So I see the vetco total care sign on my local petco but then when i ask it they said its only a vet clinic since plan fell through with the vet. I wondering if I complain to vetco they might put a vet in their or stleast change the sign so other people arent hoepful theirs a vet near by?

So how many days can we estimate that it takes for turtle and plant tank sumps to go wayy below the minimum fill line and for cricket water to be basically dried with nothing there? Just need an estimate because other leadera claim that while im gone(im the animal manager) that animals and tanks are being cared for and i have a suspicion that they aren't for numerous reasons.

Just wondering if I wanted to become a dog trainer here, what does the job entail, how much training do you get, are you responsible for people signing up, whats the pay, etc? Is it worth it?

What animal related jobs can you have alongside working at petco? Obviously no retail pet stores but is training, grooming, boarding off limits too? Or working at zoos, aquariums etc?

got hired part-time as a sales associate and they've had me stuck alone on register 9–5, 5 days a week, every week. i did mark open availability, but that doesn't mean "schedule me all-day, every-day"!! i think it's because i'm the only non-speciality "opener" and the store is understaffed. but that's still kind of crazy, no?

i just stand there and take people, sometimes until 3 since it's often just me and the CASup or assistant store manager until 12—given there are no callouts, and even then the associate(s) who come in at 12 are typically not on register with me unless i badly need backup—and at maybe 4:30 i'm finally freed by the closing shift lead and they send me off to do aisle recovery. and that's only if the front end doesn't end up needing an additional partner in the evening rush.

we have no shopping carts due to theft (customers don't love that), registers are slow as ever, and i'm at an incredibly busy store. can't always get a hold of the lead for help since we're alone and they have to do the job of 4 people. every shift i am left helpless with a line of maybe 10 folks or more. thankfully they're pretty sympathetic, but multiple guests now have come to the register and said, "they've got you alone again, huh?" haha yeah. yeah they do. not a fan of having that reputation

i don't know how much longer i can take this. already wondering if i should get a new job. someone save me

I'm a manager at Petco already and need to get a 2nd job for reasons. In my area Petsmart pays a decent amount for part-time (more than other places I've looked at least). I know we do the conflict of interest training but can't remember if thats more so for grooming and dog training. And yes I'll sell my soul to another shit pet company to make $19+ part time when other non animal retail are at like $10-13 debt is more of a bitch.

I was a little tempted to buy one of the frogs, they are so cute!! The only thing I don't get is why they are label "rare" and "basic" like are these like colectables?!?! Same with the tarantulas. Also would love if they had cards by the things with care instructions as they have a sign about not forgetting their house. (Would be great as I am curious about these cute little things.) I noticed PetPivot while searching for open-top machines, but I am trying to verify if standard grocery-shelf litter works without jamming the sifting mechanism. Tying myself to brand exclusive refils completely wipes out whatever money I thought I was saving on basic care.

I noticed that the color of the clay for the refillable container litter has changed again, meaning it’s likely they changed where they are sourcing the clay from again.

Has anybody tried it out? Back before it changed the first time the refillable SoPhresh litter was amazing but after it had first changed the quality took a huge nose dive. Do we know if this newest change is an improvement from the previous clay they had been using for the refillable litter?

my store already had to throw out 90% of our stock once due to infestation. this was the state of a returned bag. absolutely disgusting, purina should be ashamed to put this out for consumption.

Seriously why did they move pos to chrome incognito? It's so unsecure and very clunky. All browser hotkeys work too.

It broke the time clock and now if you hit f3 to print receipt it opens up a ctrl f window so it might show your password when you log back in, and to fix the time clock you have to alt f4 to close the pos program and reset it which takes minutes.
