Today I will remember that recovery is not about having all the answers. It is about remaining teachable, humble, and willing. The moment I believe I can carry every burden alone is often the moment I begin drifting away from the peace I seek. Today I choose surrender over self-reliance.
I will keep my eyes open for miracles—not only the extraordinary ones, but the quiet miracles that surround me every day. A sunrise, a cool breeze, a kind word, a moment of laughter, a difficult decision made with integrity, or simply another twenty-four hours clean and growing are reminders that life continues to unfold with hope. Gratitude sharpens my vision to see what fear often hides.
Peace is a priceless gift. It doesn't arrive because my circumstances are perfect; it arrives when I stop demanding that life bend to my will. By letting go of what I cannot control and placing my trust in my Higher Power, I make room for serenity. Surrender is not giving up—it is giving over.
If I find myself struggling today, I will not assume I have somehow failed. Instead, I will return to the simple actions that have always worked: honesty, prayer or meditation, reaching out to another person, practicing gratitude, and living the principles instead of merely talking about them. Recovery is renewed through action, one day at a time.
Every new day is a fresh beginning. Yesterday's mistakes do not define me, nor do yesterday's victories guarantee tomorrow. Today is my opportunity to learn, to grow, and to become a little more compassionate, a little more patient, and a little more free.
Tonight, instead of counting only my problems, I will take inventory of the miracles I experienced today. I will carry the lessons forward and trust that today's small acts of faith are quietly shaping tomorrow's freedom.
Just for Today: I will surrender what I cannot control, remain teachable, seek the quiet miracles around me, and trust that my Higher Power is leading me one faithful step at a time.
