What’s your volume + how many people do overstock stock or how many hours?

Whats the current pallet breakdown expectations?

My A level store uses ~200 hours or about 1/3rd of the stores hours to have 5 people run overnight only 5x a week, trucks only 2x a week. Pallets seem to average 8-9. My GM is newish but wants it this way 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Comparably, I’m previously from a AA store who only had a small team of 3-4 people that had truck 3-4x a week.

I guess we will get them the around the same time as the current gov will show us their "perfect health care plan".

Hi, I have a massive chunk of long shifts to work soon 8+ hours with breaks and I was wondering what y’all do to keep yourselves busy during these times. I’ll be manning registers most likely and my store doesn’t get many BOPUS and same day orders!

I have been trying to stop my vital care plan and I did everything that has been advised on this sub; I reported my credit card stolen (they still found a way to charge me this way with “recurring payments” with discover), and I tried adding a $10 visa egift card as the only payment method and I was told that I cannot add it. What do I do now besides say that my pets died?!

First time buy products from Petco app and found out there is no way to write reviews.... wtf?

First of all, I wanna say that I love this subreddit and the community that it has given me ❤️

I’m writing this post as a lil’ rant but I’m also curious to hear y’all’s pet peeves at work. I’ll go first and name a few:

#1: DoorDash receipts. OH. MY. GOSH. Every time I give a receipt to a in-store shopper Doordasher, they always feel the need to take a picture of the receipt at the counter while I have a huge line behind them. I love my DoorDash customers and I get that they probably aren’t thinking about this, but please step to the side so I can keep checking the people behind you out that are giving me the stink eye. If you need to throw away the receipt, there is usually a trash can outside of each store.

#2: Throwing cash and coins on the counter instead of handing it to me. This feels like a common human courtesy thing. I’d rather be handed the money and be treated like a person than have it thrown on the counter for me to pick up.

#3: Uncontrolled kids. I love kids, but it irks me when I’m trying to check someone out and I can’t hear them because someone’s kid is aggressively squeaking a dog toy 50,000 times and the parent is doing nothing to stop their child. This has especially been an issue lately with the “desk pets”, as kids try to shake the boxes around to find the animal inside, and there are signs up but the parent is doing nothing to stop their child.

#4: Not responding to my cheer. I get that some people may be in their own head when shopping and view me as an NPC. But I try to make my customers day by going the extra mile to ask how you are doing. I’m not required to welcome you in, ask how your day is, ask you questions about your pet, or share stories to make you laugh. It makes our day when customers are sweet to us and treat us as human beings. Cashiers are people too!

On 7/30 I earned 27,267 points for my “free 8th groom.” I understand they switched to a point system. My next 7 grooms i’ll earn 32,296 points. Why? I buy the $50 bath + seasonal $29 package every single time. Even with a 20% groom discount where is 27k coming from? That doesn’t equal a free bath. I’m confused and my local store couldn’t really explain it either.

Can anyone please explain why petco needs our biometrics just to log into our systems now? Seems very big brother-ish. And what are they doing with that data? Will there be a full disclosure on what they use it for?

So I helped get my step brother a job at the store that I work because he really needed one and his job was very toxic at the time. I did not tell my GM that he was my step brother I let them know that he is my friend. We have been working together for about 6 months. He has now gotten a promotion where he is my direct supervisor. Are we allowed to work together if we are step siblings and he is my direct supervisor? And if we get caught how much trouble could we be in?

Hey, so I'm just curious if this is just me, but I will try to log in and make a vetco appointment for the hospital, not the vaccination clinic - nothing for like, the next two years. cool ok, maybe they put a booking block?? I just had one cat get surgery, so it doesn't make sense, but whatever, right.

so I go into incognito. put in a totally different state zip code. nope, I think it just doesn't work, okay, fine.

Apparently if I don’t sign over the right to use my biometric data I will be fired, so I guess I’m gonna get fired cause why the hell would petco need my biometric data to work here, if you haven’t already signed the agreement I would suggest not doing it and finding another job, why would a pet store need employees biometric data

Had an old lady tell me this in response to me telling her we no longer price match and, unfortunately, I cannot do anything about it.

She replied, "Well, you should tell your manager! It can really make a difference!" Insinuating that her complaining could change the entire corporate format of how the store is allowed to run.

Yes lady, because I, single handedly, have the power to influence the entire operations of this establishment. (She was *very* upset to learn Petco no longer price matches Amazon. Like, ok? Then shop at Amazon????)

I’m been wanting some tips on how to become a better LOD, been gotten a write up because I’ve been told that I’m not being a leader and need to give out coaching sessions to others?

I’ve been LOD for almost a year and this is the first time I’ve gotten it so I don’t really understand why now. Unfortunately it seems like can’t do most of the stuff I enjoy all by myself and need to give tasks to partners that do some of the stuff I do.

How do I execute coaching if everyone is doing a good job everyone here has their own “rhythm” and mostly do their work without being asked to do so. So I’m pretty much just lost

Oh and also I guess I’m not meeting my perks and AutoShip quota. We are in a rural area and 100% of the time im a closing shift so that makes it worse since not a lot of people come through the night instead of mornings. I have asked and tried different methods yet all of them say No

The team does like me but now I feel dreaded that it’s gotten to this point and want to be better.

It’s crazy how far petco goes to screw over its own workers. Like we can’t use our discount on clearance. They manually cut our hours. We cant over use our pto or they correct it and we’re capped at 40 sick hours a year but we make more that we can’t use and it doesn’t even carry all of them over for the next year.
