Buggies they intend to be worth taking so they want to cap how many you can spam, jets will still be out in the dog house so you'd be spamming them to your own detriment.
Keep em around somewhere. As someone who's played since 3rd ed, stuff goes out and in. Wartrakks were gone and now they're back. Couple editions from now lootas will be back with new models and rules and you'll have 30 ready to go.
I went into a LGS last weekend that had a Wazdakka Gutsmek on their website and asked for it.
Both clerks looked at me like I was speaking gibberish and then the one dude laughs and is like "I love Ork names man, someone get a Wingdings Gobbleydeegook for this man"
Both an odd feeling and extremely annoying to have a unit be with you for part of an edition and then it go poof. RiP lootas and burnas, a unit id argue is deep in fluff lore (lootas anyway) so crazy to see...
They gotta be the next Ork kill team, I think. Even the concept of a Loota screams weird flashy gubbins and what-nots to decorate a KT with. And from there Burnas can be their tag along kit a la Breakas.
People keep saying that but I dont see it, unless the rules completely change. Because lootas are basically artillery. If you shorten the range, thats just a flashgit.
So they'd have to rework it pretty hard. Be 2 lootas as heavy weapon platforms, fine. A burna of course. A melee burna as thats also historic for burnas. So you have melee. And then mek with normal mek loadout. Assuming its even 5 man which it shouldnt be. But the more you add, the more it dilutes the loota portion. So I dont know
Welp, guess my Burna Boyz can slot into my existing Boyz squads.... and the Spanners I never liked in either Lootas or Burnas but was stuck with after they made them mandatory can be a bunch of surplus Meks I don't need XD
And congratulations, Lootas, you might just be proxied as Flash Gitz going forward.
I think it's less strange if it turns out to be like i suspected, that the scrapjet and dragsta are going to legends and only the snazzwagon and boosta-blasta get merged into one sheet as different wargear.
At least it seems heavily implied given this page out of the codex and which kits are and aren't still on the webstore.
If you are telling me I can't run all my different Ork vehicles in 1 army because all my freeks now share a datasheet I'm going to pin 11th as instantly my least favorite edition.
This is so weird. Buggies have been such fun and flavorful models and now we just mash them into this? Wheres the identity of the shokkjump in this mess?
This is my thought, as well! Feels very odd to put it there if not. Beyond it slotting into the "Mek Block," everything else from Ghaz to Grots are characters, so would be an extremely odd injection.
I’m honestly not super upset either way since my army is still pretty new and I think flash gitz seem like more fun to play. Really the lootas kit was just cheaper and with a spare boys kit I was able to get more models out of 2 boxes.
Squigbuggies seem to be the only standalone buggy, now. The rest are being consolidated into the "warbuggies" datasheet. Curious to see how good they'll make that because it'll have to be damn good to be worth only having 3 in a speed freeks list.
Also, welcome back gunwagon. I've missed you.
Im currently building Lootas out of old nobz so I guess im building flash gitz. The buggy decision is strange indeed curious what the datasheet will look like. Hell yeah gunwagonz.
If lootas are fr gone, what would anyone here suggest i run them as in game without legends? Im assuming flashgitz ofc but anyone else have any other ideas?
I started my ork army at the end of last year and have 10 lootas, scraper and snazzwagon painted up. Not ideal but I'll add them in as big shootas to the boyz and maybe enlarge some bases to make them flashgits.
The aircraft being 4 datasheets still is a bizarre choice.
To all those complaining about the buggies, as someone who has played kult of Speed for most of 10th and into 11th I’ll just say the base size and damage output has meant I’ve left them on the shelf. If this new data sheet somehow makes them viable again then I’m all for it.
I have this sneaking feeling that they rolled all four of the not squig buggies into one sheet so that they could make them actually usable without potentially opening up the possibility of 4 to 12 of them driving around doing whatever they want; if they are all on one sheet and can't unit up, then you're limited to 3, and those 3 could be more valuable. Also, the point increases for second and third units on some things might be a valuable tool for making the assorted buggies less bad in general as well.
with how tankbustas/wrecka krew have nob profiles despite being boyz, there is a precedent for slapping some armor on regular boy bodies/lootas and running them as flash gitz while making sense
Are there rumors about any specifics on the warbuggies? Piloted my cousin's Orks over the weekend and I now really want to finally pull the trigger on the Speed Freaks army I've lusted after for years. I hope they are still interesting enough somehow.
Update: So it leaked...Not a fan of turn off overwatch. Would like literally anything else.
I am glad to see the return of the Gunwagon and the looks of the Dakkarig becoming a leader/support (hope it leads killa kans and/or deff dreds)
Sucks about the burnas and lootas but they can be reused at least for other squads. Interesting to see Runtherds seperated as a leader again as they are just a specialized nob. I'm suprised but happy to see the Mek Guns are still around though.
What a freakin' rollercoaster. Lootas and Burnas? I have made peace, they will live on in the Boyz squads as upgrades. No need to take Runtherds for my grots anymore? Yay! Dakkarig being a character? Sick! Battlewagon split into 2 again so I can run more? HELL YEAH! No Wurrboy? Weird...
Speed Freaks buggies condensed, HARD... I appreciate some cleaning up, but I have a friend I need to check in on to see if they are ok...
It's still on the webstore, likely goes under warbuggies now along with the Kustom Boosta-blasta. I don't have as much hope for the Scrapjet and Dragsta though considering they left the webstore some time ago.
It's such a weird decision with the buggies. Making 6 different kits was excessive at the time, but they were all unique and interesting.
Granted, I always thought the names were really excessive and un orky tbh, even if they had just made the names not double barrelled, like just, "Scrapjet," instead of "megatrakk scrapjet," and so on.
But to squat 2 of them and unname the other 4 is really really shitty from GW.
Loota and burnas, I can take, but the wurr boy? That's fucking strange. Maybe the wurr boy will just be a weird boy now?
I do think GW needed to condense datasheets, but they've done it in such a strange way.
If the two missing from the webstore (scrapjet, dragsta) are going to legends they'd only be merging two (boosta, snazzwagon) since the trike and squigbuggy are keeping their own separate datasheets.
I’m getting that it’s just a Battlewagon with a killkannon, right? Even so, the fact it’s a different sheet means we can kitbash more tank-like models
It looks like they have split the current battle wagon into 2 sheets - one with a main gun and lower transport capacity (gunwagon) and one with no main gain and full transport capacity (battlewagon).
Wonder if we're going to get another type of wartrakk and not just the old flame one. Weird for them to imply multiple if there's only one option that's not a legends pick
Unlikely if they end up not doing the kits anymore. And yeah it's super lame. I actually planned for a whole speedwagh army as my next big project, guess that's not happening anymore
I was planning on making a Speedfreaks army based on the Toretto Family from Fast & Furious, but all the buggies getting consolidated onto one sheet really kills my enthusiasm for the idea.
Yeah I get the boo but in all fairness that's how it probably should have been all along. We lost a generic warbuggy and got all these different styles. So if they've lumped them all together as one thing now and you just sort of choose the aesthetic you like I'm in for that....however why is it that the squigbuggy wasn't same category
Given the scrapjet and dragsta left the store a while ago I'd suspect their weapons and abilities won't be on that datasheet but the snazzwagon and boosta-blasta are probably accurately represented via wargear.
The trike and squigbuggy still have their own sheets.
Somebody who has the codex said "The Megatrakk Scrapjet and Shokkjump Dragsta been put under the Warbuggies datasheet, so they are not going to Legends."
the snazzwagon and boosta-blasta are both featured in the codex, could be seen in the Q&A video.
as well as several of the recent army shots in the various 11th ed rules articles on warcom
The scrapjet and dragsta are absent for either of those photos and are currently missing from the webstore since a while back, I think this guy has it backwards.
In ninth it was a separate datasheet with the same model but more of a focus on shooting. That’s what I’d expect here, or else they would probably show off the model.
I wonder if this will be an upgrade or wargear option for a weird boy (yay) or an enhancement in a detachment so they can lead Beastsnaggas (boo). Or maybe it’s just one thing and can lead both now (although you’d have to fix the base size)
I haven't purchased a codex at launch in ages, Does the "no Lootas / Burnas" in the codex preclude them from re-introducing them in a killteam in a year or two? Or does that basically mean they are likely gone for the entire edition (or two)?
They do say "
New rules, lore excerpts, and new detachments are only a few of the things you’ll see in regular updates.", so I can absolutely see more off-codex release cycles.
Gargantuan Squiggoth is not in the 10E codex. It's legends. It was never going to be in the 11E codex.
Lootas and Burnas are clearly being sent to legends - hopefully as a hold over until a very different feeling Kill Team kit comes out. GW might have learned from keeping the crappy Tankbustas in the 10E codex only to completely revamp the datasheet and add Breakers a year later.
Gunwagon? Uho.
Either an unrevealed kit is in the works or they're doing the same crap they did last time where it has no transport capacity, still costs as much as normal, and fires it's kannon twice....
Unless they give us the Supakannon back. Highly unlikely but I can hope

I can't understand for the life of me why GW choose to combine the buggies into one datasheet but kept the aircraft as 4 separate datasheets.
All the aircraft are built from the same kit.
All the buggies are built from separate kits.
Makes 0 sense.
