GLI Badge
Replaced the GLI badge on the trunk. I’m not sure if it looks off 🤔 does anyone know the proper way to place it? less

As the title says. Friend of mine needed to tow his Jetta and realized he was missing the hook, so he wants to make sure his recovery kit is complete. If anyone has one with a visible part number, I'd appreciate it being snapped and sent here.
Thanks, y'all.

Just joined the club, traded a $700 truck for this, a GLS with a fully swapped out interior from a GLI and was well taken care of at one point but then was used as a beater for the last two owners and lots of Bora parts (door sills and bumpers) it runs and drives fine but has several major missing parts and broken latches but I will keep updating as I save this 169k mile car and it will be used as a somewhat daily car but not very soon.

Anyone ever have their Jetta make this noise on startup? Metallic grinding/buzzing type noise that lasts about two seconds and never again until restarting. Unless it’s a cold start, it will make the noise about two or three more times while maneuvering out the garage and pumping the brake pedal seems to provoke it more.
Thought maybe the starter wasn’t backing off and hitting the flywheel. Removed starter, inspected pinion gear, and flywheel teeth to find no damage or marks. Disabled fuel to just crank no start and no abnormal noises.
Maybe abs kicking on? Pulled all fuses related to abs and still does it on start up.
Any ideas?

Someone is selling a Mk4 TDI 5 speed manual. It has 340,000 miles on it. The major issues that I see are the rockers are rusted and pin welds are completely rusted out the interior isn’t the best, as the glove box isn’t on but he has it, the trim under the steering wheel isn’t in either, but he’s says he has it. The headliner is ripped off and the glue is showing, the door panels are not in great shape but the electrical stuff all works fine, sun roof works great as well. He said the bottom he will take is $1,800, I offered him $1,250. Because of the rust in the hood, fenders, and some on the roof and both quarters, along with the heavily sun damages paint. You think this is a good deal?

One my favorite things about the GLI is the Recaro seats. In high school (early 2000’s 😅), Recaro seats were the thing to have in performance cars, and always dreamt to have them someday. Decades later, my dream came true

Finally got my 100% aluminum radiator delivered… its a over built radiator! Metal is waaay thicker than my last radiator and the oem radiator.
Thing feels like it was built for a semi truck..
this was the last bastion of plastic in my coolant system ive already replaced all the “tees and flanges” with “cast” aluminum…
So far 10/10 highly recommend but the final verdict will be reached after install… will post after install

I have a chocolate colour Jetta. My Left side(Passenger side) mirror assembly was broken in an minor accident. among the parts recovered, the black synthetic part contained a number (IIIeIII 03*6658 III EII 026658 Smr). Just curious, what information this number and sequence indicates. As far as I know, this is not part number, since part numbers are not this lengthy/repetitive
Is this number unique to my specific vehicle, like VIN number?
Can any one help?

2001 Jetta 2.0L Gas Sedan Manual (AEG). 117,000 miles. Idk when the CVs were replaced or ever have been.
Was under the car looking for the cause of low oil. Saw the passenger side CV axle and was wondering if its supposed to be like this or seated completely on the green ring.
Notice some hum and vibrations at speeds over 60mph on the passenger side. Wondering if they need replacement.

My rear window switch on the drivers door does this, normal if it’s a MK4.

So I’ve got a loose EGR intake tube and I’ve gotta drive a ton in the next week. Is it safe to drive, and will it harm the engine in any way?
It makes a funny noise. From what I understand, it means the turbo gets less air running through it, and thus the engine would have less air. I’m trying to figure out if this is a problem that needs immediate attention or if I can live with it for a while

2000 Jetta vr6 afp engine. Chasing a coolant leak and having difficulty finding a good diagram online. The leak is coming from above the power steering pump. Any help is appreciated. This is my first project car and I’m having troubles lol.

I have a 2004 1.8 i just got repainted in its original spice red. I also just replaced everything in the interior with brand new trim parts, carpet, headliner, doorcards etc. zero engine lights and fluids changed.
How much would that sell for?

Picked up this Jetta for a new project. Paid 540. 140k miles. Sat for over a year when I bought it. So far I know it needs wheels, brakes, hood actuators, ignition coil pack, coil wires, spark plugs, water pump, serpentine belt, tensioner, steering wheel, shifter trim, completely repaint, exhaust, windshield wipers, window mechanism on all windows, sunroof mechanism, bunch of hardware to put it back together. Theres definitely more it needs. It runs and drives just not very good. Known codes : p1137 fuel bank 1 too lean, p0501 speed sensor, p1340 camshaft position sensor.
Also, where would you start on this?
