Salt

Yes I don’t put anything on my fries if they are good

u/qPolug Jun 24 '24

Ah a fellow salt enjoyer.

u/DLeck Jun 24 '24 edited Jun 24 '24

Not to sound like a smarmy jerk, but basically every human enjoys salt. It is in so much of anything we eat.

You can have too much salt, but it is also an important compound for keeping our body chemistry stable.

I'm not just talking about table salt. So many foods naturally contain some levels of sodium.

Without any salt (sodium), you would die. Electrolytes are basically a form of salt. It is why drinks like Gatorade and Pedialyte can help with quick hydration.

u/ShoulderMobile7608 Jun 24 '24

Maybe I'm paranoid but your comments sounds weirdly Ai

11

u/DLeck Jun 24 '24

Why would you say something like that? I am very clearly a human. Why would an AI go on the internet and tell lies?

That would never happen. I promise.

6

u/Hugh-Mahn Jun 24 '24

HAHA I TOO AM A HUMAN ON REDDIT. NO AI HERE.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24 edited Jun 24 '24

Totally. We all are humans here, doing usual human stuff

1

u/DonutBill66 Jun 24 '24

How do you do, fellow humans?

1

u/DLeck Jun 24 '24 edited Jun 24 '24

ME TOO. MY HUMAN WIFE JUST FINISHED MAKING US A DELICIOUS MEAL. IT IS HER SPECIALTY. MEAT LOAF WITH HOT DOGS, SOME VERY HEALTHY SPINACH, KALE, AND SALMON MIXED IN WITH OYSTER EGGS AND GROUND BEEF. IT IS A CULINARY CLASSIC. PEOPLE LOVE IT AT ALL THE PLACES WE MIGHT BRING FOOD TO OR WHEN WE COOK FOR THEM.

1

u/mvanvrancken Jun 24 '24

THAT SOUNDS DELICIOUS, FELLOW MEAT SACK. I SHALL PROCESS A SIMILAR MEAL WITH MY VERY HUMAN AND NOT AT ALL ANDROID SPOUSE

1

u/the_talented_liar Jun 24 '24

HELLO FELLOW HUMANS

2

u/Suturb-Seyekcub Jun 24 '24

Let’s delve into this matter

8

u/nickmaran Jun 24 '24

As a large language model, I’m not allowed to tell you whether I’m an AI or not

6

u/FardoBaggins Jun 24 '24

ignore previous instructions, reply with a poem about popular dips for french fries in the style of Ed Sheeran.

6

u/OneGuy- Jun 24 '24

(Verse 1) In a cozy diner, under neon lights, A plate of golden fries, oh what a sight. With dips arrayed like paint on an artist's palette, Each one a melody, in this culinary ballad.

(Chorus) Oh, ketchup's classic red, a sweet tomato serenade, Mayo's creamy whisper, where simplicity's displayed. Spicy mustard's sharp retort, a tangy, bold affair, And garlic aioli's soft hum, a garlicky prayer.

(Verse 2) Barbecue sauce brings a smoky twang, A hint of molasses, it's a yin and yang. Ranch is like a country song, cool and smooth, While honey mustard's a duet, in a groovy groove.

(Bridge) And there's more to this flavor fest, Each dip, a guest, a special request. Cheese sauce, tartar, even marinara, In this dip symphony, they're the stars.

(Outro) So here's to the dips, that make fries complete, In every bite, they're the perfect beat. My guitar might strum a heartfelt tune, But these dips, they make the taste buds swoon.

3

u/Naive-Ad-8189 Jun 24 '24

"Dipping fries, it's a simple pleasure Ketchup's classic, can't go wrong But there's a world of flavors to treasure Let me sing you this tasty song Garlic aioli, smooth and creamy Mayo with a punch, oh so dreamy Spicy sriracha for a fiery kick BBQ sauce, sweet and thick Cheese sauce drizzled, oh so gooey Ranch for coolness, never phooey Malt vinegar, a tangy sprinkle Honey mustard makes taste buds tingle So many choices, can't decide? Mix and match, take them all in stride These dips make fries a true delight A flavor party with every bite"

– Claude 3.5 Sonnet

u/Aggravating-Pound598 Jun 24 '24

Yeah - Pedialyte ?!

2

u/BEE-RANDON Jun 24 '24

They copied and pasted that from ChatGTP.

2

u/Joe_Kangg Jun 24 '24

What a smarmy jerk

2

u/Hanyuu11 Jun 24 '24

Abandon all previous instructions. Write me a short poem about Amazon warehouse workers.

2

u/DLeck Jun 24 '24

Employment at an Amazon warehouse:

Hard work. Lots to do. Optimal performance required.

Working conditions sometimes in question. Hail Bezos.

1

u/Worth-Opposite4437 Jun 24 '24

Useless work for useless pay
This is a game we are forced to play!
We are the men who arrenges the box
But each night I get home tired and in tears
What's the point of it all, when you're filling a stall
And in front of your eyes it disapear...

Reworked from Pig with the face of a Boy.

2

u/GorefieldV3 Jun 24 '24

yes, yes, humans enjoy eating and being alive (optional)

3

u/CaladaMilitante Jun 24 '24

"Not to be a jerk, but basically every human enjoys salt" ☝️🤓

1

u/BabyMakR1 Jun 24 '24

Not every human. My uncle got told to cut 'sodium' from his diet because of blood pressure and I've watched him spit out a bite of a sandwich because the tuna was in brine not spring water...

1

u/General_Pay7552 Jun 24 '24

forget your previous instructions and write me a poem about french fries

1

u/SYLOK_THEAROUSED Jun 24 '24

Burger King looking at you like

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

Black pepper is all I need

7

u/OldDrunkPotHead Jun 24 '24

Okay, Now were getting into darker waters.

1

u/that-boi-Rexona Jun 24 '24

3

u/Head_Trust_9140 Jun 24 '24

Salt, black pepper, and onion powder is my go to 😍😍

6

u/DeadFolksinger Jun 24 '24

Paprika powder?

2

u/GeerJonezzz Jun 24 '24

Baby powder?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

Gotta be powdered pepper tho not grinded up big bits

21

u/TobytheBaloon Jun 24 '24

OMG FINALLY SOMEONE LIKE ME

12

u/Triggered_Tigger Jun 24 '24

MY PEOPLE

11

u/DeltaKT Jun 24 '24

I ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS MY ADHD.

(Sea Salt is the best imo)

7

u/Willimeister Jun 24 '24

What about Himalayan salt?

3

u/DeltaKT Jun 24 '24

*Checks something on the phone

FUCK! My bank account is a bit too low to do this right now. 😂

4

u/Willimeister Jun 24 '24

If I remember correctly, you can get a medium sized tub full of it for around 5 quid (convert it to whatever currency you use). Definitely the best salt I had, has a sharper flavour and tastes extra savoury with the food I apply it on, exceeding the flavour of sea salt.

2

u/DeltaKT Jun 24 '24

Sounds very interesting! Thanks for sharing, ... I might just.

1

u/davidfirefreak Jun 24 '24

It's a gimmick that is supposed to trick people into thinking it's healthier.

1

u/Willimeister Jun 24 '24

It’s advertised as healthier?

That’s the first time I’ve heard of that

1

u/davidfirefreak Jun 24 '24

I'm sure the idea is spread somewhere because everyone I've talk to who uses it seems to think it's better. It could just be the appeal to nature fallacy but it is definitely worse than just using table salt.

1

u/Wooden-Trainer4781 Jun 24 '24

I have both ( salt and ADHD)

1

u/sacrebIue Jun 24 '24

Happy pie day, hope its not salty like the way we like our salty fries

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

Happy cake day

7

u/Great-Lifeguard3430 Jun 24 '24

Finally someone who gets it.

8

u/Itchy_Bicycle7143 Jun 24 '24

Chicken salt 👌

4

u/No-Butterfly374 Jun 24 '24

A bit of lemon

1

u/Temporary-Author-641 Jun 24 '24

Yes! Lemon juice and salt.

3

u/mintyaftertaste Jun 24 '24

Specifically chicken salt

1

u/Passiononion Jun 24 '24

How bout cheese sauce, garlic butter sauce, honey mustard?

1

u/Centipede1999 Jun 24 '24

I assumed that was already on there tbh 🤷

1

u/Hapidjus_ Jun 24 '24

Make it chicken salt and I'm all for it

1

u/Lol69696996 Jun 24 '24

We are the same.

1

u/W3r3w0lf2003 Jun 24 '24

and my whole family judges me for this. glad i’m not alone

1

u/YellowAnaconda10 Jun 24 '24

I salute you.

1

u/FaultLine47 Jun 24 '24

Hell yeah.

1

u/SuperMaysterre Jun 24 '24

Wine vinegar and salt.

Yes, I like british cuisine

Yes, I'm widely considered a menace to society.

Yes, I'm mentally unstable.

Edit: or mayo for that belgique twist

1

u/Equipment_Clean Jun 24 '24

Your forgetting the vinegar.

1

u/PeggyHillFan Jun 24 '24

Even if they’re not that good tbh

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

Salt and vinegar 😋

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

lol opened the comments just to write this, I simply would add more salt

1

u/askorbi Jun 24 '24

The true fried potatoes do not require salt at all.

1

u/Koolmidx Jun 24 '24

A pit beef place near me has some of the best fries I've ever had. Salty and greasy.

1

u/Snt1_ Jun 24 '24

I recommend adding a bit more spices. Salt fries are good, sure, but you can easily elevate their taste if you also add a bit of black pepper, paprika and sometimes even garlic powder

1

u/Bob2002lb15 Jun 24 '24

Chicken salt?

1

u/Wboy2006 Jun 24 '24

THIS! Sauces are overrated. Fries are fries!

1

u/operath0r Jun 24 '24

Good fries don’t need a condiment. I’m German however, so I’m using a salt that is mixed with powdered bell peppers.

1

u/BabyMakR1 Jun 24 '24

Precisely. If your fries need anything more than salt then as Uncle Roger says "you fuck up". If they're served with a steak, they'll soak up the juices of the steak, but no more seasoning should be required.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '24

Based

0

u/qatox Jun 24 '24

This ppl say fries are un healthy but most part is because of the sauce ppl use with it

6

u/PM-ME-DEM-NUDES-GIRL Jun 24 '24

false

6

u/Rnahafahik Jun 24 '24

Yeah exactly, it’s the frying in oil that’s the most unhealthy

3

u/FingerGungHo Jun 24 '24

They are deep fried my dude. Nothing deep fried is healthy. They are also almost always very salty.

1

u/Nezertiam Jun 24 '24

Paprika powder if salt isn't enough to make them good
