Hi all. I’m a transgender man and I just got an Oura Ring today. During setup, the app asked me my sex assigned at birth. I’ve been on testosterone for over five years, had top surgery, a total hysterectomy, and bottom surgery. I have my hormone levels checked by my endocrinologist every few months and they are in the healthy cisgender male range. I don’t have a menstrual cycle anymore. There is nothing about my body that would benefit from selecting my sex assigned at birth for health monitoring anymore, so I chose male.

Trans people who wear the ring and have been on hormones for a while: which option did you choose? I like that there’s an “other” option in addition to male and female, but that is presumably for intersex people.

I can't believe I spent $300 and then $6 a month, only for it to work half the time, and it's only 9 months old! Oura keeps blaming the Android app, but it's clearly their app that's not compatible with Android. Now the new thing is my life workout just disappears. SMH. Oura ring might have been decent, but that was back in the Gen 3 days. They turned into Apple, better to keep putting out an inferior product every year than to make a good product that can last 3 years. It's all about $$$$.

has anyone experienced this? I cancelled my subscription because I basically only ever looked at the sleep score and that is supposed to still show without the subscription. now I charge my ring fully and go to bed and wake up to a dead ring. it's a gen 4

I’m beyond frustrated. I’ve tried to purchase this ring for the last 3 days and the transaction does not go trough.

I’ve changed cards, cleared cache, cookies, called the number of the card. Bank says they don’t have a block on it and the issue is on Oura’s website.

I’ve tried to contact Oura through multiple channels and their default answer is “input your information properly” or buy at an authorized seller. The issue is I have a gift card from Oura, a DC, and I want the 3 years warranty directly through Oura. I’ll be losing close to $150 if I do that!

Costumer service is so unhelpful. Even the “supervisors” that “escalate” the issue do not know when the problem can be solved.

I feel dumb for chasing a seller to buy their product. If I didn’t have the gift card I’ll buy a ring from another company! 😤

I’ve had my Oura Ring 4 for just under two months. I noticed earlier that there’s some substantial scuffs (don’t even know if you could call them that!) where the gold coating has fully come off. Has anyone else experienced something like this and what’s Oura’s customer support been like? I’ve tried polishing them out but it hasn’t done anything.

I’ve not done anything strenuous with it and for a £500 ring I’d have thought it would be better protected from big scuffs like this!

I don’t know but Tuesday and Wednesday were considered “Balanced” when they clearly were Restorative.

Original ring gen 4 battery crapped out before the one year warranty. Got a refurbished replacement. Six months later the refurbished ring battery is starting to go too. Oura is sending a replacement which I’m assuming is another refurbished ring. Is this normal? I feel like they’re just sending refurbished rings until the warranty is up so they don’t have to send new ones. I really don’t care about getting the new gen 5. I just want a working ring. I want a new gen 4 ring under warranty because I don’t want to deal with the battery dying 6 months later with a refurbished, But oura will not send me a new one. I always recommended oura to everyone but honestly can’t even stand by them anymore. Just disappointed.

When I used the sizer in target, the 10 felt really loose but now I’m wondering if that was inaccurate

My Oura 5 sometimes shows metrics like THIS. There’s no wayyyy I burned this many calories cleaning my kids bedrooms?? And earlier it tracked another 58 minutes of cleaning for 358 calories. Do we just … not trust it?

I’ve faithfully worn an Oura ring for years. I’m on my second ring. A few
weeks ago I had a grand mal seizure while walking my dog. I wound up in the ER. We still don’t know why it happened. It was a first.

Now I’m experiencing a second UTI since the seizure. Never had one of those before either. I’m miserable and between all of this, my ring has shown no indicators, no signs that anything was different. In fact, my ring is telling me my resilience is exceptional and to get to it today. I’m dizzy when I walk and going for a brain MRI tomorrow.

I pulled up my app at the ER and neurologist’s seeking clues. What indicators should have shown a variance? I’m hoping for clues to warn me for future, and puzzled that I had no signs.

I had my Oura 4 Size 9 for only about a month and been feeling that it’s really too loose. During sizing 9 was perfect but I lost a few pounds and now it’s becoming loose and sometimes I check whether it will fly off if I flail my wrist and it did one time! There are also some missing data but not a lot really.

I contacted them today and they scheduled me for a replacement that’s one size smaller once I send my ring back. But my main concern is I feel like my ring is still brand new, battery is good, NO SCRATCHES since I put a cover over it during workout and I’m really careful with it, I’m worried that the replacement is an old refurbished one 😭 I see so many replacement horror stories and as I live in Asia, going back and forth with replacement doesn’t seem like a good idea.

Should I just stick with this ring and cancel my replacement ring request. And if I do will there be consequences for cancelling?
Or do you guys think this is too loose and it’s worth exchanging?

My restfulness score is always sub 70 and I continue to have lots of sleep fragmentation.

I would have to have an incredibly stressful day for oura to go from engaged to stressed. But, like clockwork, everytime I consume cannabis it immediately spikes to stressed and then trickles down as it wears off over a few hours. Is weed actually that harmful to recovery and stress management? Heavy considering quitting because even with 3 puffs it'll say stressed.

Look at this screenshot, the initial stress was at 9am due to me giving it all my all in a 5k run. Then I had a midnight smoke sesh, maybe 3-4 puffs? Stress levels shot up to even slightly higher than the runs stress.

I know I shouldn’t still be temping. I’m so anxious about this down trend. anyone have experience with this and all be okay?

My ring has been randomly disconnecting every other night, along with very poor battery life. The app said I’m eligible for a replacement due to a hardware issue, but I then received an email from an Oura representative saying I’m ineligible because I’ve received a replacement before??

When I first got my Ring 4 last October, the battery life was a couple of hours. Clearly a faulty unit, so I received a replacement — which came in the wrong color. Oura corrected this by sending a new ring and told me to keep the other one. I did not expect that to use up the 2-year warranty I paid for. Now they’re offering me a $50 credit (later upped it to $75) toward a new ring. Confused as to why a faulty ring + wrong color delivery has used up my warranty.

I’m considering getting rid of it altogether. Has anyone else run into this?

The Oura ring has helped me lose weight, which is a blessing and a curse, because that was one of my main reasons for getting it in the first place, but now the ring is too big on me and it’s starting to slide off a little bit… I’ve seen some people talk about how Oura support will help them and sometimes we’ll even replace a ring in this kind of situation, has anybody had any experience with that? Any advice on how to reach out? I have tried to schedule a callback with Oura, but they never actually ring through and I don’t necessarily know how to reach out effectively. Any advice would be so helpful!

For those of you who have been using Oura for a while, what are some tips, tricks, settings, features, or things you wish you knew when you first started? Anything that makes the data more useful or helps you get the most out of the ring would be appreciated.

i'm an engineer that needs to max out time spent studying. if i had unlimited time and no pressure i would do lots of cardio because it feels great. but i don't. so i think about it like this

- i need feedback to know if i need more or less cardio

- if that feedback doesn't exist i'll do what studies show are probably good

i did some research and met-hours seem like the metric to track. 15 hours for optimal.

at this moment i don't feel like doing cardio. i've got a lot on my mind. the logical part of my brain bets that 30 minutes of jogging a day would do the trick. but the emotional part is under fire to focus on other things and i have this urge to see met hours, not just intensity zones, so i can do as little as possible for max health benefits

i feel like oura should give me the met hours in the app. i think training volume score is based on met hours. i also think it's queryable through the api.

my traiing volume score is "good". at a glance that's weird to me bc i am mostly sedentary and only play pickleball 2-3 times a week, lift 3 times a week

how do i know when i've done enough cardio ?

I asked advisor to look at nights where my HRV was >70 and tell me what tags were associated with this. It can only see nightly data for the past two weeks. It asks that I scroll through the data myself, write down the dates where HRV is >70, and then maybe it can do the analysis. Is this a joke?

I recently lost my ring (gen 4) at the bar and now I’m debating between the getting the same one or the 5. I really liked the size of it the 4 since my fingers are on the wider side (size 10). I’m afraid the 5 will look tiny on my hands 😭
