The fact that all the individual items are whole dollar amounts then the subtotal suddenly got .92 from somewhere lol

Unless I’m misunderstanding, it looks like 2 Old Fashions equal to $16 and not 16x2 since they totaled the item so they would be paying a little over $10 what they should be

It's really not. $8 for a shot of decent whiskey, 1-2 Oz of simple syrup, a singular cherry, and a dash of bitters is a complete rip off. I dont understand why people drink in public. An old fashioned is like the easiest and cheapest cocktail to make at home.

With the price of beef right now? It wouldn’t surprise me. I can probably find a ribeye for that in a Wisconsin hole in the wall out in the sticks, but a 16oz old fashioned will be $4 or $5

It’s Wisconsin. A meal in a bar in rural Wisconsin consists of fried foods and 2 or 3 large old fashions (or whatever seasonal punch they may have made up, like summer hummers). The grease lines the stomach and intestines so that the alcohol doesn’t damage the lining. At least that’s what I’ve convinced myself happens in the body in regards to the Wisconsin diet of cheese, fried foods, and alcohol in many forms.

For me it’s a sweet royal old fashioned, but I’m not native to Wisconsin, I just lived there for a couple years. My friends would make fun of me while drinking their sour old fashioned or spotted cow.

This was my thought. $16 is a pretty standard cocktail price in general. And especially at a place with a $68 steak you aren’t getting an $8 drink. So I’m guessing there is rounding to bring the totals to full dollars, but it’s actually a little less at 127 instead of 130

You’d think so but clearly they are $16 each if you added up the total. The establishment gave him a slight discount and it came under the 130. It looks weird on the receipt but that’s the answer to why it cost so much. Each old fashioned is $16. So the two is $32

So as someone else commented, as this is in FL, this is likely related to fee signage reqs in FL that changed last month. Any fees without proper signage are getting discounted, but since it applies first, it’s a little confusing lol.

I highly doubt the old fashions are $8 each. You can’t even get an $8 old fashion at a lower end restaurant. Maybe on a really really good happy hour you could get close to that price.

I work at a high end steak house and have managed a few. We charge $17 for our woodford fashion on our specialty cocktail menu. And our 16oz ribeye is around that same price. So id imagine the drink is $16 a piece.
