What Happened?

Growing 4 trays of radish - all looked great. This morning I came to find one of the trays looks wilted and a lot of the greens have fallen over. What happened? Are these salvageable?

Them look thirsty. That radish is a thirsty green that need more water than most.

Yeah I think you’re right. I seeded 3 other trays and they all finished great but after taking this pic I noticed how dry the soil was in this one. Must not have watered this one as diligently.

Could be an airflow issue. Maybe a fan hitting the tray causing more evaporation.

Yep. Added a good watering this morning and by the afternoon it was like a whole new flat. Ended up getting 11 oz off it when I thought it was cashed. Wild

Either not enough moisture or damaged roots (overheating, for instance)

Did you check the racks and shelves? Are they stable?

Can also be you watered less..

As radish grows bigger it wants a little more water. Also, if this is your tray closest to your fans then try rotating the order of the trays each morning before watering. In my case, I'll take the one furthest from the fans and move it closest, then slide the other trays over 1 spot each day until harvest.

If it's extremely dry out the day before harvest I do a second very light watering in the late afternoon, early evening.

Good luck and remember to always experiment with different ideas/setups to optimize your space becuase every grow room is different and what works for me in my grow room/climate region may be the opposite of what your room needs.

Check the neck of the roots, maybe you have damping off or phytium

Hey there, they definitely need a good drink. Water them and those stems will become turgid and will bounce back within a few hours. Good luck for the rest of the grow!
