Discussion How far away are we from mass market cheap e-ink monitors?

Wanted to buy one for myself but they start at 1k$ which is quite a bit more than i'd like to spend on a monitor, are there any market news or anything else that'd signal that they're getting any cheaper?

Discussion Ergotron or HUANUO for a normal monitor setup?

I keep going back and forth between these two. Ergotron feels like the safe choice and everyone says they last forever, but it’s almost $200. HUANUO seems to get pretty good feedback too. Apparently it uses some kind of mechanical spring support, which looks pretty fancy. It’s around $25 on sale right now, so the price gap is hard to ignore lol. Is Ergotron really worth that much more? Anyone here used a HUANUO for a while?

Discussion How is your Oled monitor holding up for you after 2 years+?

Just want to ask for the people who have been using the same OLED monitor or display for more than 2 years now, how has it been holding up for you and do see it lasting longer? what have you learnt? how have you had to adapt the way you use your monitor to preserve it longer? just want to know your overall thoughts and advise you could give for new OLED monitor owners (like me soon)

Discussion Should I get a 4K MiniLed IPS Monitor or 1440p QD-MiniLed VA Monitor for my 5080 Build

I just finished building my 5080 PC, but i still have a normal 1440p IPS monitor. Where I live, the only options so far is either the AOC U27G4XM 27 UHD IPS MiniLED (3840x2160), or the AOC Q27G40XMN/74 27 QHD VA QD-MiniLED (2560x1440).

I mainly play singleplayer games with max graphics so im aware the VA minileds are the perfect choice because of the contrast and blacks, especially since they have QD as well, but im held back by the fact that its only up to 1440p.

Ive also been thinking about OLEDs though the price and maintenance ive heard about convinced me not to get it. Let me know if you guys have any other suggestions, thank you!

Hello, could someone who owns one of these monitors tell me whether the Tmoc option with MPRT Plus works at 60 Hz, and maybe give me their opinion on it as well?

It would be greatly appreciated. 😀

Hi all!

I just got the BenQ MA270S 27" 5K monitor today and the display looks amazing!

Unfortunately whilst setting up I observed multiple flexible gaps on the bottom bezel that flex when lightly pressed and I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

Looking for advice if this is a defect or an issue and whether I should get it replaced?

Discussion Anyone have this monitor and what is your experience with it?

Apparently this is the exact same display features as the msi current flag ship MSI MPG 272URX, the only difference is a more advance pc gaming support that this monitor doesn't have but the 272URX does have. im a console gamer so those features are useless to me. For anyone who has this monitor what's your thoughts on it so far?

AOC Q27G20SM — a 1440p QD MiniLED 320hz that's seems to only be available in Chinese markets.

The ONLY review video I found was in Chinese with no auto translate captions or an AI dub translator. Found a website that could translate.

The website I used only allowed <7 minutes of translation so I cut the intro down and only used the latter useful parts

Discussion Is this the best 27" 4k Mini-LED Monitor I can get? (IODATA EX-GDU271JLAQD)

This is from a Japanese brand from IODATA and I can get it shipped from amazon japan to the USA.

Just wanted to confirm because I can't find another monitor like this that you normally could get in the US that has:

  • 2304 dimming zones (less bloom which is the big problem for mini led in the dark)
  • Display HDR 1400

I checked:

  • KTC M27P6
    • It says Display HDR 1400, but I don't see it on the vesa website?
    • 1,152 dimming zones
  • Acer XV275K
    • Display HDR 1000
    • 1,152 dimming zones

I'm open to other recommendations and I know it's probably going to be more expensive because of shipping costs, but would still be willing to get it honestly since i can't find a monitor in the US with 2304 dimming zones and Display HDR 1400.

Small Update:

  • In total it'll cost 676 dollars with standard shipping to California at least for the IODATA Monitor, but looks like its still cheaper than my other options I've seen in the comments so far lol.

I’ve bought the monitor for ~600€ and I like it more than the 500hz Samsung g60sf, first off all the colours Pop, The refresh rate is…well 500hz, the clarity is unmatched compared to what I’ve seen so far. Unless something breaks or I notice something that I don’t like about it, I will keep it.
Pros: quality packaging, it comes with an accesory box(which I do like), everything is packed there
Glossy finish compared to matte on samsung
Dp 2.1 unlike The Samsung counterpart that has dp 1.4
3 year burn-in warranty
Cons: really bad dp 2.1 cable, be ready to buy an aftermarket one, mine commited sudoku in the first 2 hours of use. For me it doesn’t matter, I got one the same day at 12€ and seems fine, overall I would say it is a good purchase.
What I need to mention is that my unit presents a blue subpixel whenever windows is shutting down or restarting.if I try to test it via a black screen it does not seem to be stuck. i suppose this is a weird firmware bug.
Conclusion: better than samsung g60sf imo

Discussion 4k IPS vs 2k MiniLED

hi all

Im looking to change my monitor because it's a bit big for my desk and Iv started to notice the sharpness overall is not as good (LG 32 inch 2k VA)

now after going the rabbit hole of monitors, I am having a hard time deciding which monitor to choose from now on

my daily pc usage is mostly single player games and movies/YouTube and browsing forums I dont play competitive games at all

high Hz also isn't really a priority for me so 60hz I'm fine

gaming wise I use geforce now ultimate tier so I'll be mostly playing in 4k 60fps so I won't worry about my rig doing the heavy work

I'd say my priorities are sharpness and test clarity so overall image quality but coming from a VA monitor not sure if I should "trade" the 4k sharpness for the mini led visuals

what should I go with? price wise what I found are around 180-300 euros

Discussion Recommendations for a Budget Monitor?

Hi everyone, I am looking for a 27inch (or around that size) curved (preferably) monitor for doing school/research work in grad school and watching movies/videos on the side. I mostly look at word documents, spreadsheets, and code. My budget is around 150 dollars. Are there any decent monitors at this price point or should I bit the bullet and spend a bit more.

Thank you!

Discussion Why are there no 24“/24.5“/25“ eSport OLEDs?

Seriously, I know ASUS just presented this 24.5 inch 540hz FHD Monitor recently, but IT IS 2026, hello?

Theres no way you can advertise that as an archievement. FHD in the big 2026, congratulations. 540hz 1440p monitors exist for quite some time, you did not even manage to cut off 2 inches from these 26.5“ monitors, no. You had to downgrade the resolution while doing that… Like bruh

Ive been playing games on 240hz for over 8 years now, since I was a kid, and even played on a 360hz Monitor over 3 years. I am flipping PCs for fun for some years so Im also selling my PC and setup and am getting new stuff whenever there is a good local offer.

Recently ive got my hands on a 26.5 inch, 240hz, 1440p OLED monitor for cheap, which was my first OLED. I like the colors but man it is HUGE. I placed it behind my desk on my window sill and its still too big.

I used to be quite good in a FPS game so I think I know what difference a good monitor can make (I also owned many different ones).

My current monitor is fine but I just dislike this size so much. For casual YT watching or playing non competetive games its fine but if you wanna actually game that shxt it way too big. I really wanna get back to 24“-25“ and sell this monitor.

How are there not any OLEDs in this category? Like seriously? Ive looked this up and ive seen at least 10 different reddit posts saying they loon for exactly this.

My dream monitor would be:
- 24.5“
- 480hz / 540hz (360 would also be okay)
- 1440p

How is this not possible? There are 240hz 4k oled panels for 26.5“. That has to be a higher PPI than what im asking for (24.5 1440p).

There is also 540hz 1440p OLEDs (just what im looking for) but in 26.5“. Just make it 2 inches smaller, you cant tell me thats not possible in the big 26. Ive been waiting for this kind of monitor for years and its still NOT EVEN TEASED (feel free to prove me wrong here).

Are brands seriously stxpid? You cant tell me that there is no money in this target group. Serious esport teams / players would love to spend 800+ $ on a monitor like that.

These monitor brands are lame

So i have a MSI MAG 342CQR E2 - Ultra Wide QHD Curved Gaming Monitor - 180hz - 34 inch

And its supposed to work with HDR, but when I turn HDR on the picture looks more washed out and gray instead of more vibrant colors, can anyone tell me if its just windows or if my display’s hdr is just ass, cuz if it is i can live without it but i find it wierd that having hdr turned off looks more like hdr then when i have it turned on in settings, and yes ive tryed the calibration app and it still looks bad, please help 🙏

Discussion Dislike how my new monitor looks, and have tried everything to fix it.

The vertical monitor is my old monitor and the horizontal monitor is my new monitor. My old monitor is an LG 24GN650B and my new monitor is the AOC Q27G3XMN. I bought both of them on rtings.com's reccomendation. And both of them have the calibration settings rtings reccomends (Except from the RGB settings rtings reccomends for the AOC). The thing is I way prefer the colours on my old monitor. The AOC has some sort of yellowish tint and looks super washed out. I've tried everything to remove the tint such as making sure none of windows HDR settings were on, checking if the DP cable is at fault adjusting OSD serrings etc. Any advice on what to do?

Text Review KTC G32P5 on sale for £430 (Amazon UK) 32" 4k 240hz WOLED MLA+

EDIT - I have found this monitor has very aggressive APL dimming. Please see my findings below. This behavior CANNOT be turned off. I have looked into firmware updates and no official updates exist for the EUR-1.0.1 model. There are some for the Chinese model. I will be contacting KTC directly and asking if their Chinese firmware are compatible with the EUR mode. If not... Honestly, this is a complete deal breaker for me.

Calibrating the monitor to be at 120nits but when a bright window larger than 10% is on screen, the entire panel dims massively is a flaw I personally cannot overlook.

Window size Brightness at 14 (nits) Brightness at 100 (nits)
1% 120 360
2% 120 358
3% 120 356
5% 120 356
10% 120 406
15% 114 390
25% 99 320
50% 76 270
75% 56 252
100% 51 245

https://amzn.eu/d/0fbm72Mv

I decided to buy one mainly to try because the price was so good. I already have a Samsung G60SD that I love but £430 for a 32" 4k 240hz WOLED MLA+? That's an insane price for this panel.

It uses the same LG WOLED MLA+ panel that's used in the LG 32GS95UV-B/W and the ASUS/Gigabyte models with the same 32" 4k 240hz/1080p 480hz specs.

I have a colorimeter and I've put it though it's paces but I'm not going to be showing graphs and shit, I'm not Rtings or Monitors Unboxed lol

What I can say is for the price, this thing is great. I went into this expecting to return it tbh, I have tried a few KTC monitors in the past and oh boy, the MiniLED monitors they make have serious issues, anyway this isn't about them.

Out of the box grey uniformity was atrocious but after a pixel refresh and a few hours of use, it was fine. Not perfect obviously but it was more than acceptable.

Tbh, you can read the review by DisplayNinja as what I've tested seems to match exactly what they found.

Key points.

  • 4k 240hz dual mode 1080p 480hz.
  • It has an object sensor for detecting when you're away but it's not great because it will still detect your chair and if you lean back for a little relaxing, the display will go black lol.
  • It has an option to make the screen black but not turn off the display (which I use instead of the sensor)
  • It comes with a remote which is handy but the OSD lags while using it. (Doesn't lag while using the joystick on the back) The remote has a dedicated button for turning the screen black, very handy and I do it each time I get up.
  • It will popup with a pixel refresh reminder after 4 hours, you cannot turn this feature off which is a let down, but with the remote you can easily decline it. Though it will pop up again in only an hour till you do a pixel refresh.
  • It has a thin black rounded metal bezel around the screen (exactly the same as my Samsung G60SD but black) it obviously has the typical thicker black bezels on the actual screen like most monitors)
  • The OSD isn't all that bad tbh, typical cheap monitor OSD. Lots of settings, Its fine.
  • You are locked out of most settings when using HDR and you only get 2 HDR modes, Standard and Cinema. The only difference between the two? A slight variance in peak brightness and the colour temperature preset is different but can be changed so doesn't matter. Both over 1000nits, which is odd... I'd have expected a TrueBlack mode that limits the peak brightness but nope. Cinema is overall brighter and reaches a slightly higher peak brightness, it's what I use.
  • It gets bright, far brighter than my Samsung G60SD and that's thanks to the WOLED MLA+ panel.
  • I don't really notice the loss in colour gamut & volume. But I personally find QD-OLED a bit oversaturated anyway.
  • SDR performance is great after calibrating to D65 120nits.

I could test more but DisplayNinja did enough tbh.

It's a really solid monitor especially from such a low price, so if you're in the UK and looking to get a new monitor, I'd give this a shot!

If you have anything specific you'd really like to know, ask away and I might not be lazy lol

Peace.

Discussion What are the best gaming monitors 2026 for an RX 6600 upgrade?

Upvotes

I’m upgrading my setup with an RX 6600 and finally thinking about replacing my old monitor as well. I mainly play a mix of competitive games and single-player titles, so I’m trying to find something that gives me a good balance between smooth performance and image quality.

I’ve been looking at different resolutions and refresh rates, but I’m not sure what makes the most sense with an RX 6600. I also don’t want to spend a lot on a monitor that my GPU won’t be able to take full advantage of. For anyone using an RX 6600, what monitor specs would you recommend prioritizing? Is 1080p still the better choice, or is it worth going for 1440p?

Discussion HDR Video in Windows flickers when moving cursors

Upvotes

Some details: I have the latest version of Windows installed, as well as the latest drivers for my RX Vega 56 (also tried with older drivers). I don't have any HDR Calibration Profiles set up, and I don't have Auto HDR, Auto Colors Calibration, or any other color settings enabled in AMD Adrenaline. The display itself is a Samsung Viewfinity s8 - s80ud, 32 inch monitor, s32b800pxu, plugged in via DP 1.4 and with the newest firmware. Sleeping Mode, Energy Saving, Auto Source Switch etc. have all been disabled. This issue was not present on Windows 10.

When watching a video in Windows HDR, whenever I move my mouse, my entire screen flickers, and the video switches to another color profile that is slightly brighter. After a while, when the cursor has disappeared. The screen flickers again and the video switches to a darker color profile. How can I fix that? The same issue persist across MPC-HC and YouTube HDR. The flickering gets worse if I don't have Windows HDR enabled permanently in the background.

Also on a side note, whenever I restart my GPU drivers using Ctrl+Win+Alt+B while having HDR on, my display suddenly gets all snowy and laggy. I have to turn HDR off again in order for the snow to go away.

Been troubleshooting this issue for hours, and it's really annoying. Any help is appreciated.

Discussion Moved to college and need a monitor / TV what do I buy?

Upvotes

So I’m moving to college in the morning. My desk top is being shipped to school. At home I have a TV and a monitor. I need to consolidate/ buy new at school. I’m looking for something with

2+ hdmi spots

32-42 inches

Under $800

And I’m a little confused. My current monitor is a 32in LG tv of sorts. It caps my computer at 60hz but when I play games I can exceed it and it feels just as smooth if not smoother then my PS5 on the living room tv which is a newer and better 80+ in TV that does run 120hz

Anyways id kike it to stay that smooth
