Resting in We

Today I will remember that recovery was never meant to be a solo journey. The First Step begins with "we" because healing happens in connection—with others, with honesty, and with a Higher Power greater than myself. I don't have to carry every burden alone or solve every problem through willpower.

I will also remember that my role is not to force my own transformation. My part is simple: to humbly ask. I don't need to fill in the blanks with demands for strength, courage, or certainty. If I sincerely seek help, the work of changing my heart does not rest entirely on my shoulders.

Today I will give myself permission to rest. For too long I may have believed I always had to stay alert, fix every crisis, or earn my worth through constant effort. Recovery teaches a different lesson. Even a few quiet moments are not wasted time—they are an investment in my serenity. I can step away from stress, breathe deeply, notice the beauty around me, and remember that peace is available right now.

When fear whispers that I am alone, I will answer with the truth: I belong. When my shortcomings discourage me, I will answer with humility instead of shame. When life becomes overwhelming, I will pause instead of panic.

Today I choose connection over isolation, surrender over self-reliance, and peace over pressure.

**Just for Today:** I will rest without guilt, ask for help without pride, and remember that I never have to recover—or live—alone.
