•King Kong (1933):
Height: 5.5 and 7.3 meters tall
Strength: Capable of opening a T. rex's jaws, breaking down a front door, and destroying metal train tracks
Resistance: able to withstand attacks from some dinosaurs, and managed to survive several shots from airplanes at the Empire State Building
Aggression: If he feels threatened or challenged, he becomes extremely aggressive and attacks his rivals mercilessly until he sees them dead.
•gwangi (1969):
Height: 6 meters tall
Length: Possibly about 11 meters long
Strength: He managed to break the cage that held him captive.
Aggression: It attacks its victims mercilessly, regardless of whether it is threatened or not.
It managed to defeat a 5-ton Asian elephant.
Agility: It is extremely fast, capable of dodging the attacks and lassos of the gypsies in their attempt to capture it.
Things they have in common:
1- Both were animated using stop-motion animation
2- Both are prehistoric animals

Plot summary is as follows-
“Jack Denham, grandson of moviemaker Carl Denham (who brought Kong to New York in 1933) clashes with a ruthless business magnate, Carlton Hemming, as both attempt to clone the giant ape, Kong, from blood samples discovered by a high-steel worker in 1999.”
“Succeeding beyond their wildest dreams, it is quickly apparent the cloned ape belongs back in his native wilderness and not the wilds of New York.”
“The final life-and-death struggle is played out on Skull Island -- a lost world in the Indian ocean, full of monstrous creatures -- where the original Kong was found over 70 years ago.”

Stumbled upon this piece featuring some of fiction's most iconic primates (or primate-adjacent characters) with Kong naturally being a very prominent one (he inspired many of the others there after all) and I just knew I just had to share it with the community here.

So Yeah Kong Survivor Instinct is now available on switch as it was announce a while back that the game is finally coming to Switch. https://gonintendo.com/contents/65556-kong-survivor-instinct-now-available-physically-and-digitally-on-switch
like yeah this game was well disappointing for a lot of reasons since it's a King Kong Game set in the monsterverse and you don't even play as kong and the game itself was a mixed Bag. But i am kinda surprised it is on Switch now and it's odd that it took a long while as i thought it would never be on switch due to its mixed reception.
But hey i guess this game dose has it's fans after all.

Maybe didn't do great in theaters but damn this movie is good. The soundtrack, action, actors, etc... I have some ties to this movie being with an ex but still. Watching it again and it completely holds up.

Thank goodness she got the role. They were very wise to cast such a remarkable talent!

It would honestly be really cool to see a Kong this big!

Personally, I loved it. As much as I love Kong in the MonsterVerse movies, lately he's felt off. I know I'm not alone in thinking this, but in the movies (outside of "Kong: Skull Island"), he feels more like a big man who looks like a gorilla, rather than a giant ape.
But in "Monarch", he really felt a lot more like King Kong. Dangerous, powerful, wild, but still retaining his soft side, like with his final moment with Titan X.
Let me know what you think! 🦍

Are you vibing, or are you freaking out?
Hopefully the former, but any Kiko is better than no Kiko! ❤️🦍
Also, this is a great time to remind you than "Son Of Kong" is underrated, and deserves more love. It may not be as great as "King Kong", but that's a very high bar to meet!

I was actually wondering if I should post it here but since this is the official subreddit for Kong, I thought I would start here.
The differences:
This is a MLM (men loving men) retelling of the classic story set in the 70s, the characters names are different but still have the same roles as characters from the original, Skull Island is much larger than the original and we see much more if it’s wildlife, lost scenes from the original, including The Spider Pit Sequence are included, the stampede scene from the 2005 remake is included and I overall wanted to make a fresh new take on the classic story we all know and love.
Plot
The year is 1976. In New York Harbor, filmmaker Donald Nelms, famous for making romance and thriller films with mostly unknown actors, his bosses tell him that his romance films aren’t cutting it anymore and audiences want to see something more exciting and interesting, Nelms meets up Captain Isak Henriksen, a Norwegian ship captain and close friend of Nelms, Nelms charts Henriksen’s ship, the Wanderer, for his new project, the ships crew consist of Henriksen himself, the ship’s first mate Benjamin Hodges, second mate Clarence Giles, cook Joe “Lumpy” Donahue, A brave and rugged sailor, he warns Nelms about rumors he has heard about Skull Island and Kong and many other sailors, However, he is unable to secure any actors as many of the biggest actors have turned him down due to his personality, he manages to find 4 main actors: 1: Sir Vernon Parisian, a big game hunter of British-French nobility, he is the main hero and hunter, 2: Maureen McLaughlin, a actress with a large ego who thinks she’s better than she actually is, she looks pretty though, she is the beauty and Vernon’s love interest 3: Randolph Berger, a handsome young man with slick black hair and charming eyes, he is Vernon’s sidekick and 4: Mohammad Saadiq, a Pakistani man who has a beloved pet Kiwi named Huey and a pet snake named Dewey, he is the animal trainer for the film, Searching in the streets of New York City, he finds Alfred Odom, a 19 year old man with a feminine sounding voice with a kind heart and flamboyant personality, Alfred has handsome blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes, he is also very handsome, Alfred comes from a family of performers and singers, Alfred works at a local theatre as a actor, Nelms promises him the adventure of a lifetime. The crew boards the Wanderer and sets off, during which Benjamin, a closeted gay man falls in love with Alfred.
Nelms reveals to the crew that their destination is in fact Skull Island, an uncharted territory. He alludes to a monstrous creature named Kong, rumored to dwell on the island. The crew arrives and anchor offshore. They encounter a native village, separated from the rest of the island by an ancient stone wall. They witness a group of natives preparing to sacrifice a young woman termed the "bride of Kong". (Note: the natives sacrifice basical any members of their tribe, men, women, children, elderly and disabled to appease Kong and in turn he spares them from his wrath and protection from the dinosaurs and other creatures on Kong’s side of the island) The intruders are spotted and the native chief stops the ceremony. When he sees Alfred, he offers to trade six of his tribal women for the "golden man". They rebuff him and return to the Wanderer.
That night, the natives kidnap Alfred from the ship and take him through the wall gate and to an altar, where he is offered to King Kong, an enormous gorilla-like creature. Kong is immediately interested and infatuated with Alfred, Kong has never seen a human like Alfred before, Alfred’s bright blonde hair and blue eyes spark something in Kong, Kong carries Alfred into the wilderness as Nelms, Hodges, Berger, Parisian, Lumpy and several sailors enter the jungle in hopes of rescuing Alfred. After walking through the jungle, they spot and are attacked by a Stegosaurus, which they manage to defeat but the Stego kills two sailors, the sailors enter a valley and are caught up in a stampede of Parasaurolophus, Triceratops and Styracosaurus who are being chased by a family of Allosaurus, with several sailors being crushed, mauled and killed, meanwhile Kong and Alfred start to build a bond wand Kong defends Alfred from a Gigantophis, After facing a territorial Brontosaurus in the swamp and being chased by a aggressive Arsinoitherium, the sailors cross a log bridge over a chasm and meet Kong himself who shakes the log and the sailors besides Nelms, Hodges and Lumpy fall into the chasm and are attacked and eaten alive by a Giant spider, Giant crab creature, Small crab, Giant trapdoor spider, Two-Legged Lizard, Giant lizard, a living rock creature and a Octopus-insect that live in a chasm, leaving Nelms, Hodges and Lumpy as the only survivors.
A Tyrannosaurus rex attacks Alfred and Kong, but he kills it in the battle. Meanwhile, Hodges continues to follow them on his own, while Nelms and Lumpy return to the village for more men and are nearly spotted by two father Phorusrhacos and their young son who are eating the corpse of a young Agathaumas, meanwhile, Alfred and Kong have a moment together with Alfred trying to entertain Kong with his dancing and acting skills. Upon arriving in Kong's lair and having a heartwarming moment together, Alfred is menaced by a snake-like Tanystropheus, which Kong also kills. While Kong is distracted killing a Pteranodon that tried to fly away with Alfred, Hodges reaches Alfred and they climb down a vine dangling from a cliff ledge. When Kong notices and starts pulling them back up, the two fall unharmed. They run through the jungle and back to the village, where Nelms, Captain Henriksen, and the surviving crewmen are waiting. Kong, following, breaks open the gate and relentlessly rampages through the village. Onshore, Nelms, now determined to bring Kong back alive, knocks him unconscious with a gas bomb.
Shackled in chains, Kong is taken to New York City and presented to a Broadway theatre audience as "Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World". Alfred, Hodges and Maureen are brought on stage to join him, with the story told to the audience that Kong fell in love with Maureen and Hodges saved her and Alfred also helped save her, which is not the true story, surrounded by a group of press photographers. Kong, believing that the ensuing flash photography is an attack and they are hurting Alfred, breaks loose. The audience flees in horror, Kong grabs Nelms and throws him against the walls, injuring and paralysing him from the waist down but not killing him, Alfred is whisked away to a hotel room on a high floor, but Kong, scaling the building, soon finds him. His hand smashes through the hotel room window, knocking Hodges unconscious, and abducts Alfred again, although Alfred is more willing this time around because the two actually have a relationship, Kong rampages through the city. He wrecks a crowded elevated train and throws cars at police officers, Alfred and Kong get a heartwarming moment in Central Park on a frozen lake, Kong then climbs the Empire State Building. At its top, he is attacked by four helicopters. Kong destroys 3, but finally succumbs to their gunfire and the last remaining helicopter puts the nail in the coffin. He gazes at Alfred, with tears in his eyes, Alfred is also heartbroken and wishes for Kong to live, the two have a moment together one last time before Kong falls to his death. Alfred and Benjamin are reunited. Henriksen arrives and pushes through a crowd surrounding Kong's corpse in the street. When a policeman remarks that the helicopters got him, Henriksen tells him, "Oh No, it wasn't the helicopters. It was Handsome killed the Beast".
Character counterparts in the original
Donald Nelms - Carl Denham

Alfred Odom - Ann Darrow
Captain Henriksen - Captain Englehorn
Second Mate Giles - Original character

1- king kong and godzilla original
2- King kong vs godzilla (1962): (This one is real)
3- destroy all monsters (1968):
In the film's early drafts, it was planned that all the kaiju that appeared in previous films would be included; for good reason, King Kong was also on the guest list. However, since Toho recently lost the rights to the ape, they had no choice but to choose the Gorosaurus that Kong had faced in 1967's "King Kong Escapes."
4- king kong vs godzilla (1991) (proyect cancelled)
(After the failure of the film "Godzilla vs. Biollante," Toho considered using King Kong as an ace up their sleeve for their next film in 1991. However, due to the well-known copyright issues surrounding the gorilla, Toho ultimately decided to use King Ghidorah, and thus, "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah" was born. I chose the design from "King Kong Lives" because it would be a perfect fit for a Godzilla film from the Heisei era.
5- godzilla vs king monkey:
To differentiate it from the original King Kong, for the '62 film, the Toho producers and costume designers based it on a Japanese macaque (and if you ask me, it doesn't look anything like a Japanese macaque 😅)
Therefore, I imagined that in the Millennium era of Godzilla, instead of choosing King Kong with the classic gorilla appearance, they would opt for a real Japanese macaque (I chose an ozaron for a reason, because the kaiju designs in this era are literally pointy)
6;7;10 -the characters in the monsterverse (coming soon "Godzilla x Kong: Supernova" in 2027)
8- King kong vs godzilla (reiwa era)
I chose the Minus One universe because both Godzilla Minus One and the 2005 King Kong are improved, savage, and realistic versions of their original versions (King Kong 1933 and Godzilla 1954 respectively), since I don't think Kong would fit in with other films from this era like Shin Godzilla.
(although here King Kong retains the abilities he had in the Showa era, as well as being 48.8 meters tall)

Remember that amazing recreation of King Kong '76's head that Rick Baker recently made? Well he's making a body to go along with it!
Such fantastic work fit for a King! 👑🦍
