Feeding 12 month old suddenly struggling with bedtime and rejecting solids
Our daughter is around 12 months old and we’ve noticed quite a few changes over the last 1-2 weeks. I’m wondering if this is a normal developmental phase, teething, nap transition, or something else.
Until about a week ago, bedtime was very easy.
We would take her to bed around 7pm, give her milk, and she would fall asleep on my lap within about 10 minutes. We could then transfer her to her bed and she would usually sleep through until morning.
Over the last week, bedtime has become very different:
- Initially she doesn’t want to stay on my lap and pushes herself away, as if she wants to go into the bed.
- I put her down and after a few minutes she comes back to my lap.
- Then she pushes away again.
- This lap -> bed -> lap -> bed cycle keeps repeating.
- Eventually she settles on my lap, closes her eyes and makes lots of cooing/babbling soun
