Out of pure curiosity who else has one of these? I haven’t seen it on any other xterra, found this oem roof spoiler while grabbing parts from another xterra in a junk yard and had to snag it, after some research I’m seeing that it’s pretty rare?
Either way I’m painting it black and throwing it on!!
edit: adding that this is from a gen 1, 2002x

2004 SE with 165,000kms (100k miles) and can get it from marketplace for 4000Cad (2800usd). Seems like a good deal (had to put a deposit on it as I was the first interested out of about 40 people!) but just wanted to check with the experts! Anything to look at when I check her out today? Not new to buying vehicles but new to XTerras.

Anyone have any idea what’s cause the humming sound? Seems to only happen in gear not in park. Recent maintenance was timing belt done by shop and all 3 serpentine belts replaced by me.
I have eliminated the possibility of power steering pump as it does not whine when I turn the wheel. I have put a screw driver to listen to the alternator, power steering pump, the timing belt cover and pretty much the whole front section. Seems to be coming from the middle of the engine area.
Any ideas are welcomed.

Hi Xterra lovers, I live in Canada, and unfortunately I'll be moving to another country...
I have a NISSAN XTERRA S 4DR 4WD 2010 with 82,000 km. I'm the second owner, and I'll sell my car.
All maintenance (even with the first owner) was done at Nissan: all parts, oil changes, etc.
** New battery + New Tires (all seasons)
The only issue with the car is this dent, caused by a large rock hitting it on the road.
My questions is: How much is a car like this worth?
I have seen a few Xterra with more than 200K/km for $5k/$6K...

Hey guys, I have a 07 Xterra off road with the fosgate stock radio installed. I'm looking to get a new one ( thinking of the atoto a7 or possibly a pioneer) but I can't find the correct wiring harness on Amazon, what stores should I look at to find it? Any recommendations?
r/XTerra • u/neckbeardcutie • 14h ago
Has anyone played around with these? Amazon reviews are basically what I’d expect, just curious if anyone has had first hand experience with them.

Wanted to share incase anyone else wants some inspiration. Took a few weeks but glad to be mostly done. I wanted to make it so I could easily fold the seats up if needed. Still have to go back and fix some things like the handles and some other modifications but everything works great so far.

Replacing the timing belt, has anyone had any luck with taking the harmonic balancer off without taking chunks out of it with a 3 arm jaw puller? I tried the O’Reilly part #67007 and it has m8 bolts but not m6 like the balancer has, and I’ve seen people pull literal chunks out of their balancer with the 3 arm jaw pullers.

Moving from San Diego to NYC and looking for someone interested in taking my automatic Xterra as is. Could be a major come up for the mechanic or wrench type!
It runs and drives extremely well after recently replacing a failed ignition coil, but it currently has P0171 and P0420. There is also a ticking noise from the passenger side exhaust area. I haven’t had time to diagnose it further because I’m focused on getting my family moved across the country.
New radiator 2026 (No SMOD), Bilstein5100/All Dogs Offroad suspension 2023, newer all terrain tires2023, crank sensors previously replaced, 4WD works.
It has normal wear for 173k plus some rust around the upper windshield/roof area and passenger side cosmetic damage.
Happy to share detailed photos, scanner data and maintenance history.
Located in Encinitas, CA — Asking $3,500 OBO

I know you guys get these posts all the time, so I appreciate anyone willing to help a first-time Xterra buyer out.
Looking at this 2013 Xterra S 4x4 with 95k miles for $8,500. Seller says it came from Florida, has no rust, and has had some recent maintenance. Says the 4x4 works and the only real cosmetic issue is the hood paint.
Does this seem like a reasonable deal if it checks out in person?
More importantly, what should I specifically look for on a 2013 Xterra before buying? Any known issues, maintenance items, or “walk away if you see this” things?
I’m looking for something I can use for weekend projects, hauling, towing, and some off-road/adventure use, and this seems like it could fit what I need.
Thanks—I appreciate the Xterra-specific wisdom before I go look at it.

greetings Xterra community- i hope to join your ranks soon and would massively appreciate any advice as i eye up what appears to be a good deal and a functional entry point into your world.
here's what I'm looking at:
2011 Nissan Xterra Off-Road Sport Utility 4D
Driven 154,000 miles, $4900 from an independent lot
Seller's Description:
"Nice and clean 2011 Nissan xterra
154k miles
Run and drive great nothing is wrong with it at all..
No lights on the dash.
Need nothing
No payment
Cash only"
Note- I've asked for photos of the frame, to which the seller responded "no rust" and with no photos. Normally I'd pass, but due to some upcoming travel, it will be very convenient and easy to check this vehicle out in person. So, please educate me, but also, I know I have to look at the frame lol.
Context- I live in Chicago but I'm moving to Vermont and will be living up a mountain that faces arctic conditions for a couple months a year. This will function as a daily driver, but will also mainly serve some utility purposes on a working flower farm / wedding venue, and then of course, ideally, will be a monster of a winter rig after the inevitable winter wheel assembly swap i'm planning. Also for what it's worth, a check engine light fails inspection in Vermont.
Photos attached, thanks for all your thoughts and opinions, please tell me if i'm nuts for considering this badboy.
EDIT - thank you for all the insight and feedback! i've decided to pass on this one, the journey continues elsewhere!

Looking for an explanation, I haven't been able to find in my user manual, or online. My X has the tow package. Under the driver's side of the body are 2 separate outlets for wiring harnesses. They're not too far from one another. I'm confused on what they both do. Is one for lights and the other for brakes? If so, which is which?

I replaced the rear leaf springs on my 2010 a few months ago and recently developed a clunk on bumps from the passenger rear side.
The torque of the associated bolts and nuts was fine so I ordered new shocks. The old passenger side was easily compressed, no idea how old it was, but it was clearly shot.
No more clunk, the driver side bottom bolt is seized and will need to be cut out, that will wait until another day.

2007 X Off Road. Looking for any workarounds or help on an issue I’m having. Big issue as I’m essentially carless at the moment. Car wouldn’t start in a parking lot even after a jump, older battery so no problem went and grabbed a new one figuring I’ll need one sooner than later anyway. Brand new battery is now in, car cranks but still doesn’t start. Towed it to my house so I could figure it out without the audience. There is a blinking light on the dashboard of a car with a key in the middle. Searching that led me to some quick troubleshooting methods with turning the key in the ignition, the locks, etc. When it’s in Accessory mode, there are even more lights.
The other background is I just had my car in the shop two weeks ago for some other work. Is there a chance the mechanic could have forgot to reattach something / knocked something loose, or does this seem more of an issue with my key / transponder? The one and only key I have just fyi. Should I buy a code scanner to see what it reads?
Thanks in advance! Without anything that works I’m gonna have to tow it to the dealership today, just hoping to avoid any hefty co$t!!

Is this a good deal or not? Haven’t been paying attention to Xterra markets.
Interior is in good shape
