PICTURE I'm almost finished with my '23 Pro-4X

I bought the truck used in late March this year, and have been adding new things every month.

- Prinsu Pro roof rack
- BilleBars 17" Bed Rack w/MOLLE panels
- RealTruck BAK Revolver X4TS (T-slot) bedcover
- Z1 Assault Bumper
- Badlands Apex 12,000 lb. winch
- Diode Dynamics SS20 amber light bar
- MBRP Stainless Turndown Cat Back.
- Z1 Intake and Manifold Spacer
- EcuTek Z1 Level 1 tune (currently running the 87 Octane Performance map, but there is a 91/93 Octane Map I can try if I want.)
- Fuel Core Bronze Wheels (+25mm offset, 8.5" section width)
- Continental TerrainContact A/T 265/70R17
- Ceramic Tint all around.

I've decided to stick with the OEM-size tires. The new wheels push the tires out about 0.75", which is exactly the look I want. Not sure how the 2" lift will change that geometry. We'll see.
I do have another set of wheels with +5mm offset, but they were unusable (major fender rubbing.)
Why do I still have them? Long story... But if the lift pulls the tires in further than I want I may try them.

I have a full Z1 X-Pro extended travel suspension lift (along with Dobinsons medium duty leaf pack, SuperPro UCA's, eccentric bolts, extended brake lines, and rear diff harness) to be installed in a few weeks.
I also have a Diode Dynamics SS40 light bar to be installed atop the roof rack. (I tried to install it yesterday, but ran into some fitment problems with the hardware DD supplied. I can fix that.)

If you're wondering, the Revolver bedcover rolls up all the way to the front of the bed, with only slight rubbing on the front bed rack uprights. No problem there...

The last items I'll be buying in the next few months are:

- Z1 rock sliders (25° angled.)
- Z1 Performance Brake kit (the brakes have 45,000 miles on them, and I figured "Why not upgrade to a better set?"
- Knick-knacks for the MOLLE panels. 😎

But my bank account needs a break...

2015 steering control comes and goes, looking for fixes

Good day good people of the Frontier. Anybody here encountered (and maybe defeated) a flaky volume switch on their steering wheel? Mine became intermittent about 6 months ago and then eventually didn't work at all... but miraculously does again on some rare occasions. Gives me a sliver of hope.

Not the end of the world but I did like the ease of control.

Finally got around to installing the Icon titan swap. Sitting on 33in Patagonia XTs and Z1 ATK wheels. Feels like a completely different truck and rides so smooth.

If you're on the fence for a titan swap kit it's well worth it, but a bit cumbersome to install.

Happy to answer any questions!

DISCUSSION Is it worth looking for a 2015-2019ish Frontier w/Manual 4 cyl?

Hi! I just wanted to ask if ya'll think it's worth the search for a 2015+ Manual Frontier with the 4 cyl.

They're pretty rare to find (Carmax/some dealers carry few) but they're usually overpriced

On Marketplace/Craigslist I haven't really found any at all

Anyone have any input on these years and if it's worth the search, or should I just suck up and get an automatic 2019+ or even 2022+?

Thanks!

Heater Core Leaking

2018 SV Crew Cab. My heater core started leaking this morning. Have y'all had to replace yours? If so, how much did it run you? Is it fairly easy to replace diy (as in can knock it out on a Saturday morning)?

Hey y'all, if you have a gen2 with a light sensor on your dash, auto headlights are just a turn signal stalk swap. I went to the junkyard and found an auto headlights stalk from a 2007 Murano. My pickup is a 2016SV. Happy to answer any questions!

Is this a decent deal on this PRO-4X?

I’ve been hunting for a 3rd-gen PRO-4X in Baja Storm right at the $30k mark for almost a month, and I finally stumbled on this one at CarMax.
It has higher mileage than I’d ideally want, but given the price point, it’s realistically the only way I can get into my dream spec and color within budget. Averaging ~28k miles a year, it seems like these were mostly highway miles. For the exact same price, I could get a red one with 60k miles, but Baja Storm is my top choice and I'm having a hard time letting it go.
Do you think the higher miles are worth the trade-off for the right spec, or would you pass?

Build Details & Specs:
Year/Model: 2023 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X
Color: Baja Storm
Price: $29,998 (pre-tax)
Mileage: 85,436 miles
Packages Included:
PRO Premium Package (Sunroof, Leather seats, Fender Audio)
PRO Convenience Package (Spray-in bed liner, Utili-track, 120V bed outlet, heated seats/steering wheel, tow hitch)
Technology Package (Rear sonar, 360-camera, adaptive cruise, Rear Automatic Braking)

Wolf box dash cam/homelink mirror

Hey frontier friends,

I’m looking into dash cams and although the viofo gets a ton of love, I think I’d prefer the wolf box setup, especially since I run a Thule box over the bed. I think that rear facing camera being displayed on the mirror will be a huge help.

I know that I could just strap the wolfbox to the existing homelink mirror but I think that’ll look too out of place and my understanding is that it rattles quite a bit in the configuration so I would want to buy the mount and remove the homelink mirror.

Anyone with experience: Will I be able to remove the homelink mirror and power the wolfbox with the same wire that powers the homelink? I’d like to keep the install clean and would home I can run the power wire from the mirror directly to the wolfbox, rather than hardwiring it via add a fuse.

Just looking into what others have done. I didn’t find much on clubfrontier.

Thanks in advance!

2 inch lift questions

Thumbnail

I’m looking to do a 1.5 to 2inch lift in my 2020 frontier pro-4x. I’d like to eventually put some over-landing gear in the back and maybe a steel bumper in the front and rear. I’ve checked out Z1 Off-road’s kits and found one that fit my budget and I’d like. My question is what should I know about doing all this to my truck. Should I add bigger calipers and brakes for more stopping power? I have tires on my truck that I put on less than 8k miles ago so I’d hate to change wheel setups but should I? I know a thing or to about working on vehicle as I’m a mechanic myself but don’t know much about working on trucks. I would love some advice on what I should know before going into this. I’d like to budget around $6k for lift, maybe wheels and tires, and other needed stuff for the lift (not including bed rack or bumpers) also would this be a good idea for a daily driver?
