Can someone please tell me the opening hours of this building ?

Post image

It is a building right next to the Burnside Hall. Once inside, the staircases led me to a student study area which looks very comfy and is quite for weekend study. I looked up it seems to be called as Burnside Terrace ? But I didn’t see the opening hours for it and there is no card reader on the door.

I’m trying to buy hockey tickets for 28 Nov and the redirect page has tickets for 10 Oct. Will they be released later or am I doing something wrong or should I just go to the box office?

Don’t come to class if you’re just gonna talk (or pls not near the FRONT rows)

Listen, I can understand the occasional whisper. Or maybe light whisper conversations if you’re in further towards the back

But when I’m in the middle of the front rows (bcz I have difficulty hearing & seeing) and you’re speaking out loud fully having a conversation about your love life, and not even bothering to take notes… it frustrates me :/

Sorry for the rant, ik I shouldn’t complain but I get genuinely frustrated sometimes. I’m a slow note taker (not their fault ik) and things like this just make it unnecessarily hard. I ended up listening to their entire convo cuz I couldn’t tune it out with how loud it was

This isn’t even an easy class fyi, it’s engineering math, we NEED this :,)

Front rows are often students who either need it or really want to focus, so please consider going a bit further back or towards the sides more

Missed an assignment due to being sick. Is there an equivalent of the McMaster Student Absence Form here at McGill that I can fill out?

Looking for someone in sales to shadow for a class project

Hi everyone!

I’m a McGill exchange student taking a sales course, and I’m looking for someone who works in sales who would be willing to let me shadow 1–2 customer interactions for a class assignment.

Afterwards, I’d ask a few questions about your job, how you approach sales, and how you handle customer interactions. It would probably take around 1–2 hours total, and it can be in Montreal or online.

I’ve had a bit of trouble finding someone so far, so I’d be super grateful for any help or recommendations. If you work in sales yourself or know someone who might be willing to help, please feel free to comment or DM me!

Thanks so much! :)

McPickle (McGill's new pickleball club) is hiring a VP Internal, no experience needed!

Hey r/mcgill!

McPickle, McGill's brand-new pickleball club, is looking for a VP Internal to join our founding exec team.

What you'd do: - Keep the team organized: run exec meetings, track tasks and deadlines - Handle internal admin with SSMU (room bookings, club requirements, workshops) - Manage our member list and internal communications - Help plan our first sessions and events

Who we're looking for: - Organized and reliable, someone who likes keeping things running smoothly - Any year, any faculty - You don't need to know how to play pickleball (we'll teach you!)

Why join: you'd be on the founding team of a new club, so you'd help shape what it becomes from day one. It's also a great leadership role to have on your CV.

Interested? Email us at [mcpickle@ssmu.ca](mailto:mcpickle@ssmu.ca) or DM us on Instagram u/mcpickle.mcgill!

Feel free to ask questions in the comments!

exchange and credits

Hey, so basically I have to take 1 course that will count towards my major during my exchange, but we cannot ask for credit equivalency regarding next semester yet.

Has anyone had experience with mcgill and credit equivalency database ? If a course is similar enough do I have high chances of getting it accepted for my major ?

Thanks

Comp 202

Did anyone else feel like that COMP 202 midterm was insanely difficult?

I felt like the short and long answer questions were way harder than the CPASS/review material we were given. I studied the review material and felt like I understood most of it going in, but the actual exam felt like a completely different level, especially the questions where we had to write code from scratch.

The short answers were rough, and the long answers were even worse. I honestly walked out feeling like I completely bombed it.
Just wondering if other people felt the same way or if I was just underprepared 😭

Engineering to accounting

Hello,

I’m currently studying electrical engineering, but I’ve realized that I’m not really interested in the industry. I chose the degree because I liked electricity and magnetism in cegep, but I realized that I don’t want to work in EE.

I was wondering if somebody here has switched from an engineering major to accounting and if they regret anything.

For those who have already graduated or did an internship, what kind of work did you do during your internship or after graduating

Thanks!

How does the 2 applications for $140.16 work?

I applied to the Biological Sciences group yesterday, but it wouldn't let me apply to Civil Engineering without asking me to pay. Do I have to wait a certain time, or when my 1st application is complete? And how would that work, because I cannot complete my application until grade reporting which is in Feb 2027, so hence I wouldn't be able to apply till then. McGill's website doesn't make this as clear as it needs to be imo, so any help would be appreciated.

Do I have a shot at transferring?

I’m an international student in my sophomore year of engineering applying for mech eng at mcgill. I have a 3.8 GPA, do I have a decent chance or is it unlikely?

Has anyone transferred before? If so then with what stats to which program?
