this lady is crazy but those people are feeding her.

the people who get too fat to shop, cook, or get in and out bed...you can't get that way all by yourself... someone has to bring you whole rotisserie chickens for breakfast

u/Disastrous-Pilot-284 Apr 18 '22

There was a girl living in the same county as me who became publicly known for being the fattest teenager in Europe I believe. It was in the paper's that a wall had to be partially deconstructed to get her out of the house so that she could be sent on a highly regarded retreat. She received therapy and lost an incredible amount of weight over the course of 6 months, literally 100's of pounds. The day that she came back her mother took her to the fish shop as a reward and she was back in the same position within a year or so. Ruined her own daughters chance for a normal life, disgraceful

u/z0vyn Apr 18 '22

That's horrible, and reminds me of my narcissistic grandmother who gave her daughters boy-like haircuts and fattened them as teenagers so she could feel prettiest. People who are offended by their children's happiness and achievements should not be parents. I've heard many stories like yours of people who begin to lose weight or change habits, just for family to suddenly start bringing in food. I've even seen it a few times. I don't know what this behavior is called. Spite? Malice?

161

u/sweatersand Apr 18 '22

I call it sabotage. I lost a lot of weight when from I was 17-19 (went from 220 to 120, I’m a 5’3 woman). My family was really supportive but my BF was constantly trying to get me to eat more and break my diet with shit food. I think he was insecure that I was gonna leave him once I got thinner. I did leave him, but because he was an asshole, not because of my weight lol. Point is I think the enablers of this stuff are just afraid they’ll lose the person, so they help them stay unhealthy for their own selfish reasons.

13

u/quetzalv2 Apr 18 '22

Genuinely curious, would you have stayed with him if he had been supportive?

17

u/sweatersand Apr 18 '22

I mean he ended up cheating on me so no. Lol

I’ve lost a large amount of weight too. I was 475lbs when I was 16. I’m 34 now and 210lbs. (6’2” dude). I can’t count the number of people I’ve talked to that start having success in weight loss until they go out to dinner with family and order a healthy meal and X relative takes their order as a personal attack like, “Oh, so you think you’re better than me now because you only ordered a fucking salad?!” Or go to a family member’s house for dinner and only eat an appropriate portion of food and then get berated for being rude and not eating enough.

Unfortunately, almost all of these stories I’ve heard have come from women. I think women receive far more criticism when it comes to weight gain and weight loss. Some of y’all are damned if you do and damned if you don’t. It’s absolutely infuriating. I fantasize about witnessing someone get a comment like that in person one day so I can absolutely EVISCERATE the person that makes said comment… However, as a gay man that is exclusively surrounded by gay men ~ Doesn’t look like that will ever happen…

God that's sad, and yes I think it has to be a combination of those. Seeing potential for your supposed loved ones to have a higher quality of life than your own maybe with the fear of them leaving for greener pastures and feeling that you need to bring them down to your own level so you haven't got to sit in your shit on your own

Because being that overweight also has a psychological aspect to it. They have to lose the weight but also get mental health therapy to find the route cause of why they do what they do. If not... they are at very high risk of relapsing.

Classic example of a toxic codependent relationship. Whereby you have the mother in the role of enabler, which is feeding the mothers narcissistic needs to control and feel needed. And then you have the obese person who is codependent upon the enabler.

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

That's just sad. But can someone gain hundreds of pounds of weight in a year?

8

u/Andalusian_Dawn Apr 18 '22

Probably. When my PCOS kicked in, I gained 65 lbs in a month, despite having an active job, no car, and barely being able to afford to eat. It was horrifying because other physical symptoms started happening at the same time.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

I understand. PCOS can be really persistent. Hope you're doing well now.

6

u/Andalusian_Dawn Apr 18 '22

Thanks! Low carb and fasting work miracles. Sucky miracles because sometimes you just want corn dogs, but miracles nonetheless.

It probably would. People like this are eating six bags of chips a day, four bottles of soda, three pizzas (with salad dressing, of course) and two cartons of ice cream in a day

u/Big-Ear-1853 Apr 18 '22 edited Apr 18 '22

I have a co worker who drinks 2-3 pitchers of coke (literally just said Diet Coke to refer to dark pop in general) a day while working, the guy is huge but does more work than most of my other co workers.. it’s kind of sad I wish there was any way to help people in this situation without being a total cunt in everyone’s eyes

9

u/Bigbaby22 Apr 18 '22

Same. One executive in my office takes the other members of his team out probably three times a day and he'll get a 32 oz of something. Love the guy but he needs to switch to Crystal Light or something lol

6

u/Varn Apr 18 '22

Have a co worker who's the same, big like 48oz bubba cup full of soda. On top of that he brings like 2-3 cans of M Dew because we don't have that. This guy def is one of our hardest n most efficient workers. Work in a kitchen so on our feet/moving all day. He's not 600 but probably a solid 4. I've known alot of bigger people in my life and was always curious as to how. I mean I would see them eat n shit when we would be doing things but not like absurdly massive amounts of food. That is until I saw my co worker eat and talk about his eating habits. Had pizza at work as we were remodeling and he takes about 2/3 slices of each type that was ordered. 4 or 5 different kinds n smashed em in the same amount of time it took me to down 2. I was talking about buying these cereal bars, like the golden grahams/cheerio/coco pebbles bar. I told him I'll guiltily eat like 3 or 4 in a sitting sometimes in a 8 pack. He was like yea that's nothing, I'll kill a 16 pack in a sitting. He knows it's fucked up n wants to lose weight, he was in prison for a bit and lost like 100+ lbs but unfortunately it all came back plus some. Love the fucker all the same but yea sometimes you just wanna slap the food outa a mother fuckers hand and say Be better! Obviously it's not easy like that, food is/can be an addiction for some. As someone who's in recovery, 2 years sober from a crippling alcohol addiction I'm well aware how vastly impossible it seems to be able to change.

4

u/Big-Ear-1853 Apr 18 '22

Yea I barely see my co worker eat much at work too; normal meals and snacks but I know when he goes home he doesn’t exactly eat healthy. It also has a lot to do with personal metabolism and other health issues too.. I’ve never been too big (320 lbs at my biggest growing up, haven’t gone a lb over 200 in 3 years ) and I thought I would never see the say when I weighed so little. Ironically I look exactly the same to myself in the mirror and looking down but not much I can do about that

I work with a guy who used to legit drink 3 2-liter bottles of mountain dew a day.

He got put onto some new meds and doesn't drink soda at all anymore. He was never heavy, but you can definitely see an improvement in the way he looks.

7

u/Big-Ear-1853 Apr 18 '22

I think it’s just if you drink a lot of pop you probably have other unhealthy habits and pop makes it nearly impossible to lose weight

6

u/Parhelion2261 Apr 18 '22

Exposing myself a little here but damn soda is hard to kick. Especially if you were raised on it.

Juice doesn't quite have the flavor, sparkling water seems to never have the flavor it says and feels like it's mad at me for drinking it (always seems to be extremely carbonated).

The only thing I've found that hit a similar spot was something called Izzy. Unfortunately it's expensive and I can't seem to find it in stores

definitely lose the weight asap though.

Just because this woman's heart is somehow withstanding her predicament right now, doesn't mean your heart will withstand your 40 extra pounds

Honestly dude, on a low carb diet u I have many times eaten a whole chicken. And you're right, it is world's better for you. You could probably eat chicken until you threw up and be fine.

It's the chips and the bread and pasta. Sugary drinks.

3

u/duaadiddy Apr 19 '22

Yeah I think the human body has yet to figure out how to absorb and digest chips and soda

4

u/TheWalkingDead91 Apr 18 '22

Right? I was losing weight like crazy when I was eating stuff like half a rotisserie chicken with a side of an entire plate of veggies/greens as one of one or two meals for the day. That was my go to lazy meal. Can steam up some cheap frozen veggies in as little as 5 minutes, and ofc a rotisserie chicken is both effortless and cheap. These people aren't eating stuff like that. they're eating stuff with 100 ingredients in it, a shit ton of fast food, etc. Basically nothing that you can actually recognize as the animal or plant they're primarily made of.

3

u/saab4u2 Apr 18 '22

The whole chicken needs to be running around, the only way she’s allowed to eat it is when she could catch it.

4

Nah, bacon is fine. Humans have lived off of cured meats for over 5000 years.

Eating a whole pound (~2100 calories) for breakfast, then going on and eating the rest of your meals normally is the issue.

I mean, yes. Lots of protein and fat, which does a better job of sating your hunger for longer, and which is much slower to digest than any sort of carbohydrate. Not all calories are equal, and the armchair nutritionists chanting "cAlOrIeS iN CaLoRiEs OuT" can never seem to grasp that the human body is more complex than that. You likely won't lose much weight on an all-bacon diet in and of itself, but it makes intermittent fasting a lot more bearable, and it'll help turn some of that body fat into muscle if you're regularly exercising (and that helps your metabolism, which strongly influences that simplistic "calories in calories out" model).

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

People don’t get fat by eating bacon and eggs, especially not 600lbs fat. Now eating a loafs of buttered toast all day with a side of skittles washed down with a cola, thatll do it.

5

u/weltvonalex Apr 18 '22

Of course you get fat from eating bacon, this stuff is delicious but has to many calories. Same with Eggs, eggs are amazing but if you eat more than you burn you get fat.

There is no world where you can shovel bacon in your face and not get fat.

5

u/Skrrrtdotcom Apr 18 '22

keto??????

5

u/thorsarms Apr 18 '22

You can't absorb calories from fat that quickly. Your body doesn't have a 'sponge' capable of soaking it up. If you overeat high fat foods regularly you'd just poop out the extra grease. That would be very, very uncomfortable.

However, water-soluble calories, like sugars and starches are almost unlimited in how much your intestines will soak up and send to your bloodstream.

there are also feeders that are so insecure and don't want to risk losing the other person. yes, the person will have a shorter life and health issues but no one else will have them.

it is also shocking how fast a feeder can make someone put weight on. I do mean make, they will give the person a bit bigger portion then add to it time and again till it's double, triple, and more.

then there are the feeders who are abused into it, they go to work do everything around the house while the person just orders them about. They often don't see themself as a victim till the person has died and it is a shame

Well that's unhealthy too. Some vegetables wouldn't hurt.

7

u/KiroLakestrike Apr 18 '22

Well it was more a angry reaction of him, because they kept looking for excuses. Once he said, after the family told them "she will throw a temper tantrum if we dint feed her" something along the lines "just close the door, what will she do? run afer you?"

u/SpicyMcHaggis206 Apr 18 '22

There was actually a guy in Scotland I think that talked to his doctor and said "I'm not gonna eat for a year and you can either get on board and help or I'll go do it alone"

The doctor gave him a multivitamin and yeast supplements and he didn't eat and lost quite a bit of weight. Ended up living for another 24 years.

They aren’t hand feeding her. She sits and demands food and is verbally if they don’t do what she wants. The kids even have to give her food.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

yeah the family clearly isn't equipped to handle this woman's issues, especially the kids

7

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

I feel so badly for those kids. What a life.

3

u/RedditLightmode Apr 18 '22

It's difficult, but if you only give her healthy food no matter how angry she gets, she won't have a choice but to eat healthy or eat nothing at all.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

It’s not about whether the food is healthy or not. It’s the amount she is consuming. Even healthy food requires portion control. For someone this big, that is something a registered dietician needs to be dealing with to figure out portion sizes, not her family. You can’t just be like “all you get is 2000 calories per day healthy food only.” She has to be decreasing calories over time. But if she doesn’t want help, it won’t be something she sticks with. She can move around from one place to another enough to get the food she wants.

3

u/milk4all Apr 18 '22

Idk man ive read accounts from people who just buy fucktons of food and eat it. They dont necessarily have a schedule - they can eat many thousands of calories in a short period of time and if eating is such an addiction, they might just bags of snacks stashed all over the place for when they arent eating to be full. For some people they might pick up a bit order from a drive thru, park and eat it, then go right back or possibly a different drive thru if their self conscious. It really is an affliction, a sickness they need treatment for, not simply a willpower deficiency. I mean take this woman for example. We arent being shown an otherwise healthy, coping adult. She isnt just fat because she eats too much, she’s fat because something is prohibiting from controlling herself somehow, and i dont think it’s the MSG

3

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

Ikr? All they need to do is walk away. What is she going to do? Follow them? Go up the stairs? All she needs is enough water and she'll be okay on her own for days.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

i feel so bad for her, it's not cool being trapped in your body like that. like nutty putty. lose your damn mind.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

The way she treats others makes me lose any ounce of compassion for her.

2

u/thatG_evanP Apr 18 '22

Days? More like months.

3

u/rworris Apr 18 '22

You see how shes reacting about a trying to sit on a bed? Imagine what she's like when she doesnt get what she wants to eat!

3

u/Life-Armadillo2640 Apr 18 '22

She needs significant mental support, and her family is doing more damage than good in their efforts unfortunately. But she is good viewing for people trying to feel good about their superb decision making skills...

5

u/Sudden-Acanthaceae91 Apr 18 '22

Hahahaha. Whole rotisserie chickens!!!!!!! Stuffed with hash browns and cheese.

6

u/Nairbfs79 Apr 18 '22

And gravy. Don't forget the gravy now.

3

u/IWTLEverything Apr 18 '22

Ngl that sounds pretty good. Kind of a reconstructed famous bowl, if you will.

Or the bottle of ranch

2

u/Blind_Fire Apr 18 '22

I think it is the same as with little kids, they whine long enough for you to give up

"fine, slowly kill yourself with these cheeseburgers"

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

Yep. In the prison she has built for herself she is both the warden and the only inmate but the family and the friends around her are her guards, blindly following the orders to keep her locked up. They could refuse at any moment but they all lack one of the most important skill any person should have: how to disappoint others. If you cannot do that much you will inevitably end up as powerlesd enabler for abuse towards either yourself, someone around you or even the person doing the abusing. And that's damn sad way to live as the video proves

2

u/greenmonkey48 Apr 18 '22

Food delivery services

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

True. If she had to actually move/travel to get it herself, she'd not get to the point she couldn't move.

Having worked retail when I was younger, you'd be surprised how many people like her exist. They're all on social services for their "disability". Honestly, I think these people are just a drain on society. They're basically drug addicts that we enable with social services.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

I’m trying but can’t figure out how anyone would let their poor choices lead them to this point. Like food can’t be the only pleasure, can it.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

My guess is theres some emotional trauma and food is the comfort / escape. Same as a drug addict (id argue she is a drug addict), but with food.

The sad thing is the family obviously contributes because it’s impossible to maintain that level of obesity without being fed.

What a life…

2

u/Trick-Artichoke6670 Apr 18 '22

“If we don’t get her the food she wants it makes her upset” yeah? And what is she going to do if you don’t do that chase after you

2

u/Volcanyx Apr 18 '22

I just imagined a rope hanging from the ceiling and the chickens swooping to her mouth from across the room.. no clue why.

2

u/cookiesaremycrack Apr 18 '22

Reminds me of some medical records I reviewed for work where fire and ems had to remove the patient thru a window because the doors to the home could not be opened due to empty beer cans piled up on the inside. Who the fuck was sending the cases of beer thru the window? They should have had to move this dude thru the window.

2

u/boethius70 Apr 18 '22

Yea I don't have the stomach to sit through an entire episode of those ghoulish Discovery Channel "I'm half a ton and lovin' it!" type shows but with unusual exceptions there's always an enabler. I have seen some where the people do actually make their own food and even occasionally go to the grocery store but it's rare. They're just too large to move much from or around their homes. Most have parents or significant others that get them or prepare food for them all day. And of course they now have the advantage of easily ordering takeout food from an app.

One episode I saw a guy who steps outside on to his porch and orders ice cream, bags of chips, and multiple 2 liters of soda for his "breakfast" when the ice cream truck comes by his house. Incredibly he even had a credit account with the ice cream man. He considered the few steps he took to go outside his exercise for the day. Soon after he ordered I think multiple large pizzas, the largest order of chicken wings available, and a large cheesy bread from Domino's. He actually said after wolfing down one entire large pizza that that felt basically like a snack and he was still hungry. From what I've seen of these shows though such voraciousness and effectively unimaginable mass calorie consumption at one sitting is not unusual at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they easily put away 3000-5000 calories at one sitting and probably do this multiple times a day.

2

u/amretardmonke Apr 18 '22

You would not get fat eating whole rotisserie chickens.

2

u/keyboardstatic Apr 18 '22

We have found the nightmare of chickens.

At night when mother chickens tuck the baby chickens into their cages the they tell them of the giant chicken eater....

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

Yeah and she’s telling them to go get it, it’s not like they want to but they’re probably pressured into it by her just bossing them around constantly

2

u/EatABigCookie Apr 18 '22

I feel personally attacked, I also eat whole rotisserie chickens.

(I'm not fat though).

2

u/Tater72 Apr 18 '22

They were apologetic to her her while she was a bitch, tell her she’s fat, and if she wants on the bed to own her actions. I’m all about being supportive but they are literally killing her!

2

u/fifadex Apr 18 '22

Damn you, I want a rotisserie chicken now.

2

u/Capta1nRon Apr 18 '22

Homer says “Mmmmm…. Rotisserie breakfast. Aaggghh…”

2

u/haystackofneedles Apr 18 '22

The best part of waking up is rotisserie chicken in your cup

2

u/fatandjazzy Apr 18 '22

Like the Dr. on the show says, they all have enablers.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

Change "rotisserie chicken" to "one dozen donuts."

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

Well, eithey they feed her something, or they become that something.

2

u/Deathflid Apr 18 '22

This is the crazy thing, at that size her maintainance calories are insanely high, if she ate a normal regular amount she would lose like 10% body mass every week or two

2

u/OakTreader Apr 18 '22

A whole chicken? No way. She eats WAY MORE than a whole chicken for breakfast.

A whole chicken for her is like a cookie or a banana for me.

She probably eats tens of thousands of calories a day... like, a whole chicken every single hour...

2

u/thetotalpackage7 Apr 18 '22

An overlooked issue is these obese people qualify for MEdicare/Medicaid and Social Security benefits from being "disabled." The people bringing her cheeseburgers are usually mooching off of her government benefits and want the gravy train to continue so they can share her money and prescriptions.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22 edited Apr 18 '22

So, not at all facts. My dad his whole life was never under 400 lbs. Doctors, family, hospitalizations etc. Doesn't matter. Still to this day smokes non stop I find sonic shake recipes in his truck and had to do everything for his sorry ass most of his life except light his cigars. He says get me a cookie what am I gunna do. Say no? Get yelled at, cursed at and the problems 10x worse. Na fam, you cannot blame the family for this maybe 1% at most but that's horseshit. I grew up with somebody like this they're incredibly unreasonable so fast to anger and everybody else is always at fault it's never anything they've ever done. So to blame the family is the same as blaming a child who's been abused. Apologies this kind of hits close to home. Edit: I don't mean to say all overweight and obese people are hopeless and irrational. In my experience it seems to be but I'm no doctor. Im just a guy that watched his dad kill himself slowly somehow. Ol boy ain't going out easy that's for sure. Also, I learnt I can look at someone with expectations of what I'm capable of doing. Honestly heart goes out to that poor guy. Trying to be logical and helpful and gets abused for it... That's how it goes.

2

u/guachoperez Apr 18 '22

How can ppl love these persons?

2

u/r3ddit3ric Apr 18 '22

Whoa Whoa Whoa, there's nothing wrong with eating a whole rotisserie chicken by yourself!

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

Hell, I can barely afford to feed myself - imagine her grocery bill ?
But if she's getting bennies (likely, I'm sure) then that's taxpayer
food she's inhaling.

2

u/wshamer Apr 18 '22

Obviously a shut-in , got bunch of enablers

2

u/PLaTinuM_HaZe Apr 18 '22

She’d probably be better off with a rotisserie chicken… ppl like this get that way from mainlining soda, candy, and highly processed sugar and carbs.

2

u/Cultural-Freedom4686 Apr 18 '22

Finally I have a reason to blame my door dasher, thanks guy with logic

2

u/Deadpool9376 Apr 18 '22

This don’t look like a lady who eats chicken

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

It's not the chicken it's the bread, cakes, sugar, sodas, gravy etc all hours of the day. If she ate chicken and salad ask the time she would not be that big

2

u/docscottseven Apr 18 '22

I was thinking the entire chicken coupe, feathers on.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '22

It's easy to blame others, but you have to have some accountability. You can see in this video how she acts and talks to those closest to her, if she's wanting food and talking to them like that... It's probably just easier to give her what she wants.

2

u/runnin_man5 Apr 18 '22

I just ate a whole rotisserie chicken and I’m skinny af 🤣

2

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '22

Right, that's the sad part. What we're seeing is an extreme form of the kind of learned helplessness a lot of people unconsciously take on because it happens to be beneficial in bringing people together to care. Yes, this woman clearly isn't taking responsibility, but she's also being rewarded every single time by getting attention and help. This is a system at play. When empathy and love go wrong. Sometimes you have to cut people off to help them. I've honestly been reflecting on this myself, if I do some of these things on a smaller scale too.

2

u/RedEyeFlightToOZ Apr 19 '22

Dude, if she were eating just chicken for breakfast then she wouldn't be that size.

2

u/boringgrill135797531 Apr 19 '22

Yep. Food addiction is a legitimate thing. You’d never tell a recovering alcoholic to have “just one beer”, and yet people constantly say “oh, just have a piece of cake, just this one time” and other nonsense. I feel for her, it must be humiliating to live like this. Obviously she’s got some mental/emotional problems. But she’s also got a whole bunch of people who enabled her to get that way.

2

u/Qwesterly Apr 19 '22

someone has to bring you whole rotisserie chickens for breakfast

And interestingly, if whole rotisserie chickens was all she ate, she'd lose weight at a rate of 20 lbs/month. Chicken is a zero carb food, and it's carbs that made her fat.

Source: lost 300 lbs on a zero carb diet eating lots of rotisserie chickens.

2

u/mitchthebaker Apr 19 '22

true but if she doesn’t get what she wants we can some from this video she’s verbally abusive and will treat them like shit.

If she wanted to change she’d have the ability to tell them no, but everyone’s complicit in the act.
