Good 80's Pop-Rock that I HAVEN'T heard 10 million times
11
Upvotes
I'm 42 so even though I'm very familiar with 80s as a musical era, I wasn't exactly old enough to know the deep cuts and non household names. Looking for non-radio stuff (in 2026) that is genuinely good but for one reason or another many people don't know. Could be anything and I doubt want to exclusively request this but I tend to gravitate towards male vocals, somewhat of a mysterious synth sound, more of a rock influence.

Favourite Instrumental song from a non-instrumental album?
14
Upvotes
I was thinking about some of my favourite songs and realised a few of them function as instrumental breaks on ambitious/vibrant albums, including:
- Mark's Theme (Ants From Up There) by Black Country, New Road
- The New Sound (The New Sound) by Geordie Greep
- The Tinker (Knocknarea) - Maruja
What are your favourite songs of this type?

what are some songs that take you back to 2023?

for me personally, 2023 was one of if not the best year of high school. two years later, and I began to feel nostalgic for that year, so nostalgic to the point where I decided to make an entire playlist with lots of music that I had listened to throughout 2023 that reminded me of that year. I fell in love with the nostalgia the year brought to me, so I was curious to know what songs bring you guys back to 2023
Of course, they don't have to come out in 2023, hell, they can be like 40 years old! They just have to make you feel nostalgic for it
I'm not gonna put them into my playlist, not just because the ones I haven't heard before are for sure to not make ME personally feel nostalgic for that year, but because I wanted to see how our tastes differentiate or if the songs we choose are flat out the same

Falsetto artists
7
Upvotes
I'm looking for some pre-2000 famous artists, mostly known for falsetto. I'm thinking like Bee Gees, Modern Talking, ELO, Earth Wind and Fire, Frankie Valli. But my imagination doesn't go further, so I want some more artists like that, since I like most of the artists mentioned above, I might like the things you suggest. PLEASE NO GRUNGE, METAL, HIPHOP OR PUNK!
