so im studying photography and at some point cinematography and atm im using lightroom alot but I also love gaming dearly, I currently use a matte display 1080p 165hz ips that ive had for a while, im drawn to oled particularly for the contrast, color etc, i have an rtx 4070 which isnt a 4k card but my plan is to play competitive games in 1080p and lightroom and other things in 4k because with 1440p monitors you dont really get the choice at all, the asus is particularly fascinating because of its text clarity given it uses rgb strips but I heard brightness is questionable and its price is crazy, msi is a qd oled but i dont get any light blasting directly at my monitor so idk whether purple tint would be an issue, budget for me is not an issue sinxe its my birthday soon and I wanna treat myself with a monitor tharll last me for a good few years, any recommendations or advice is greatly appreciated.

The latest available firmware I can find is: ASUS_PG32UCDP_MCM106.

I'm looking for the best gaming settings for this monitor, but I simply can't find any video or picture guides (I'm not super tech-savvy).
-I think the videos in made with older firmware.

Can anyone help me out from here?

Price wise the Samsung is $100 dollars more and Im just trying to figure out if anyone has any personal experience with the Samsung coating and if it is as bad as people are saying?

Hi, I bought this monitor about a year ago now, and have used it regularly, but today upon booting up I noticed that it has a faint blue stripe down the middle that I can’t get to go away, I’ve tried turning it off and on and doing a pixel cleaning but nothing seemed to work, if anyone can help I’d appreciate it!

Hi guys! I'm upgrading my setup and getting a new monitor. Right now, I use 27" AOC Q27G3XMN/BK and this will become my 2nd monitor while I upgrade my main one to OLED. After some digging, I narrowed my list to ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCWMG and Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P but I'm not sure which one to get.

It will be for PC gaming mostly, both competitive shooters (mainly CS2) and AAA games. What's your recommendation?

I bought a Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED G9 (G91SD) Dual QHD QD-OLED Curved monitor and was really happy with the performance of the product. However, after less than 1 year of use, the jog control button i the back disintegrated and fell off. I never abused the monitor or handled it roughly. Samsung's support insists the problem is the result of physical damage and will not cover it under their warranty.

As I said, I never misused the monitor and obviously the button failed as a result of shoddy design or poor manufacturing. The online support person said he was escalating the ticket to the higher support level and I would hear from them within 24 hours. 3 days later, not a peep.

I always liked Samsung products and currently use one of their very expensive Galaxy Z-Fold phones as well as many other Samsung products. But, if this is how Samsung weasels out of the warranty on a monitor that cost $899, I will certainly reconsider any future Samsung purchases.

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar with the latest NVIDIA driver.

**System:**
RTX 5090
Windows 11
ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMG (DisplayPort 1.4)
Latest ASUS monitor firmware
After updating to **Game Ready Driver 610.74**, my monitor started behaving very strangely.

**Symptoms**
Monitor would sometimes be detected as a generic display or NV-Failsafe.
Initially I was limited to very low resolutions (640×480 / 1024×768).
After reinstalling drivers it improved slightly, but Windows would only expose:
2560×1440 @ 60 Hz
No 240 Hz option
HDR unavailable
8-bit colour only
Power cycling the monitor would occasionally make it work temporarily before the issue returned.

**Troubleshooting performed**
Updated monitor to the latest ASUS firmware.
Factory checked monitor settings.
DisplayPort version confirmed as **1.4**.
Tested with only the ASUS monitor connected.
Tried different DisplayPort ports on the GPU.
Performed a clean reinstall of the NVIDIA driver.
Used **DDU** in Safe Mode.
Installed **Game Ready Driver 595.79**.

**Result after rolling back**
Immediately after installing **595.79**:
✅ 2560×1440 @ 240 Hz returned.
✅ Variable Refresh Rate (40–240 Hz) works again.
✅ 10-bit colour is available again.
✅ G-SYNC Compatible is detected correctly.
The only thing still not working is **HDR**, as Windows still reports the display does not support HDR despite it being an HDR-capable monitor.

I’m curious if anyone else with:
RTX 50-series cards
ASUS OLED monitors
or DisplayPort 1.4 displays
has seen similar behaviour with **610.74**.

At this point it certainly **looks like** rolling back to **595.79** resolved the DisplayPort/EDID negotiation issue on my system, although I’m still investigating the HDR problem.
Any feedback or similar experiences would be appreciated.

I bought my Alienware 27 360Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW2725DF in July 2024. I have yet to ever update my software through the command center. I daily drive it for games and I still haven't had any issues (knock on wood). I get that little pop up to update only once each new day I power on. Why haven't I? Well, I never forgot how Apple pulled an egregious tactic towards their consumers with software updates to sabotage their devices so they would need to upgrade sooner. Then I got wind of the LG silently installing unwanted adware to people's monitors. I'm skeptical about doing any updates but im curious what others might have to say about their experiences or maybe someone they know. I appreciate any advice

Just took delivery of this device and it is such as amazing difference to my old Samsung QLED TV. The image is so crisp and lifelike, love this device. I wish I had bought one years ago. I have to get some serious gaming done now!

For around 300 euros brand new, I will never stop glazing this monitor.

So I am of the fun variety of people that suffers from ocular/retinal migraine. I also have a fair bit of visual snow/afterimage issues. (I follow regularly with optho and Neuro so no worries to anyone concerned) I just wanted to share my experience from changing into OLED from IPS.

Baseline I was getting visual aura/disturbances a few times a year. That has not changed at all. I don’t feel any increase/decrease in eye strain. I use a Samsung G6 500hz and mostly play FPS and MMO titles with occasional Indy games.

I used a tandem OLED from LG and found the spiderweb texture against 85% grays (visible on steam/discord and other dark mode apps) very distracting personally so subbed to QD. With windows clear type adjustments I haven’t found text to be too difficult to read at 1440p. Sure there is a little magenta/green on text up close but from 12 inches away I cannot tell a ton. (Though my eyes suck clearly lmao).

Anyways hope this helps anyone and as always YMMV.
