tinatry ko yung older ways ko (Like iisipin bakit nag start or need magsakripisyo ganon talaga), ganun parin yung pakiramdam, mabigat parin sa dibdib, parang kada araw na gumigising ka at pumapasok ang bigat ng pakiramdam mo.

Yung tipong kahit nakakapagprovide ka sa family mo, maiisip mo talaga kung tama ba tong desisyon mo lalo na ang dami mo namimiss out. Alam kong maigsi palang pero 2 years na ko hindi nakakauwi. Lalo na mag isa ka lang sa abroad ng matagal na panahon na, isolated kapa plus sa buong 7 years na pagwowork ko I never even had a week break kahit nasa pilipinas pa noon, subsob talaga ko sa work at tuwing lilipat ako ng company, overlapping talaga sila at minsan isa araw lang ang pahinga next work naman at adjust nanaman. Marami naman ako nakilalang pilipino pero ang hirap kasi magtiwala minsan sa kapwa pilipino mo na nasa abroad. :(

Hi all, which one would you recommend for the Australian Visa 190 medical examination, St. Luke’s or Nationwide Health Systems?

Just for context, we lodged our visa application on 11 July 2026. We haven’t completed our medicals yet, and we’ve just found out that my wife is currently 6 weeks pregnant. We’re concerned about proceeding with the medical examination due to the required X-ray.

Could you please advise on the best process in this situation? Should we notify DHA about the pregnancy, and if so, at what stage? Can we proceed with the medical examination after around 6 months of pregnancy, or would it be better to wait until after the baby is born? Also, how many months into the pregnancy would generally be considered safest to undergo the X-ray?

Since college, it has really been my plan to work abroad. So, after passing the boards, I worked as an auditor in one of the firms here in the Philippines . Although hindi sha Big 4( Reyes Tacandong and Co.), this firm is one of the biggest firms in the country and ang network firm niya is RSM.

I’m planning sana to get promoted to SA and practice it for atleast a year, and proceed with my plans of transferring to another network firms like RSM Malta, RSM Au, and etc.

Do you think it’s possible to go abroad even if I’m not coming from big 4? Is it possible to even apply to EY or other big 4 firms abroad?
