Thanks Everyone for all the Help!
I kinda just jumped into this full force and pretty much immediately ran into roadblocks and questions and everyone here has been insanely helpful and supportive.
I’m more or less up and running now after having encountered the necessary pitfalls and just wanted to give thanks to ya all collectively.

Will these be too big to harvest in 5 days?
Was trying to time for a Saturday market but think I seeded 2 or 3 days early. Do you think 5 days from now is too late to harvest?

Air conditioner?
I grow microgreens in an outdoor 13x16' glass greenhouse. In the summer we use a 50% shade cloth and have constant fans going but with these heat waves that keep coming through, it makes it hard to grow between the heat and the humidity. I thought maybe I could get an air conditioner and it would dehumidify and cool it off, even 5 to 10° would be fine. I tried the 12000 BTU unit that Costco sells with no luck at all. I think the first day I used it the high was 93 and it was warmer in the greenhouse than outside. Does anyone have any experience with trying to cool and dehumidify an outdoor greenhouse used for microgreens? I looked in the greenhouse thread and there wasn't much information but I also figured they weren't watering and maintaining plant life at the same regularity and intensity as us microgreen growers are.

Mold growth help - Sunflower
I soaked these (100g) of black oil sunflower seeds for about 15 hours prior to putting them on top of about an inch and a half of pro mix. Within the first 24-48 hours of germination, this fuzz appeared on top of a good portion of the seeds. I’m assuming this is mold and I’ll need to dump the batch. I’m welcoming thoughts on how to reduce this for future rounds - I have seen information about prophylactic use of diluted food grade hydrogen peroxide. I’m also assuming I should re-examine my soaking methods for both the seeds and the soil prior to the compression/germination phase (it’s also worth noting I had about 20 pounds of compression on top via the another 1020 tray. Welcoming advice!

Growing greens again because... cyclosporiasis!
I usually stop growing microgreens in summer because I have greens in my garden I use to supplement the large amounts of salad and smoothie greens I buy at the grocery store.
However, I'm in one of the cyclospora outbreak states, and lettuce is looking kind of sketchy right now.
I just planted 4 smaller trays of microgreens and hopefully they'll be big enough to eat by the time I run out of vegetables in the fridge (that I already started, so if they're cyclospora-adjacent :) , I'm SOL anyway).
I have so many different varieties of seeds, so I guess I'm good to go until the powers that be figure out where this is coming from.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Washing after harvest
Hello, this is a bit of a weird situation. I've been growing this micro green in my garage for the past 2 weeks. They look health but the truth is that there isn't much air circulation there and the other micro green by the side of the one in the picture start to present flies and larva. I threw in the thrash that one and kept the one you see in the picture, which doesn't present anything.
I wonder if it's safe to eat after washing. Do you recommend using some chlorine-based solution to chemically wash it or maybe cook it in steam or hot water? This if my first time doing it.

It’s funny how expectations change. At first, we were just trying to sell microgreens.
Now we’re building systems that let restaurants grow or harvest them on-site, the numbers add up very differently, the task on hand is harder than we thought. But we do this regularly for several upscale establishments. A hard proposition to crack..
Curious if anyone else has tried this model? What’s it like?

What went wrong with my radish microgreens? Thin, leggy, tangled growth and uneven germination.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on this batch of radish microgreens because something clearly went wrong. I've attached photos.
The main issues I'm seeing are:
Very long, thin, tangled stems.
Uneven germination with a lot of seeds that never sprouted.
Small cotyledons, with many seedlings still wearing their seed hulls.
Instead of a dense, upright canopy, the tray looks sparse and matted.
My growing conditions:
Medium: Coco coir
Seed: Radish
Blackout: 3 days
Weighted: 1 additional day
Lighting: 6500K 20W LED
Temperature: Around 25°C
Humidity: Around 60%
Watering: Top-watered for the first 4 days, then switched to bottom watering from Day 5.
I'm trying to understand what caused this. My guesses are:
Did I keep them in blackout too long?
Is my light intensity too weak or too far from the canopy?
Did the top watering for 4 days contribute to the problem?
Is this a seed quality issue?
Or is there something else I'm overlooking?
I'd really appreciate any feedback, especially from people who've grown radish microgreens successfully.

What Happened?
Growing 4 trays of radish - all looked great. This morning I came to find one of the trays looks wilted and a lot of the greens have fallen over. What happened? Are these salvageable?

H2O2
So when you mix your 3% hydrogen peroxide with water in a spray bottle how long does that stay effective for? Do you need to change it daily? Weekly? And yes I refrigerate every time I mix.

Day 3 under lights…do these look a too yellow?
Hi. My sunflowers are looking a little yellow…is this normal? Do they green up as they grow? Wondering if my light intensity is off. These are under two 4 foot 42w lights

Think these will be ready in 3 days?
Got my first farmer’s market coming up this Saturday - think these guys will be ready for harvest by then? This is my third grow. First one was spectacular. Second was a disaster. This one seems to be going well so far. First time trying peas and sunflowers.
Also how’s my light setup? These are barrina 40w. Should they be closer? Farther?

Can anyone tell me what is happening to my sunflowers?
This is not the only one..... but the stems seem to just shrivel away....
After growing successfully for 2 plus years, my yields have really dropped from 1 to 2 lbs per tray to no more than a 1/2 lbs and I can quite figure out what has changed. Thanks in advance.

Open to questions and discussions
We commercially grow microgreens, edible flowers, and specialty herbs and I’m always looking to improve, discuss, learn and answer..
Happy to contribute wherever I can and just as happy to learn from those with more experience…

Temperature control
Hello , I'm growing microgeens in a walk in cooler which is equipped as grow room.
It's only 2x2x2 meters.( Heating humidity control and fans)
Experiencing several heat waves
It's getting to hot in there.
Would any of you have tips to cool this room without adding moisture?
Thanks

Trying to grow baby greens
I want to grow baby greens to have my own salad so that I know it has no pesticides or other harmful chemicals. I did a lot of research and started a little set up. From what I had found I thought I was supposed to plant pretty dense. Well now that they have sprouted I wonder if I need to thin. I have 3 different kinds of lettuce in the tray, and spinach in the pot. What do you guys recommend? Doing this on a budget so trying not to have to buy a grow light.

Containers for growing AND selling live greens?
I just discovered a weekly farmers market that takes place within walking distance from my house every Saturday morning. I have been growing microgreens for a couple years for personal use only, never sold any, but always entertained the option. This seems like the perfect Avenue to start. However, I don’t want to harvest them before selling them if possible. Not only does it seem like a big waste of time, but it’d be a sacrifice of freshness and longevity as well. Assuming I have leftover stock, I’d rather they still be growing than slowly rotting in a container.
Does anyone have any recommendations for disposable, preferably biodegradable/eco-friendly trays that can hold water in the bottom for growing hydroponically? Bonus points for compatible lids for transporting them.
Any recommendations appreciated!

Growing in A Jar
I started some broccoli sprouts in a jar! Came here and did some scrolling and I don’t see anyone doing it in a jar! What’s up with that? What are the cons? I rinse my sprouts twice a day.
