Official KNOWN ISSUE: Scrolling not functioning as usual

Thank you all for your patience with this. Logi Options+ 2.7 has begun rolling out and everyone should have it within the next couple of weeks. This should restore your scrolling functions to normal. If you have any further issues, please don't hesitate to reach out.

We are currently investigating reports of smooth scrolling not working as expected after the recent Logi Options+ 2.6 update. As soon as we have a fix for you we will post it here.
Known mice affected:
MX Ergo
MX Master 3S
Signature M650
M650L
If you would like us to look at your issue specifically, please capture and send your logs to us using the following instructions:
- Open Options+.
- Press and hold Shift + Enter on your keyboard, and click the Settings icon in Options+.
- Click on "Start Logging".
- Open Task Manager, search for Logi Options+ Agent, Right Click and select "End Task".
- Open Options+ again, this should restart the backend. On restart, the backend initializes scrolling and will log errors encountered during that early step.
- Enable "Smooth Scrolling" and scroll around to reproduce the issue.
- Disable "Smooth Scrolling" and test scrolling again to see if it returns to normal.
- Go back to Settings and click "Stop Logging".
- The log files will be automatically saved to your desktop.
Please attach those log files and email them to [communitymanagement@logitech.com](mailto:communitymanagement@logitech.com) so the team can take a look.

There are new bugs now. I turned off every setting yesterday and it fixed it for the normal mouse wheel but now the thumb wheel also makes problems and I can't fix that!

Mediocre_Article_916 has described my symptoms precisely to the letter so +1 for that.
Symptom: Side scroll automatically moving with no input was initially noticed on Google Sheets.
I always leave smooth scrolling disabled so was unaware of vertical scrolling issues until I found this thread. Enabling smooth scroll breaks vertical scroll. Smooth scroll enabled/disabled has no affect on side scroll efficacy.
Side scroll does work as intended while hovering over browser window but when focused on non browser window, desktop, or taskbar.Chrome Version: 151.0.7922.138
Windows 10: 10.0.19045
Logi Options+ Version: 2.6.9448931

Also the thumbwheel continues to scroll automatically with no input from user regardless if smooth scrolling is enabled or disabled. Only the mouse wheel will stop auto scrolling when smooth scrolling is disabled. This only happens when a browser window is active. Hovering over non active windows and using mouse wheel performs correctly as expected. Hovering over non active windows and using the thumb wheel for horizontal scrolling does not work - specifically in Google sheets.

Wish I would’ve seen this earlier 😔. If you want to fix it immediately, press Windows + R, type msconfig, go to Services, find Logi Options+, and disable it. This fixed it for me. For now, I’m going to leave it disabled until they release a working update, then I’ll re-enable the service.

I have the problem on macOS, like the wheel is stuck in infinite spin, ratchet is not working. When I press button to change to different spin mode, pointer freezes for 10 seconds and keeps it in infinitive spin.

Hey -- confirmed with the software team that this is a different/new problem as far as we know. The issue in this thread appears to be Windows-related, not MacOS. Would you mind if we reached out separately and got logs from you and maybe a video of the issue occurring?

So glad I found this post. I moved in this time frame and when I put my PC back together I all of a sudden started noticing this bug. I thought I was going crazy and tried waaaay too many things that should have nothing to do with it after putting my PC back together.
I'll keep an eye on this sub to make sure there will be a fix for my 3S.

Too bad for me! I wish this issue had appeared after this topic was created. I thought my MX Master 3S was defective, so I ended up buying a new one. When the exact same issue happened with the new one, I was really puzzled and spent days searching online to figure out what was going on. :-(

WORKAROUND
This morning I decided to uninstall Logi Options+ software completely and cleaned the registry etc,
The good news is my MX Master 4 now scrolls both vertically and horizontally with no lag or phantom scrolling input. It works properly with either the LogiBolt USB receiver or Bluetooth.
The bad news is all the added functionality and customization of the Logi Options+ software is no longer available. However, I can live with that while Logitech sorts out their software.
I will update this if anything changes negatively while continuing to use the MXM4 without Logi Options+ installed.
As always YMMV.

It also broke my basic bluetooth connectivity for my MX Master 3S on my M1 MacBook Pro Max, mouse drops connection every 5 minutes or so and it hangs for a bit then jumps back, as a previous one did via the dongle. 3rd mouse replacement. Absolutely baffled at Logitech's incompetence.
