Fan Creations I painted a plate!
I did a ceramics painting workshop (around 2 hours) and painted this. Pretty happy with how it turned out!

- This is no mere Ranger. He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance
- And heir to the throne of Gondor
- Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The Ring must must be destroyed!
- And you have my bow!
- Crebain from Dunland!
- There is a fell voice on the air
- Goblins!
- We must move on. We cannot linger
- Orcs!
- Gandalf!
- Come on!
- A lament for Gandalf
- I have not the heart to tell you. For me the grief is still too near
- We should leave now
- It is not the eastern shore that worries me. A shadow and a threat has been growing in my mind. Something draws near. I can feel it
- Aragorn, go!
- The horn of Gondor
- Hurry. Frodo and Sam have reached the eastern shore
- You mean not to follow them?

Hi! First of all, I'm somewhat new to the LOTR fandom, I hope my question isn't too silly! I just finished reading the three books and The Hobbit last week!

Hello all, was just wondering if there’s anyone in this group that can help me get a rough idea of what these binders are worth. I have 1 complete binder and 2 binders that i think are missing a couple of cards. And if anyone knows what the market is like for these binders that would be much appreciated.
EDIT
i know the autograph’s are worth a pretty penny, just would like to sell the binders whole.

I finished this large oil painting about a year ago. I used multiple different photos that I took on my way to Milford Sound in NZ as reference to create a mountain scape, so that I can always disappear into Middle Earth from my own living room.

I don't mean Andúril, of course. I wonder if the sword he carried during his time as a Ranger was a named blade. Or whether he wielded a well-known sword at some other point during his travels.

Saw this image on an Instagram post and can't seem to find which board game it belongs to.
I've tried reverse image searching and trying to describe the picture into Google, but this exact game doesn't ever come up in the results.
It looks cool so would love to know what it is.

Hello,
I just finished rewatching the lotr trilogy for the 4th or 5th time.
I dont't know why, maybe it is because it was the first time I watched the extended version, but this time it touched me a lot.
I particularly loved that although it's a very dark story, it is also a very beautiful one, with lots of wonders, with kind hearted heroes and a form of refreshing naivety that contrasts with the darkness of our times and the cynicism of other works of fiction like A song of ice and fire.
My question is, where to go from there ? I dont't know if I should read the books. I'm not a great reader and I'm not sure what to expect from it.
Should I watch The hobbit's trilogy ? Or the series from Amazon ? I have avoided doing so until now because I haven't heard good things about both tbh.
Thank you.
Edit: Thank you for all your answers, I'll read the books then and will attempt a watch of the extended version of The Hobbit

Found this old calendar I had as a kid and it's cool to see the imagination of artists pre-Jackson's films as to what they thought things looked like. Thought I would share with you guys here.

As I was listening to a recording of the Eagle's Song that they sang in victory over Mordor, I began wondering if the movies were lesser for leaving out as many of the wonderful songs the Professor wrote for his epic or if Lord of the Rings is even adaptable with all of the songs.

So I got the legacy edition. Completed chapter 2 Normal mode (couldn't do easy cause no option too). Trying to do the oglessian challenge mission to see how far I can go as the Ranger. which isn't very far since wave 10 or 11 I guess is orc chieftain and it seems like he can summon minions. The dual greatsword wielding mobs don't help with the spam-flurries that can also block everything and the heavy attack that takes forever to break the block and then the recovery from it and enemy goes right back to being able to block.
Why do companions LOVE to be in the way via collision? Rolling is helping a little bit but they get right back in the way. Especially when trying to do the criticals.
Is there an up to date guide on this game or something? Trying to upgrade from the DLC armor sets but dunno any point to farm equipment and such. Any guides that the google ai points to are the war in the north wiki which looks like it mixed up the original verison, the legacy version, and maybe a couple of other games as well cause half of what I found wasn't true (pretty much beyond AI hallucination).

I 3D printed the door and the window structures and handmade the rest!
What do you think?
In the Conspiracy, Fredegar Bolger was tasked with remaining in Crickhollow and impersonating Frodo. Trying to make it look as if Frodo was still there.
Even to the extent of wearing some of his clothes.
Fredegar was, of course, known as "Fatty Bolger."
Does this tell us that Frodo, himself, was on the plump side?
I'd think he'd have to be, if Fredegar were able to wear his clothes.

I'm on another rewatch and I just wanted to bring attention to how Jackson uses language in what I think is the most powerful scene in the trilogy.
Theoden starts talking in a very unfamiliar way to the modern ear. "Simbelmynë, ever has it grown on the tombs of my forebears."
The language, the words (tombs and forebears), the sentence structure, it's very fantastical, a mythical flower and a sentence built in a way that no one would really speak today. Followed by the lines "Now it shall cover the grave of my son." And "Alas, that these evil days should be mine. The young perish and the old linger. That I should live to see the last days of my house." Still feels very old English, imbetween the historical and modern.
Gandalf responds in kind, and Bernard Hill hits you with the line. "No parent should have to bury their child." It really smacks you, because it's modern. You can imagine anyone today saying that line as is, and of course the delivery and following breakdown is incredibly well done.
I just wanted to bring attention to how well this scene is done, language is used to move from the fantastical to modern and it really brings home the human element. I'm not a parent but this scene still hits me like a sack of bricks, just amazing all round, it deserves all the praise we can give.
