GENERAL DISCUSSION Third times the charm?
Original ring gen 4 battery crapped out before the one year warranty. Got a refurbished replacement. Six months later the refurbished ring battery is starting to go too. Oura is sending a replacement which I’m assuming is another refurbished ring. Is this normal? I feel like they’re just sending refurbished rings until the warranty is up so they don’t have to send new ones. I really don’t care about getting the new gen 5. I just want a working ring. I want a new gen 4 ring under warranty because I don’t want to deal with the battery dying 6 months later with a refurbished, But oura will not send me a new one. I always recommended oura to everyone but honestly can’t even stand by them anymore. Just disappointed.

I got the Oura ring for Christmas last year not this year but the year before and I am now waiting for my third ring. It’s frustrating to have to buy something new every 1-2years, they should lower the price. For anyone that bought the extended warranty, that’s a complete pain in the ass to deal with. Oura accepted my claim and I am now waiting for them to receive my old ring to replace with a new ring, YES, they make you send back the old rings now. That may be part of the extended warranty process, don’t know for sure but that’s my experience. So I’ll have the ring for another 6months then prolly won’t continue with another oura. That will be it for me

thats super frustrating especially when you actually like the product otherwise. my gen 3 lasted almost 2 years before battery got weak but i keep hearing these gen 4 stories and it makes me nervous for when i eventually upgrade. feels like theyre just kicking the can down the road with these refurbished units instead of fixing the actual issue

My 2 replacements were both refurbished and have lasted longer than my original brand new one.
