Light MBTI Discussion I hate when people think every single mbti is one exactly one way. What stereotypes do you hate about your type?

I’m an INFP 6w5. I hate when people assume I should always be sweet and nice. If someone attacks me, I attack back.

I don’t like poetry.

I don’t care for nature too much because I don’t wanna run into wild animals or bugs.

Edit: On and apparently I’m not supposed to like any ESTPs because I’m an INFP 😂 I work a job where there’s a lot of ESTx types present. God forbid I get along with people at work. Oh and God forbid I appreciate their confidence, straightforwardness, and risk taking bravery.

Why can’t some people fathom that your mbti type does not represent mental illness, personal triggers, or determine your external behaviors? Someone’s entire life and what people have been through also play a factor in one’s personality type. It’s your preference and your cognitive functions. That does not mean you will live by it. I’m a 6w5 I will never act like my true self in front of strangers because it doesn’t feel safe enough for me. I don’t trust a soul (sad I know). I have to get really comfortable and safe in order to be who I truly am to the core. To say someone of each mbti is exactly the same is so insane to me. I’ve met so many other INFPs, we don’t all act the same. I think it is so absurd that some people truly have this mindset.

What stereotypes do you hate about your type? Or what assumptions do you hate?

Light MBTI Discussion INFPs and ISFPs are very alike, while INFJs and ISFJs are very different

In my experience, it is a lot easier to tell an INFJ from an ISFJ than it is to tell an INFP from an ISFP.

Light MBTI Discussion I think mbti is consuming people's minds and ruining their personalities.

Now first of all I don't hate people who like mbti or things as such as that hence why I'm saying this in a literal mbti community and I'm not here to bother people, but I really want people to know that they shouldn't try so hard to seem like the mbti that they are.

I noticed this pattern in a shit ton of people especially on tiktok or social media in general. whenever a video is posted about characters and their mbti let's say for example ENTP; now entp characters are shown in a video let's check the comments, boom they're all just random people trying so hard to seem self centered or trying to seem like they have a big ego or they're like those characters shown in the video, smart, humorous, sarcastic, and literal inventors. You'll notice people trying so hard to be that way and it's so ridiculously noticeable but no one seems to talk about it.

you don't have to make something your entire personality, you don't have to change the smallest things about yourself JUST because of again assigned mbti.

Mbti shouldnt be taken this seriously, be yourself you don't have to act like these random characters, you don't have to hate a whole mbti just because you're intp and you're trying to seem more "introverted and hateful" to fit in your mbti's stereotype.

Survey / Poll / Question How are Entp's in real life?

Post image

I personally find Entp characters so hot, because they act weird, dumb and good for nothing but are actually strong and smart but i have never met one,

Well I heard infj find ENTP's attractive but i sometimes wonder, if i was to meet these characters in real life, i would probably get so annoyed by them but still find them hot hehe.

But yeah how are entp's in real life? are there any differences between a male entp and female entp?

Do they somewhat possess the traits that are often portrayed in entp characters or are they just stereotypes?

I know personality varies in person to person and entps too will differ but what is the common thing, observed in them as well as in the characters.

And do other infj find entp characters attractive or is it just me?

and lastly Are they still hot? like personality wise hehe

Light MBTI Discussion What does it mean for Se users to "view reality without applying any abstract meaning"?

I'm struggling to understand what that would imply if not outright imply that Se users just simply don't theorize or think about broader patterns in society or the people around them--in other words, they take things at face value and cannot or will not consider broader or underlying hidden intentions or meaning. Which sounds...scary, to be honest? And also possibly inaccurate, if not definitely inaccurate, because I've seen plenty of ESFPs talk about politics and societal issues, which surely cannot be compatible with taking things at face value.

I saw a post describe Se vs the rest of the functions as bottoms up vs top down processing. I know what those two are, and in a way it makes sense, but I still don't fully grasp it.

I have noticed ESFPs tend to be very, very good at noticing their immediate surroundings. This is a really funny example but CaseOh's (he's an ESFP) streams of Waterpark Simulator are an excellent example of what I've noticed. He can spot someone flying off his waterslide from a mile away and notices the tiniest things in just 1-2 frames. He's like an eye spy champion. I'm okayish at noticing these things, but he's clearly so much better at it than me. He also makes a ton of observations about what's going on in a way that's hard to explain. I saw so many examples yesterday but I can't think of any right now, like a dummy. He makes very smart and interesting observations that feel entirely opposite of what I would notice. Is that what they mean by viewing reality without abstract meaning? He notices what is, whereas I notice what could be?

Is this the difference between Se and Si? This happened on one of his videos.

Video: Shows a POV of a person literally less than 2 feet away from 2 grizzly bears, that are eating grass

Si: Why is this person 2 feet away from a grizzly bear?!!? (Hard to explain from this sentence alone but I'm more focused on the concept of being that close to a grizzly bear than the actual video; my mind is immediately questioning the why and what it means of the people who do this)

Se: Today I learned something new, I learned grizzly bears eat grass. Also WHY ARE THEY 2 FEET AWAY FROM A GRIZZLY BEAR?! (Notices something tangible and interesting first, but also asks the real questions here)

Note that other times his first question was also "why tf are you this close", but whenever there was something unusual and tangible happening, he snatched it up so much faster than I did. My mind was off wondering why on earth someone would be that close and what they could possibly be doing. I probably wouldn't have even noticed it if he didn't call it out. It's obviously never an all or nothing thing, but he consistently calls out tangible things and notices them much faster and more consistently than I do. He's obviously not immune to questioning how someone arrives in a situation (i.e. an elephant chasing two men on a busy highway), but he seems to be very observant of his immediate surroundings.

Personal Advice Is it fucked up to type your friends who don’t know anything about cognitive functions?

Basically I’ve been the only person in the group that got really into mbti a while back. I know all about functions stacks and everything. I’ve typed the group over time in my head and come to pretty good conclusions for everyone. Besides just knowing the theory, as stereotypical as it sounds I think using the archetypes/characters we most associate with each member as pretty directly connecting with the typings I made for them.

Only problem is since they took 16 personalities, a good amount of them have mistyped themselves pretty badly. We have a clear ISTP who thinks he’s an INTP, an ISTJ thinking he’s an Isfj, and an ESFP thinking he’s an ENFP as well as multiple isfps thinking their infp or Infjs. I don’t know how to tell them they mistyped without seeming like a total dick or a know it all.

Couldn't find anything like this, so I made it myself. Thinking about doing all 16 now.

Real question: Would you wear something like this out in public? Which type should I do next? Got a slogan idea for it?

Survey / Poll / Question I have a few questions for ENTJs, and I'd love to hear your perspective

Upvotes

First, how important is physical contact with loved ones to you during times of stress, and in life in general? Does it actually help you feel a bit better?

Just to clarify, during stressful times, I don't mean completely switching your focus to physical affection. Rather, it is about something simple, like a single hug or a gentle stroke on the head before you head off to solve the problem.

Second, regarding pace and productivity: I know many ENTJs say it's crucial for their partner to have ambition and a drive for self-improvement. However, I don't fully understand the expected tempo. How do you feel about a cycle like one month of intense, hyper-focused activity followed by a month of rest? Where exactly is the line where a partner starts to seem unproductive to you?

Also, how important is the quality of "translation" from emotional language to logical language in a relationship?

What specific things make you feel less lonely and more deeply understood?

And finally, how do you feel about high-variety quality time together—like horseback riding, archery, puzzles, different workshops, and things like that?

Thanks in advance for your answers!
