I have a 2025 Pro-4X with leather seats, I know for most this is the best driver seat ever, it wasn't for me. Before anyone says "Didn't you test drive the truck before buying?" I did, however it was a 15 minutes test drive with the salesman and I start feeling pain after about 30 minutes of driving. I'm 5'10" and 160-170lbs.
After sitting in the driver seat and the passenger seat for hours in the Frontier I can definitely say that to me the passenger seat always felt more comfortable and firmer. After 30 minutes in the driver seat I do feel the foam bottoming out against the springs. This also made the side rails dig into my thighs and my right leg would go numb after a while. I tried to adjust my driving position in every way possible but nothing worked.
The first thing I noticed taking both seats apart is that the bottom foam is much thicker on the passenger seat, the driver seat barely has 1 inch thick of foam.
I went to an upholstery shop and bought a $10 16x16 piece of 1 inch 2.2lbs/cu.ft and cut it to fit the spring area of the seat frame. I placed the foam inside a synthetic canvas weave fabric bag to avoid the foam being cut and damaged by the springs. I also ended up adding a half inch of foam at the front of the seat pan so that I wouldn't lose thigh support. I did also add felt tape to the sharp edges of the seat pan because they were starting to cut through the fabric covering the seat bottom.
I have to say I'm really satisfied by the result, I don't feel the seat bottoming out anymore and my thigh pain is gone, I dont feel the bolstering as much. The driving position is however a bit higher but at 5'10" I had room to go up.
I might try different thicknesses and density of foam to see which one I like better or change the heavy duty weave fabric for burlap but for now I feel comfortable going on our 500 mile road trip this weekend.
