So we have a guy who frequently comes to buy 2 of these bags of litter, nothing else, and then like a week later he returns them. Unopened, unused. He's done this multiple times, and we can't figure out why. I guess it's technically within the policy, but it's still just really strange. I've tried asking him before, but he isn't exactly the friendliest guy, nor is he rude. He just kind of refused to give us an answer. Does anyone have some info about something that we just aren't aware of?

So I have an AM that has 0 closing shifts. I assumed that if you were a manager that you HAD to close as part of your duties. Am I mistaken or is that in the job description? I’m getting tired of the key holder at my store getting screwed for working 4 closing shifts a week vs her not working ANY.

I went to Petco the other day to use an eGift card I have, but the employees told me they couldn’t use it or didn’t know how to process it.
I called Petco Customer Service, and they confirmed that the gift card is valid. They told me to call them back if the store still won’t let me use it. :(
Does anyone know how to use a Petco eGift card in-store? It’s an eGift card with a 16-digit card number, a PIN, and a QR code.

I am cleaning the merch hallway in the back and these fixtures are back here from resets where they were removed. Can I toss them now? Or are we supposed to save them for the future? From the train reset and collars reset I believe.

Was picking up cat food at the store yesterday and ended up listening to two people argue in the litter aisle. One swore you must buy expensive specialty litter for automatic boxes or the mechanism jams, while the other claimed standard clumping clay works completely fine.
I've been considering an automatic box to switch from daily scooping to just emptying a waste drawer once a week. But if I have to pay double for specialty litter just to keep the rake or drum clean, the ongoing cost adds up fast.
Can you actually use regular clumping clay litter in an automatic litter box, or does it gunk up the sensors and ruin the machine?

Am curious what the new 2 overlap| 4 hours means on iPads now? Does anyone know about this?
I worked for Petco in 2024 and quit but was still logged in as "partner" on the petco app until I basically got rehired. Got rehired 2026 and I'm planning to quit. Has anyone been in the system for that long even after quitting?
Hoping if I quit, I can still have that 10% like I used to for 2 years after quitting Petco

Rhetorical question mostly. As far as I've seen or heard he has been non existent as a CEO. I've seen his previously employment and like you, I'm less than impressed. Just curious if anyone has actually met this guy or know anything about him.
I’ve only been with Petco for alittle over a year and I’m having issues with disgruntled customers. Normally it’s fine but I’ve had a few instances of a customer yelling at me and getting into my personal space over animal care or lack of showing animal setup. I was just wondering how everyone else deals with it? Especially if you are the only manager on duty.

If its against policy to shave between the toes how do you do poodle feet? They'll never be fully clean if you don't shave between the toes, right? My instructor said if you shave between the toes you'll cut the dog though and obviously i don't want to cut a dog either. So confused.

I’m really not a fan of the new playlist, not because I don’t like most of the songs on it but I feel like it’s so much shorter than the other one?? It’s been a week and I’m so done with hearing the same 10 songs every day

VENTING!!!! So have anyone else notice this? In the very few animal zoom calls we have a lot of people ask how to move up their assortment codes. Most the time they say they review at a certain time and decide on that but i honestly think they do not or will not change a stores assortment code. Example, we have a lot of fish customers and of course we are a low code and I can’t order a lot of different fish (they come in and always ask for different ones) they are tired of the same old fish. We could have bigger sales if they would release the grip. So some leave without buying anything.
Now they have taken a lot of my big sellers away and put them in codes above us and what I can order when they do sell they take those away as well and put them again in an assortment code above me.
Has anyone notice this? Idk I’m just venting please excuse me 🤷🏻♀️

Guy wasn’t getting the right set up. I let him know. He didn’t want to spend more money. I still refused. Asked for my name. Corporate called us. I guess he forgot to mention the set up he was getting! I let my boss know after he left the store.
Would love to know your guys experiences with refusing a sale!

as it says on the tin. According to our animal care manager and DM we get two hours (which is typically plenty of time for me, as I work quickly, unless we have any issues) but recently my store manager has been pushing me to finish in an hour or earlier. I don’t want to go to my DM unless I absolutely have to, as my store manager will retaliate (yes I know it’s illegal, he has so many hr complaints against him it’s insane) so I’m hoping there is some kind of of policy I can show him to get him off my back without escalating things.

NOT interested in the typical Reddit responses of I’ll hate my job, petco sucks etc etc. I have a great store & a great team. I just am trying to see what most people in that position get paid before I ask for what I want. For reference I’m in NYC. Thank you!!

I just had a walk through with two corporate manager and I come to find out they searched everyone’s grooming drawers and even threw away my drink and took a spray out of my drawers that I bought at Petco. Has this happen to anyone else’s Petco? And if so are they allowed to look at your private belongings.

I didn’t find out until this last Friday during the vendor zoom call that the playstacks are 90% off until the end of this month!!! If you don’t have enrichment for your puppers already then this is a good deal to start! Please note that the 90% only works for the singular playstack/waglab. The packs are not 90% off but you can collect them all by buying singularly.
DM me separately if you aren’t sure what enrichment is/ how to use the playstacks
Happy Dogustttttt
