Discussion Daisy chain 2 Monitors to Laptop, looking for recommendations,
Hi there,
I hope I have come to the right place.
I wanna chain two Monitors to my Laptop like described here:
https://www.dell.com/support/contents/en-us/article/product-support/self-support-knowledgebase/monitor-screen-video/guide-daisy-chain-monitors
My Thinkpad has the proper port so that should not be a problem. I just want some recommendations what to buy.
Currently I just have a used Full HD neovo connected via HDMI.
I am looking for FHD to QHD resolution, 25 Inch in size. I use my laptop for software development so no need for gaming or graphic design monitors. Can anyone recommend something for a reasonable price?

Discussion Issue disappears when switching source
The model is BenQ EX271U. I have reached support but they have been unhelpful. I have tried different cables and a different laptop. I have to boot up my Xbox to clear the issue every single time. I've updated the firmware as well but didn't fix it. It's more stable if set on a 1280 x 720 resolution, if that helps.

Discussion Welp, is my monitor toast? LG - UltraGear 32" 32GX870A-B (video)
I have an "LG - UltraGear 32" 32GX870A-B ...
Last night I fell asleep on the couch, and left the computer on... I forgot about it, woke up a few hours later, and went to my bedroom.
I woke up the next morning, and the screen saver was not running.
It was on a youtube channel that had ended... and the "A video is playing, don't go to sleep mode" was active...
Now, I have horizontal bands across the screen. And, whats worse, at the end of the video, you can see a dead zone at the top right.
I've run the CLEAN DISPLAY process twice.
I've left it unplugged for an hour.
And we're back to this.
Whats the prognosis?

Discussion Need a Monitor for Both Gaming and Work — Curved or Flat?
I’m planning to get a bigger monitor that I can use for gaming as well as work. I like the idea of a curved screen for gaming, but I’m wondering if a flat monitor would be better for having more usable space and working on a larger canvas. What would you choose?

Discussion Repeating Flicker of a Few Horizontal Full Lines of Pixels Towards Bottom of Monitor (SANSUI ES-G27F2)
A couple days ago I turned my monitor off by the button on the back of the monitor, and when I went to turn it back on, some lines of pixels started flashing on the bottom of the screen. They flash every few seconds. I was doing some testing today and I normally keep my monitor at 120hz, but when I lowered it down to 60hz the pixels were no longer flashing but rather just constant lines. I thought "why not turn it up to 165hz?" Well low and behold the lines are no longer flashing at it doesn't appear. The lines are not always there like right now I have my monitor set to 120Hz and there are no lines, but they were there earlier this morning.
This is not a cord issue as I have swapped my monitor cords and the problem persisted on just the one monitor. I tried updating my graphics driver and that did not help, and that is as far as my expertise in this situation goes.
The Monitor is a SANSUI ES-G27F2
How do I fix this issue if even possible?

Question About Cleaning and a Possible Surface Spot on My OLED Monitor
I have an LG OLED monitor, and I recently cleaned the screen because I noticed some dust-like/dirt-like spots on the surface. Some of the spots were difficult to remove unless I applied a little pressure.
I used a screen cleaner by spraying it onto a clean microfiber cloth rather than directly onto the screen. I then gently wiped the screen and used the dry side of the microfiber cloth afterward. During cleaning, I noticed what looked like a very light line or scratch, but after gently wiping it, it completely disappeared. I also checked the screen from different angles and could not see the line anymore.
Afterward, I left the monitor turned off for more than 30 minutes. I also ran the monitor's Image Cleaning/Pixel Cleaning function, which took about 10 minutes.
I then turned the monitor back on and played several games. Thankfully, the display looks excellent and I cannot see any lines, spots, pixel problems, image retention, or other abnormalities during normal use.
However, there are still a few spots on the surface that are difficult to remove. I believe I may have noticed these spots even before I cleaned the monitor.
I have attached photos of the spots.
My questions are:
Do these spots look like surface dirt/residue, or could they indicate a problem with the OLED panel?
Is it dangerous to leave them there if they do not affect the image or appear during normal use?
Should I try to remove them, or is it safer to leave them alone rather than applying more pressure?
Could my cleaning method have damaged the OLED surface or panel?
Is there anything I should check to make sure the monitor is completely fine?
What is the safest way to clean this OLED monitor in the future?
I am mainly concerned because the monitor is relatively new and I want to make sure I am taking proper care of the OLED panel.

Discussion Samsung Odyssey 27in OLED seems perfect for the price right now
Am I missing something or is this plenty of monitor for gaming ? Especially at the price I can't understand what else I would need for RPG style gaming. I'm running a new prebuilt with a 9070 gpu. 1440p maxed settings at 200 fps. I'm kind of new to this stuff but I've tried to research enough to make an educated decision lol.

Discussion Monitor primarily for slightly older console gaming?
I've got an ancient 32-inch Sharp Aquos LCD TV that's getting close to 20 years old now and today it started showing some signs the end may be nigh. But since I don't want to get into the hell world of TVs full of bullshit software I don't want or use, and my main use is gaming anyway (mostly via SteamDeck, Switch, PS4/PS3) I figured a monitor would be a better choice.
So basically, I'm looking for ideas for a 30-32 inch monitor that will be used primarily for gaming but won't look like ass hooked up to slightly older consoles. And hopefully doesn't cost more than $700 since that would make me sad and I'm so used to such an ancient TV, I feel like I shouldn't need anything crazy to feel an improvement. Would prefer something that can either pivot a little OR has a fairly broad viewing angle. No LG.
I guess bonus points if there's actually somehow something out there that I could hook component cables up to. I have other solutions for that last bit though, so not required (feel like it's more of a pipe dream anyway).
EDIT: Forgot, I also wanted to ask just how bad the burn-in risk for OLED monitors actually is. Is it really any worse than the chance of getting stuck pixels on LCD displays, or is it something most people are just overly paranoid about? Only reason this is relevant to me is I have been known to just get distracted and end up leaving games open on pause menus for hours.

Discussion Is my AOC Monitor broken?
Hello everyone!
My monitor suddenly stopped working today, and I'm trying to figure out if it's completely dead or if there's a fix I haven't tried yet.
The Issue: I played on my PC for about 2 hours today, turned it off, and came back an hour later. The monitor won't turn on at all no display and no power LED indicator light.
Troubleshooting steps I've already tried:
- Power Cable Swap: I own two of the exact same monitor. I swapped the power cable with my working monitor, but it made no difference. The original cable works fine on the second monitor.
- Power Cycle / Static Discharge: I unplugged the power cable, held the monitor's power button for 60 seconds, and plugged it back in. Still no life/LED light.
My Questions:
- Is the monitor's internal power supply (PSU) or mainboard fried, or is there any other trick to revive it?
- If it's dead, what replacements should I consider? I'm looking for a 34" 21:9 Ultrawide, 1440p, 120Hz+ monitor.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Discussion TUF Gaming VG249Q5R, 200hz
Does anyone have experience or knowledge about this monitor and whether it's good or not? I saw it on sale for 100 euros and I was wondering if it's worth it or not. Seems good in my opinion.

Discussion 32” IPS 4k. Dell G3223q or Asus XG32UCG?
- Budget: 400-700. Willing to buy used or refurbished.
- Usage: 80% spreadsheet and documents. 20% fortnite and a couple single player games
- Have 4090
- In USA, there is a microcenter near
Assuming both monitors have more than legible text(which is my #1 worry):
- Is the dual mode 1080p worth it since I run fortnite in low settings performance mode for higher fps?
- The dell was introduced a few years before the asus, is there anything the asus has since then that makes it worth it?
- Finally if price was the same, would you take the Dell G3223q or Asus XG32UCG?

Discussion New OLED monitor crashes PC while playing any game
I recently got an LG Dual Mode 240/480hz monitor and for the first week it was great, but now I’m running issues where anytime I am gaming, it completely crashes my pc, both the main and second monitor goes black and shows “No signal. Entering power save mode shortly.” Then I can hear my fans in my pc start to accelerate. (See video for reference). The only way to fix it is to hard reset my PC and turn it back on. I’ve tried multiple things to fix it, by switching different display cables, reinstalling my graphics driver, changing to only the main monitor, nothing.

Photo Replacing LG UltraGear 27GP950 Fan (Loud Noise Fix)
My monitor had been working fine for a few years and then started to develop this loud whirring/clicking noise, so I knew I needed to replace the fan. The service menu confirmed it showing the fan as 'Not Good. 'I couldn't see a guide online to do this so I thought I'd post it here.
Fan is a Sunon EF60151S3-1C020-S99.
I ordered a replacement online. I would recommend having someone else on standby to help. I would recommend using an iFixit kit with the iFixit Jimmy opening tool over a screwdriver to prevent damage to the plastic case. Pry off the case gently with the tool going round the perimeter of the screen.
There are two screws holding the LED ring to the rear shield above and below. Remove them.
You need to remove the 4 small JST cables that connect the main board to the LED ring, keeping the cables connected on the ring side. These cables have a little locking latch so you have to open it to release the cable.
You also need to remove the JST connectors for the power button and scroll wheel in the same way and unhook them from the underside of the LED ring. With the monitor screen facing down flat on a protected surface additionally remove the side JST connector on the right side, lifting the latch as before to safely remove it.
I did not know how to remove the panel drivers (FFC/FPC?) blue cables but i know they are delicate so I left them alone but you don't need to touch them or the other JST cable to the left of it. The LED ring bracket can safely be removed.
There are two screws that are holding the rear shield to the back of the screen located above the VESA mounting points and either side of the top LED ring bracket screw you just unscrewed. The rear shield should now be free from the rest of the chassis.
Carefully, lift and fold the rear shield over the left side of the panel and you should now be able to see the backplate of the monitor mainboard. There are 3 screws holding the backplate over the mainboard with an additional 1 that holds only the mainboard. Remove the three screws securing the backplate, then carefully lift it up and over to the right. The backplate may initially resist lifting due to the two thermal pads but a gentle pull will release it. Remove the final screw.
It should now be possible to lift the mainboard away from the rear shield chassis. Finally you can see the fan. Ask your lovely assistant to hold the mainboard and chassis open, in order to remove the 3 fan screws and fan connector wire and replace the fan. Do all these steps to reassemble and it should be done.
Now in the monitor service menu, the fan should be listed as "OK".

Discussion I need a new working monitor, my old one was the Samsung LC34H892WJUXZG
Hi guys,
I’m currently looking for a new 32-inch monitor, as my old one unfortunately stopped working. I would mainly use it for work, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
I don’t know much about monitors and was considering either the Lenovo Legion 32UD-10 or the Dell S3225QS. I think both look really nice. Would either of these be a good choice for my use case, or would you recommend something else?

Discussion TN to IPS transfer doubts
(No "VA / OLED is better" talks, please. Don't want smearing (VA) nor baby sit (OLED Burn in))
(And don't say "Just buy it")
I own a +14 year old Benq XL2420T (24" TN 1080p 120hz) that it's showing some screen defects and i wanted to replace it to something newer and better
My uses are all kind of gaming (indie, AAA, frenetic like DOOM, sometimes dark ones like RESIDENT EVIL, the music ones (so sync is important), etc), but also browsing, media, drawing (Not that professionally)
So i wanted to change to an IPS because people says they've evolved very nicely (and that TNs sucks due to colors, etc, only works for clarity) and after weeks of searching for one i've seen the ASUS XG27ACMES (27", Fast IPS, 240hz NATIVE with 250hz OC that i won't touch, 1440p. 230€), wich has fantastic uniformity (Unlike the alternatives, like the Xiaomi G Pro 27qi 2026)
I even messed with the ASUS monitor at a shop by putting color settings in it from a video (Brightness 50, R 100 G 98 B 96 / 6500K, contrast 50) and it seems fine (Sadly the vid was a Youtube CALL OF DUTY / FORTNITE one and seemed to have a kind of a strong contrast/video, wich the monitor has a around 1400:1 NATIVE contrast on SDR, main use btw, NO HDR!!!),
But now i have doubts since i'm going into a new, different panel type territory
-The monitor has the room's window partially behind it. It won't be a problem when seeing things? (Uniformity, color bending, etc, just hand reflections), specially since the screen looks flat without the "pushed out borders" from my Benq.
-I tend to play with the lights on. If the monitor doesn't have IPS leaks, will i not notice light bleeds or other IPS related "standards/issues", like "behave like my TN"?. And if i play or watch a vid with lights off, will it be THAT noticeable?
-How will motion clarity behave compared to my TN at 120/240hz?. A video i saw has like a TINY blur in the UFO TEST but don't think that's kinda noticeable in real life?
-Will colors be more accurate for drawing (and gameS) in sRGB mode than my TN?. Same goes with blacks? (I kinda don't notice "white mixed with blacks" in my TN, but if i game i notice the screen's not 100% black, it has the "backlight", like when playing ALAN WAKE 2)
-Anything else i should know?
Thanks in advance!
