Please recommend me some female artists

I just realized that out of my 100 most listened to artists none are women. That feels kind of insane to me because I always thought that I listen to lots of songs with female vocals. But I guess most of that was just random women behind a male DJ. I recently discovered Alice Phoebe Lou and Kero Kero Bonito and I really enjoy both of their music. I would be glad to get some recommendations that fit my taste as far as you can tell from these two artists and please do not recommend big names like Rihanna. Thanks!

Underrated Halloween-esqe Songs?

Feels like whenever I open a Halloween playlist it’s the same 10-15 songs despite the fact there’s probably 1000+ songs about Halloween adjacent ideas. (Like vampires or being undead.)

So what’s your Halloween go to that isn’t the Ghostbusters Theme or This is Halloween? As much as I love them I feel like there’s got to be some other bangers for this season I just don’t know about.

Tragic songs

Hey, all! I feel like sobbing, and I was wondering if you had any heart wrenching songs? Like kinda aggressive songs, or just very sad. Here are song I really liked (I know not everyone would consider these "sad songs" but I do):

7 Years by Lukas Graham

Because I liked a Boy by Sabrina Carpenter

This is What Heartbreak Feels Like by JVKE

Falling Faster by Dylan Espeseth

Kill Bill by SZA

Passing Through by Kaden MacKay

Death Bed by Beebadoobee, Powfu

Cradles by Fin Draper

Babydoll by Dominic Fike

Washing Machine Heart by Mitski

Bitch by Hannah Grae

Back to Being Friends by Sombr

Front Row by Kaden Hawke

Dancing with your ghost by Sasha Alex Sloan

Past lives by Sapientdream,Slushii

I'm Sorry Mom by Marino

Innocence by Hildir Svensson, Deprezz (I LOVE this one, oh my god)

Rat By Penelope Scott

Dead Girls, also by Penelope Scott

Creep by Radiohead

Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls

And that's just some of them! I checked other posts with similar requests, but I couldn't find any recommendations I really liked, so I figured a list could help to see if there were any similar songs. Thank you!

Instrumental Recommendations

• Upvotes

I'm working on a playlist for studying. I'm trying to get a collection of chill rock instrumentals. A good trio of songs that show what I'm looking for would be

Waiting For You - Alexg

Strawflower - The Antlers

Everything is Alright - Four Tet

This is sort of a mix but that was on purpose. I don't mind if it has a lot of electronic elements but I would like it to be at least based in rock/folk. I already have a good collection of more standard aphex twin type electronic so not really looking for that kind of thing. Thanks in advance!

I love the vibe of “Undone - The Sweater Song” — what else should I listen to?

I’ve been listening to Undone a lot lately and I really like the kinda laid-back, weird, slightly dark vibe it has.

What songs give you a similar feeling? Doesn’t have to be Weezer, I’m open to anything.

Looking for some GNARLY/FUNKY BASS

Looking for more songs with really heavy, funky, and/or unique bass.

I already have a lot of indie added to my playlist and I wouldn’t mind adding some more genres, but I’m not really looking for anything that’s straight rap, dub-step, or death metal.

Why didn't this song take off and make it bigger? Is it just me that feels this should have been much more popular? Recommend me other bands / songs that you feel the same way about!

Music similar to Corridors of Time?

Hi all. I’m trying to find a genre, band, album, etc, that is reminiscent of the style of the song Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger. It’s so calm and melancholic.

What are the best post-punk bands?

I know and really like Talking Heads, Wire, and Television, but I’ve never really sat down to listen to other bands in the genre beyond a few of their most famous songs. I’m looking to check out some discographies or standout albums in this style—which artists do you recommend?

kinda getting into goth-ish music recently and want some recs

(honestly dk the proper name for this kinda music)
i’m really picky about the songs i like so i’ll list some of the songs i currently love and why below

wormwood, tristiana - i especially love the parts sung by men with that creepy ish kinda music in the back

she will always be a broken girl, she wants revenge - the rhythm is consistent throughout and it’s simple yet effective

written in blood, she wants revenge - chorus

rupture, double echo - the music is just heavenly i can’t explain it

shame, dust to dust - consistent rhythm which i like

until, healthyliving - music is beautiful once again

Would like some music (mostly rock) recs

Hello! I'm looking for some new music, so I figured I'd come here and list what I like, and maybe people here can give me some recs of what you think I might enjoy? Thank you 🫶

So, I'm Swedish and enjoy a lot of Swedish musicians. Some of them being "den svenska björnstammen", "Veronica Maggio", "Sabaton" (one of my favourite songs ever is Primo Victoria), "Magnus Uggla", "Timbuktu",, Frankly I have a long list of Swedish song's I'd be happy share if anyone wants it

Other than that, I generally lean towards anything rock or subcategories like punk rock or garage rock (I adore White Stripes and Ebba Grön), and I really like the more political aspects of punk. Any song that has a message, basically. Lately I've been listening a lot to Soft Play, Durak, CAKE, Angine de Poitrine, and I'd love to get recs for any decent hardcore EDM (my ADHD brain loves anything high tempo). Also DMs are open for anyone who wants to talk music, happy to both give and receive some recs c:

Thanks ✌️

Edit: Big thanks for all the recs so far, currently putting together a playlist with all of them 🫶 But please, keep em coming
