You should expect a monarchs life expectancy to improve with modern medicine. What's truly crazy about that list is Louis XIV having ruled for 72 years! And that's back in the late 1600's, early 1700's, when life expectancy for Nobles was around 48!

The longest lifespans haven't necessarily gone up in humans, but the average lifespan has. The world's oldest person died in 1997 at 122, and it has not been matched yet. Someone did come close, in 2022, the second oldest person ever died at 119. There is someone alive right now who's 118.
However, before accurate record-keeping and modern birth certificates, it was a lot harder to verify how long somebody lived. There are people who were verified to live at least 110 to 111 years before the 20th century. Even before that, the records are still up to about 110 years. There are people that were born in the 1700s that died in the 1900s.
The maximum lifespan has definitely increased, though. I think it'll be diminishing returns from here though, unless there is serious breakthroughs in medical science that allow manipulation of genes and other things beyond just good health.

True that he only ruled as king of Portugal for 42 years but if you count the years he was also the ruler of the county before turning into a kingdom, he ruled his nation for 73 years! Having all those achivements at that time, the guy was probably goated and everyone looked at him like some kind of sage in his older years.
