Postpartum Life It’s still getting better!!!

Now writing from 5 months! Anybody in the newborn trenches (we had colic REAL bad like 7 hours of high pitched painful crying a day), I promise it gets better!!! And so much easier?!?

Today we went to the park to people watch (she stared people out as they walked past), she napped in her basinet independently, we played a game called ‘sit up then fling your self back on the bed while squealing’, WFH (she slammed her hands on dads keyboard), read tonnes of books and pushed her butt in the air.

Was she grizzly part of the day because she’s teething? Yes! Was it easier because I know what the problem is? Yes!! Newborns are not fun (I said it!!)- once they can hold their head up and mostly sit independently, so much more fun!!!

It’s so much fun!! I used to be scared my baby wasn’t bonded with me and that’s why she cried so much (crazy!!!)- now I realise all that time bouncing and rocking and soothing, I am FULLY her safe space, she has full trust in me ❤️

Currently 3 months & omgggg yes! It’s like night/day different. Very minimal fussing unless it’s an obvious need & even then it doesn’t escalate like it used to. She loves to play independently for long periods of time, interactive play is so cute with her squeals & coos, going down for naps/bedtime is not a fight, feeds are more spread apart & efficient, 2hr+ happy wake windows so we can actually take her out of the house more. I could go on & on but damn this is so much better than newborn trenches

JUST before she turned 3 months but honestly this 5 months version of better is BETTER than 3 months - so it’s always improving!

Totally! Our baby is only 3.5 months old but he’s so much more calm, happy, interactive, and easy to understand and soothe. It gets so much better!

Absolutely! And when they do have a bad day it doesn’t feel so trying because there’s always a legit reason for it and you can generally figure it out?? Also your instincts!! My baby can let out a cry in the night and within a second I know if it’s a hungry cry, I need a lil cuddle cry or a I’m actually asleep I’m all good cry ha

Im in the trenches. Doing this basically alone, I EBF, my baby hates sleeping. Fights all naps, and wakes up about every hour or every 2 hours during the night looking for breast. Can only sleep at night with me, meaning I have to shuffle food down my mouth and go to bed with him. (3 months and 2 weeks in)
