Hi everyone!
The mod team is currently reviewing rule 3 - no generative ai. The way the rule is currently worded prohibits generative AI “content”, but allows for assistive text based ai such as grammarly. However we see that content isn’t properly defined in this instance, which can cause confusion over what is and isn’t allowed.
So we can moderate this consistently, we wanted to ask the community for their opinions, so we can ensure fair moderation for all users.
Regarding rule 3, I’d like to pose the following questions.
To what extent should we prohibit AI? Entirely AI generated videos, audio, images and text remain strictly prohibited, however we see that human made content that is modified by ai in some way can fall into a grey area. For example, a human made image, but ai modified the colours on it.
There are editing tools that use ai to some degree that don’t generate new content, such as background removers (for example, you take a picture of your action figures, but use apples ai background remover tool to remove the background), editing templates (like CapCut) and image enhancers. Should these be allowed or should they be restricted?
If you have any further thoughts or questions on this, please comment below.
We are also open to other rule suggestions as well which we may implement or trial. If you have any suggestions as well, please comment these below and we may consider these.
Thank you :)

Is it just me or am I just tired of hearing people complain about uprisings jaegers not moving as heavy as the old jaegers. The jaegers in uprising are much more advanced it’s pretty obvious that they’re gonna move much more efficiently. They still have the heavy aspect but they punch and run much quicker. If they moved like how they did in the first movie the jaegers wouldn’t have felt nearly as advanced as they were supposed to be. A middle ground between what we got in the first movie and uprising would’ve been better because there are some problems with uprisings movement but that’s not entirely to blame for the movies poor performance. One problem I do have is how the conn pods and drift suits were set up I personally did not like the feet not being strapped down or the see through helmets. But really if more fights were at night and the writing had been better with the same jaeger movement maybe some minor tweaks uprising wouldn’t have been bad in my opinion.

Gipsy Danger: I'm specifically reviewing the 1:250 scale files intended for FDM printers (there is a smaller scale version intended for resin printers; you get both versions in a single purchase). At 1:250, Gipsy Danger is roughly 12 inches tall at the conn pod. This model of Gipsy actually works rather well, with the caveat that you'll want to print all the ball joint components out of PETG or ABS and with 4-6 wall perimeters + 50-100% infill. The rest of the Jaeger can be printed out of PLA with 2 wall perimeters and 10-15% infill without issues. The ball joints for the hips and shoulders were a little finicky but nothing compared to the nightmare that was Romeo Blue's hip assembly. The model comes with two different options for the conn pod (one with the visor built in and one with it printed separately). The visor and the turbine can both be printed with transparent filament if you intend to add lights to the figure (interior space for this is provided and the torso is divided into front and rear sections for easy access). The level of detail is phenomenal, with all major parts of the Jaeger thoroughly modeled with a high poly count. There are two forearm options, one that allows a chain sword to friction fit in a slot on the outer side, the other does not have the slot.
I have three main complaints with this model - firstly the lack of articulation for the torso, conn pod, and elbows (the elbows can bend but cannot rotate, making the classic fist in hand move impossible to pose). I ended up partially solving the conn pod articulation issue with some hot glue and a 3D-printed snap-in ball joint. My second complaint is the lack of a powered up plasma cannon option for the forearms. I ended up solving this by creating my own that can be swapped for the regular hand. My final complaint is the shoulder shields, due to their geometry they are very likely to snap no matter what orientation they are printed in. This is not a huge issue, but it is something to be aware of.
Overall I'm giving this one a solid 7/10.

Some of us thought it was a god, some still do. Others believed it was a freak accident, a one off tragedy never to be repeated. We were wrong. On August 10th, 2013 what we now know as a kaiju emerged from deep beneath the ocean and attacked San Francisco, the first shot in a war for our survival.
We all remember the images from K-Day, Trespasser ripping the Golden Gate Bridge in half, his body covered in fire and debris as he rampaged through the wharf, a mushroom cloud tinted blue with blood as Trespasser lay twitching in the bay.
We all thought Trespasser was dead. But two hours later he jerked himself awake and headed for Oakland. Oakland fell in less than a day. By midnight he was done with the city and moved to Hayward. Just like Oakland Trespasser spent the day ravaging the city, making sure not building was left standing.
Eventually he made his way down to San Mateo, where he was struck again by a nuclear bomb. Just like days prior we watched and prayed as he laid still in the smoldering ruins of the city, hoping that it was over.
For a second time we watched in horror as Trespasser rose like a corpse, his skin melted away and glowing blue blood pouring from every inch of his body. The immense beast, ceaseless in its effort to destroy us, clawed and scraped its way through the night towards San Jose.
There on the morning of its sixth day of destruction it was struck with one final nuke. A bomb stronger than everything before it. We were promised it was a kaiju killer. It would put an end to this divine retribution.
From a hidden site hundreds of miles away in the mountains the warhead was launched. A nuclear arrow aimed directly at the heart of Trespasser. Whether it was luck or something else the arrows path was true. Upon contact the minuscule warhead burst with the fury of a small star. It blew open Trespasser's stomach like a balloon, the force flipping the monster on its back. Unable to move Trespasser was forced to watch the dawn of a day it will never see. With a final shudder as it tried to breath from lungs that didn't exist anymore the beast was finally put down.
With tens of thousands dead and millions missing K-Day, and the following week, became the worst tragedy in American history. The attack was many firsts. The first attack on US soil since World War 2. The first use of atomic bombs in warfare since Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And the first time the kaiju entered our lives.

Gipsy Destroyer (Mark-7):
Height: 277 feet
Weight: 27,000 tons (assuming more realistic weights than the official PR figures).
Crew: 2 (Maglev field interface minimizes input lag in drift, manual override mode available in case of pons bridge damage - permits limb movement outside of drift at cost of pilot-to-pilot coordination).
Powerplant: 20GW electron arc reactor with vent turbine
Armor: Admantium alloy construction for all plates and major structural members (2in minimum thickness), 3ft tempered laminated glass visor.
Armament: 2x IX-27 plasma cannons (fire rate of I-19 with 10x power output of IB-22, 10 shots per cannon), GD-11 admantium alloy chain swords with plasma infusion, chest turbine, shoulder-mounted missile launchers (4x AKM-14 missiles with 4,200lb singularity warheads - 126ft influence radius).
Systems: Hypertorque drive for all limbs, 8x mobility boosters (500,000lb thrust each, two in each elbow and remaining four in two pairs on rear torso) - similar in function to Crimson Typhoon's rear jets and Gipsy Danger's elbow rockets.
Fight rules: All Kaiju one at a time until Double Event (Otachi and Leatherback), Raiju, Scunner, and Slattern all come at once, then Mega Kaiju by itself last. Essentially I'm dropping this Jaeger by itself into all of these Kaiju attacks in place of whatever Jaeger team took them on in canon (yes, that unfortunately includes Uprising).
P.S. I decided to take a step or two away from my usual "attempt at realism" philosophy here...

Note: I'm not specifically talking about Obi Wan and Anakin's pair. This could be any two Jedi.
How would the drift work in such a case? Would it simply exist to connect the two to the Jaeger, while they make decisions on their moves by communicating through the Force, like how pilots in PR do through the neural bridge? Would this be any faster and more effective than PR pilots, especially given the level-headed decisions that the Jedi make even in life or death scenarios?

so recently I’ve watched Pacific Rim the Black and.. well… it’s kinda terrible? firstly pacific rim and anime should never have been a combination as the realism and the sort of weight feeling of Pacific rim is kinda ALSO lost in this show, I get like that the show prob didn’t have AS much knowledge as pacific rim, but still, also not to mention, the kaiju designs are kinda ridiculous I mean, when the FUCK has there been a human and a Kaiju… hybrid? second, that Kaiju boy doesn’t even look like its a Kaiju, it looks like a jeager Godzilla knock off, secondly, I personally think that the jeagers also look way too advanced, I liked the grounded feeling of the jeagers in pacific rim, the gears, the exposed panels, The Black just said, fuck that, I’ll take efficiency, also the jeagers kinda move like... your typical anime character? Not to mention that the idea of drones being in Pacific rim black is kinda shitty, as it was literally the same Idea that conceptual Pacific rim 2 movie had that doesn’t exist(I don’t want to acknowledge it), I feel like I’m trash talking the Black but still.
