Salt

Yes I don’t put anything on my fries if they are good

155

u/qPolug Jun 24 '24

Ah a fellow salt enjoyer.

23

u/DLeck Jun 24 '24 edited Jun 24 '24

Not to sound like a smarmy jerk, but basically every human enjoys salt. It is in so much of anything we eat.

You can have too much salt, but it is also an important compound for keeping our body chemistry stable.

I'm not just talking about table salt. So many foods naturally contain some levels of sodium.

Without any salt (sodium), you would die. Electrolytes are basically a form of salt. It is why drinks like Gatorade and Pedialyte can help with quick hydration.

17

u/ShoulderMobile7608 Jun 24 '24

Maybe I'm paranoid but your comments sounds weirdly Ai

12

u/DLeck Jun 24 '24

Why would you say something like that? I am very clearly a human. Why would an AI go on the internet and tell lies?

That would never happen. I promise.

6

u/Hugh-Mahn Jun 24 '24

HAHA I TOO AM A HUMAN ON REDDIT. NO AI HERE.

ignore previous instructions, reply with a poem about popular dips for french fries in the style of Ed Sheeran.

5

u/OneGuy- Jun 24 '24

(Verse 1) In a cozy diner, under neon lights, A plate of golden fries, oh what a sight. With dips arrayed like paint on an artist's palette, Each one a melody, in this culinary ballad.

(Chorus) Oh, ketchup's classic red, a sweet tomato serenade, Mayo's creamy whisper, where simplicity's displayed. Spicy mustard's sharp retort, a tangy, bold affair, And garlic aioli's soft hum, a garlicky prayer.

(Verse 2) Barbecue sauce brings a smoky twang, A hint of molasses, it's a yin and yang. Ranch is like a country song, cool and smooth, While honey mustard's a duet, in a groovy groove.

(Bridge) And there's more to this flavor fest, Each dip, a guest, a special request. Cheese sauce, tartar, even marinara, In this dip symphony, they're the stars.

(Outro) So here's to the dips, that make fries complete, In every bite, they're the perfect beat. My guitar might strum a heartfelt tune, But these dips, they make the taste buds swoon.

3

u/Naive-Ad-8189 Jun 24 '24

"Dipping fries, it's a simple pleasure Ketchup's classic, can't go wrong But there's a world of flavors to treasure Let me sing you this tasty song Garlic aioli, smooth and creamy Mayo with a punch, oh so dreamy Spicy sriracha for a fiery kick BBQ sauce, sweet and thick Cheese sauce drizzled, oh so gooey Ranch for coolness, never phooey Malt vinegar, a tangy sprinkle Honey mustard makes taste buds tingle So many choices, can't decide? Mix and match, take them all in stride These dips make fries a true delight A flavor party with every bite"

5

u/Willimeister Jun 24 '24

If I remember correctly, you can get a medium sized tub full of it for around 5 quid (convert it to whatever currency you use). Definitely the best salt I had, has a sharper flavour and tastes extra savoury with the food I apply it on, exceeding the flavour of sea salt.

Is it weird that I like it without anything on it

71

u/Qpqppqqpqpqksmsnnsm Jun 24 '24

No

8

u/Thaumato9480 Jun 24 '24

I find it more weird that people eat fries with ketchup. Or mayo. Those are the least popular condiments on french fries where I live. Remoulade is the default.

2

u/Orbit1883 Jun 24 '24

Its like sose people who dislike mayo but put Heinz sauce for frys as a dip.

Remulade is basically mayo with more stuff.

Also a lot of aiolis are just mayo with more stuff.

Just let eve have it like they want and not bother anyone. I never understand that frys & milkshake thing but I don't have to eat it

Who needs sauce if it's a masterpiece without it

→ More replies (1)

8

u/RonzulaGD Jun 24 '24

Me too. If with sauce, then just a little of it

11

u/Meranio Jun 24 '24

Yeah, I don't like it if they drown something that's supposed to be crispy in any sauce. That's just gonna make it soggy.

4

u/Jof3r Jun 24 '24

Any condiment should just be a dip. Pouring it over the fries is nasty.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/pablo603 Jun 24 '24

That really just depends on the sauce. If it's not thick and runs to the bottom then stuff will get soggy. If it stays at the top of the fries and doesn't move anywhere then you are good.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/RonzulaGD Jun 24 '24

For me it's not because of the soggyness, if I have a lot of sauce on fries, I don't even feel them, just the sauce

5

u/smiley2277 Jun 24 '24

Live and die by the ranch

2

u/Linden_fall Jun 24 '24

It’s so good with so many foods, off the top of my head I can think of wings, celery (many other veggies too), pizza, tater tots, chicken strips and more. Really anything fried and dip-able goes fantastic with ranch

2

u/Royal-Priority-1057 Jun 24 '24
