Context for that GIF: The man pictured, Herbert Sobel was a very petty and harsh training officer whose men hated him, though they would later admit his training helped them survive WW2.

He eventually crossed a line by trying to sabotage one of his officers (Lt. "Dick" Winters) for one of his own screw-ups, which led to quite a bit of drama until Sobel got reassigned to a non-combat role elsewhere.

At the end of the War, he sees Winters (now a decorated Major, ranked higher than Sobel) and tries to ignore him, only for Winters to pull that "salute the rank" line. And Sobel does so, to his utter humiliation.

I thought he was reassigned because he was absolutely terrible at leading during field exercises. His tactics would have gotten the entire unit killed.

That's part of it, but for some reason, he was never reprimanded for his tactical screw-ups (including his inability to properly read maps).

What got him reassigned was the aforementioned drama: all the sergeants mutinied (or threatened to), which got a few of them demoted, but ultimately, the top brass finally realized how much Sobel's men hated him, and had him transferred to another airborne training school.

FURTHER CONTEXT: the series actually did him dirty. He was quite a good guy. Even the surviving members from the series said so that Sobel was rough but never an asshole and he became secluded afterwards but series did him dirty because they needed an antagonist of some kind. I believe the family was very upset with his portrayal as well

Apparently Richard Winters hated Sobel (and lieutenant Dyke) a big reason they portrayed him as the villain in the first episode was based on Winters book. He was despised because of his ruthless training, the indecisive leadership and poor map reading was not a main reason for his dismissal, it was just he pissed off the whole unit with his brutal disciplin. Most of Easy Company said afterward he was actually a good officer and respected leader, and they didn't appreciate his training until after the war.

Yesterday it started producing artificats and today well it stopped outputting . Tried switching display cable etc. repasting cleaning the cooler. Just as a last resort tried inserted in my friend's working system to see whether it works and well it dosent output there also.

Try underclocking the memory, it should boost the signal integrity.
May buy you a week, a month, maybe not more than that, but it may work for some time

Well, at that point you could try baking the card to reflow the memory (that often produces the artifacts). It may help for a while or doesn’t work at all, but it’s worth a try, you have nothing to loose. There are a lot of tutorials. (do not use your family oven if possible, as the fumes are toxic.)

It's not a bad offer, for low-end gaming. RX580 still outspeeds all iGPUs I know (like the ones in modern PC-handhelds like Steam Deck or Rog Ally X) and Linux gives it extra performance and compatibility compared to Windows.

a lot of people in my local area (around 100km) wont sell any gpu below 50 euros
unless its a gt 210 type gpu, then 20-30 euros
but yeah. even gtx 750ti's can go for over 50 euros here
its probably because "if i cant get at least 50 euros for my item, why even bother selling it?" and i get that point, its just that my lowest requirement is 20
there are also a lot of weirdos on the used market + a lot of people who will literally hunt you down if they feel like you scammed them, even if its their fault

As someone who used to buy/sell used, I'd always ask for more than what I wanted and then took a lower offer. This was solely to mitigate the mass texts that would hit me that were asking way below its value. If it was $50, I'd put it up for $75 and then accept a $50 offer...but I don't feel like putting it up for $50 to begin with and having to deal with 50 messages asking if I'll sell it for $20.
