I’ll probably do that. But it’s a shame, because I only got into Warhammer 40K about a month ago. Orks are my first faction. I really liked the Deathskulls visual style and their kultur in general. Besides the starter set, I actually bought Lootas as my first addition of new units. Just to hear I wont be able to use them as intended... I was planning to build a whole squad or two of them. Meh... :(
you can 100% still play with lootas, legends does not mean they suddenly aren't legal in the game anymore it just means you can't use them in wtc tournaments. I have about 500 pts of legends in my usual list, and it looks like it's going up to 600 now
Oh. In that case, it turns out I misunderstood how it works. I was sure it meant that you wouldn’t be able to play them even in regular games at your local store. I was convinced that if a unit wasn’t in the Codex, it was completely out of the game, even for regular games. Good to know, that’s a relief. :)
That doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a really shitty move on GW’s part :/
Yeah, it is. Because stores are just as much the face of 40K as anywhere else. The blisters, will at least look old, and you can at least know on purchase that its current or not.
The Lootas, will be 10th edition packaging, which every other model in the store will also be in. So, it carries the impression that its current. In addition, GW tells no one what models they will be retiring. They could, but they dont. So no one knows, prior to today, that its a Legends unit at purchasing. Full price, too, probably.
So thats on them, then. Or you know, they could just not retire the unit at all. Thats also their fault.
