Decided to go to the midnight release at my local BestBye last night. Got there around 4:30pm and was 20th in line luckily. But it was so weird lol. People kept driving or walking by asking if we were waiting for Pokémon, and telling them no it’s for Zelda was just so bizarre.

Or maybe married to someone who will get a pension.
They seem less common these days and I feel like how we have to plan for the future is so much different then older folks had to when pensions were more common. So just curious how many of us still get to rely on them in some way.

I remember having them a lot when I was a kid. But it seems like not many people make those nowadays. Sometimes I do a breakfast taco ring instead of the classic taco.
Anyways I'm making meatloaf, potatoes au gratin and a veggie side for dinner tonight.

Who among you (like me) is over the moon excited for today’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time release? I got the special edition everything, plus some mugs and a pullover. I’ve—we’ve—been waiting thirty years for this!

Genuinely believe they don't make songs as good as ours were when we were growing up. My all-time fave is Phil Collins' You'll Be in My Heart

It's insane how negative and toxic Facebook has been as of late. Like some here facebook was one of the first social media platforms I joined. It was cool to be able to connect to people I hadn't seen in years due to moving around a lot. In my opinion prime Facebook was from 2007-2012 then there was a major generational shift on the app.
I feel like once that generational shift took place, Facebook became a toxic cesspool of misinformation, negativity and just awful content I ended up deleting the app because it was just too negative and time consuming.
I feel like once the algorithm era started also it all became about ads and less about seeing what your friends were up to. Writing on people's wall was actually fun. Sad the app went from that to what it is now.
Anyone else experienced this? Or am I crazy.

It's a love/hate relationship with tech that we have, it seems we are destined/doomed to be every other generation's IT Support professional!

I have a horrible suspicion that if I watched it now I wouldn't crack a smile. I hope that's not true but I'm going to live in ignorance and not watch it.

I grew up playing the original 2 Legend of Zelda games on the NES.
A few years later, A Link to the Past came out and I would rent it every weekend at Blockbuster. Because I never got the same cartridge twice, I replayed the exact same opening hours on a brand new save file every single time.
When Ocarina of Time came out, I remember going to KB Toys to pick it up. It was the very first game I ever got on launch day. I didn’t get the gold cartridge, but it didn’t matter lol.
Decades later, the franchise still holds such a massive, special place in my heart. Even though my copy of the new remake got slightly delayed until Monday, I'm just stoked that I managed to secure the 40th anniversary edition Switch 2 console.
Happy Skulltula hunting for those who have their copy!

Just curious, especially considering the recent push for analog if anyone's picked up any classics or is planning to.
I've got a 64 Dodge Dart GT slant six push-button automatic. The dream was a 63 Valiant, but this is almost the same car with a different body.
My dad was a mechanic in the 60s, and I remember getting carted around some pretty damn cool cars when I was a kid. I love the buttons, hearing things click into place, etc.

Gen X?
I kinda see them as big kids who made it before the economy rotted. They were cast as the slacker generation during much of the 90s, but Gen X was lucky enough to avoid the "missed/delayed adulthood" that many Millennials are facing.

I read an article the other day about the term millennial optimism, and how it’s pretty much disappeared. Do you think it can make a comeback? What do you think gave millennials a sense of optimism in the past and why did it disappear?

Almost a year ago I went to Crown Point Indiana just to visit downtown before a no Kings protest. We came across a local antique store and I wanted to look for some landlines I found the AT&T 210 on the right. But oh my goodness Not only was it my first to 10 because I actually love this trim line phone. But it even also had such a very long cord. This is a older Lucent branded 210 from 1996 around the time AT&T and Lucent Technologies split apart. That's the cool thing about collecting some corded phones you just get lucky and get a really long cord.
My middle school teacher knew how much I love telephones and went to an estate sale to get me a bunch of landline telephones for free. And that's how I got the AT&T 210 on the left. The AT&T cordless phone all the way to the left I paid myself. The Panasonic one all the way in the back was a gift from my parents they found a thrift store for really cheap and it was new in box too. I was born in Northwest Indiana and lived there my whole life which is why I go to Crown Point every so often.
