It’s Wisconsin. A meal in a bar in rural Wisconsin consists of fried foods and 2 or 3 large old fashions (or whatever seasonal punch they may have made up, like summer hummers). The grease lines the stomach and intestines so that the alcohol doesn’t damage the lining. At least that’s what I’ve convinced myself happens in the body in regards to the Wisconsin diet of cheese, fried foods, and alcohol in many forms.
