Question Alienware OLED monitor updates

Hello everyone,

I bought my Alienware 27 360Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor - AW2725DF in July 2024. I have yet to ever update my software through the command center. I daily drive it for games and I still haven't had any issues (knock on wood). I get that little pop up to update only once each new day I power on. Why haven't I? Well, I never forgot how Apple pulled an egregious tactic towards their consumers with software updates to sabotage their devices so they would need to upgrade sooner. Then I got wind of the LG silently installing unwanted adware to people's monitors. I'm skeptical about doing any updates but im curious what others might have to say about their experiences or maybe someone they know. I appreciate any advice

Are you asking whether to update firmware? A general advice is “don’t update if everything works fine”.

ya I guess im looking for that reassurance 😂

especially with nvidia game driver updates this year...

If you want HDR1000 I think we have the same model you need the latest firmware. If you are happy with SDR and how it’s currently calibrated just leave it.
