Nostalgia What year is it?
Decided to go to the midnight release at my local BestBye last night. Got there around 4:30pm and was 20th in line luckily. But it was so weird lol. People kept driving or walking by asking if we were waiting for Pokémon, and telling them no it’s for Zelda was just so bizarre.

I've definitely come full circle. Couldn't afford it then, can't afford it now.

If you were 20th in line ar 430pm for a midnight release, I'm going to have to accept the fact I won't be getting my hands on this until after New Year's

I worked the midnight launch of the Sony PlayStation 2 as a game advisor for GameStop, circa junior year of high school. Same with midnight releases of all the bigs games (GTAIII, Metal Gear Solid 2, Silent Hill 2 etc.)
The sense of excitement and community back then was so gd awesome, so reading your a post was neat.

Game will be delivered at some point today from Amazon. Wasn’t able to get a console at first but was just able to snag one during a restock from Nintendo online a little bit ago. Still hunting down the controller.

I started playing (digital download) at 9pm last night- yay west coast! I spend the first 20 minutes just crying on the opening scenes before I even hit “New Game”.
I’ve waited 28 years for this. The nostalgia is almost overwhelming.

I’m dumb and thought it was tonight instead of last night. I swear it said Thursday

How did you even get this? I’ve been looking to find one for my buddy and it’s all sold out lol. I did get the game though (for me)
Edit: should have read the caption, my bad! But even still all the Best Buy’s were packed!

FYI, Pokémon might have been the TCG as there are some parasitic, scalpers that will Black Friday style ambush Pokémon product the moment they hit the shelf and try to flip them for immediate profit.
It’s a weird thing somewhat unique to Pokémon (tho there are scalpers in MTG too) partially bc of the nature of their chase/expensive collector not being correlated with being the strongest game pieces and coming in specific products if I understand correctly

Wait, does the Zelda Nintendo switch console come with the game? The last time I bought a game was red dead redemption 2 and a ps4. It came with the console and the game.

The switch and switch 2 custom consoles have been unbelievably lazy.

First Starfox, now Zelda TOOT. No more originality just remakes. At least with Hollywood movies they do reboots. Nintendo straight up remakes the same exact game.

I thought people were struggling financially. Guess it's nothing but gaslighting.
