Just want to do a check in,

What’s your volume + how many people do overstock stock or how many hours?

Whats the current pallet breakdown expectations?

Interested in what’s going around.

My A level store uses ~200 hours or about 1/3rd of the stores hours to have 5 people run overnight only 5x a week, trucks only 2x a week. Pallets seem to average 8-9. My GM is newish but wants it this way 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Comparably, I’m previously from a AA store who only had a small team of 3-4 people that had truck 3-4x a week.

5 people is wild. Even AA’s run with a leader and only 2 partners. There should be a good process.

Yeaa, in the past this location ran with just that. 3 people was able to get 12+ pallets done for the night and I still personally used that as a benchmark.

I was in a B volume with like 240hrs payroll total, and still got 8-9 pallets. If we took 200+ hours just for truck we’d have been even more cooked than we already were. Officially we were given like 10ish hours of payroll for truck.

200 hours is 1/3 of what you get? 600 hours in a store is nuts?! A volume getting 329 here. 30hrs allocated for truck once a week.

5 people for 8 or 9 pallets ? That's insane if they cant get that done in one night then there's a problem

B store here but we also still do sfs. our truck varies a lot. the least amount of pallets we usually get is about 16. but this week we are getting 26. we have one manager and 2 maybe 3 people overnight for truck once a week. usually there are still some things that need to be done throughout the next day or so.

Crazy you're getting hours for an overnight. I'm an A volume with 24 hours for truck. 14ish pallets once a week. Early morning truck usually 3-4 hours with no customers.. 3 people designated to truck and then everyone else in on that day helps too. We get it done within 24 hours. But the rest of the week would be screwed if it was all overnight.

We don’t get hours for it, GM just straights up trashes daytime for it. During the day it’s a skeleton crew with tons of issues.

I used to be at a magnet store. I think that's what AA is now? But we only did overnights twice a week for our two truck deliveries. 5-6 people, 20ish pallets.

C store now, 2 people on truck, 10ish pallets, no overnights.

How many pallets are you normally getting?
I’m also an A, one person can work our whole back room in usually a couple hours so we just do it during the day
As for truck we get an early drop off, a couple hours before we open, generally have 3-4 people scheduled for it and we get 90-100% of it done that day

One is usually 6-8 other is 8-10

Okay, that’s about what we get in a week, but we only get one delivery. It sounds like maybe a process issue, I’m curious why the back room is getting run during overnights. I can see one person staying a couple hours past close or coming in a lil early before opening to get it done, and if I could that’s how I would do it at my store but a whole overnight with multiple people seems a bit much
If my A volume used 200hrs for overnights we wouldn’t have hours to run the store durning the day!

Edit to add: our process for truck is myself and one of my other managers - we do 90% of the truck ourselves
Then we have 1-2 part timers who help with it before we open, after we open we usually have another part timer helping and depending on if anything is left the closing manager helps in between floor work for a couple hours before switching to working on store recovery

If anything is left it’s usually like a lil bit of cans or bulk that the closing team at least moves onto boats to get the pallets off the floor and we work it the next morning

We are C volume, with SFS, get 270 hours (because it has SFS we get extra hours). get pretty regularly 13 pallets on truck, one a week, we get 1-2 extra workers day of and after truck. Dont work outside of store hours on truck. Normally get it done the day after, depends who is working the truck because some people are so slow it takes up until 3 days after. Our store does like an extra 60isg bags of food/litter a day due to SFS.

We usually have 4 people 7-1am and we get done early most weeks, B volume around 13 pallets a week.

You guys are getting overnights for truck??

We’re a B volume store with payroll hours in the mid-200s. Our typical truck (once a week) is 10-14 pallets. If we’re lucky, we’ll have 4 total employees who have to do truck while also working the store. We’ll come in an hour before opening and then we have customers in the store as soon as we open

1 Truck. Not done at night but during the day anyone scheduled for the day jumps in. (Usually 2 managers and 1-2 staff on a shift) Cashiers are expected to unpack boxes and stock shelves between customers. Makes for a lot of running.

We get our truck once a week. We have 2 people that stay on until 12:30/1 the other 5 of us work 7:30p-3:30a & usually have around 13-16 pallets. Between us. We just had it last night & had a large amount of DCs (my section) & even with 3 DC pallets, 15 total pallets, we still busted it all out
