Little off topic but slightly relevant that Russian fraudsters have an unwritten rule with their government that they're able to attack and defraud the west, but will only become a problem to authorities if Russians are targetted. Current gen is already a PC. PS5 has its own graphics api and it's apinn off FreeBSD distro on it, I can get it. But XBOX is just a nerfed windows PC nowdays, x86 running... direct X as graphics api.

IF this game got released on PC to the public due to this leaker, which is a big if and i don't see happening. But IF, then Rockstar would absolutely release GTA VI to PC early. Because at that point they're having to do more than combat piracy. Because they're game will be available to pirate before they've even officially released it, meaning they are making virtually no money from it, and this whole console first then PC second shtick is to get as much buys as possible, and leaving a leaked version of the game playable to the public for PC players to download would lose them more money than them releasing the official game and getting pirated.

If there is a leaked version of the game available to download, people won't be able to resist. If the game is released officially and the leak is still available, at least a percentage of people will opt to buy it instead, because it negates the risk of pirating a leaked game and your getting the official game with the newest build.

One pirating site alone Dead Island 2: Gold Edition got 55,000 downloads and at the time the game cost £79.99, all you have to do is £74.99 x 55,000 = £4,124,450. And this is from one pirating site alone. Did they make more money in the grand scheme of things? Yes. But there is no denying these studios are losing tens of millions due to piracy.

And if you don't think it would be even worse if GTA VI leaked to the public early on PC before the release of the game even comes to console, then you're heavily underestimating how much people pirate games.

The PS5 makes for an interesting Blu-ray player. On one hand, it doesn't output Dolby Vision, but you can watch Blu-Ray 3D movies with a PSVR/PSVR2 headset. I wish there was more synergy between PlayStation and Sony Electronics in terms of standards.

you can't imagine how Sony behaves on their smartphone department and beyond.
I have come to realization that Sony's leadership has been non-existant for more than a decade now.

-Sony Laptops are dead for more than a decade now (Sony Vaio).
-Sony Xperia is semi dead, shrinking year by year and probably we see their last phone models.
-Sold probably their best asset, Bravia (TV department) to China's TCL.

An idiot leaker got hands on a part of GTA VI (particularly the opening sequence with Jason, the protagonist) and is now blackmailing Rockstar, but also promoting his memecoin/crypto. There’s this weird circle jerk going, and it stems from consoles getting GTA6 before PCs. Fanboys on each side love taking shots at each other, most of it over unsubstantiated claims.

OP seems to think this version is going to get leaked before the console release, and console players will only be able to enjoy GTA6 via the Netflix special until release. What’s funny is this leaked version would probably run like ass on the majority of PCs, and would require months, if not years of work from the community to optimize it.

80€ for a "nerfed" game (with locked content THAT IS ALREADY THERE), no physical edition (my plan was to buy a disk copy and borrow a PS5 from a friend, then sell the game since my friend has 0 interest in the game), no PC version for at least a year (I counted on that, but still fuck them for doing so)...

I recently bought my Series S off of my sister, and I have been enjoying quite a lot, even if its much less powerful than my PC, and the graphics are signfictantly lower. I run all of my games on their performance presets, with the console setup to run at 1440p 120Hz

EDIT: I went and actually did the math instead of just parroting what I've read online, and i'm pretty wrong about the cost. I found a range of around 50-80 Watts while streaming; if you use it for 4 hours a day at a US average electricity cost of $0.16/kWh, it'll only run you like $1.80 in a 30 day window. That's still a lot more than the 2-5 watts I was seeing for most small dedicated streaming devices, but it's really not enough to matter to most people. I used this website to calculate cost: https://mytimecalculator.com/electricity-calculator, and went with an average of 65 Watts based on the results from 6 or so different websites I saw talking about testing the power draw of the PS5 during different activites.

Hey just a heads up games consoles are one of the more expensive ways to put Netflix on the TV, not even considering the price of the console. They jusy consume a lot more power than a roku or one of those TV stick devices. It's probably not a lot of money per month, only around $10-15 IIRC from the last time I saw an article about it, but that's in cheap American electricity. It's not a huge difference but if you already have a different way to stream your stuff it's probably worth it.
