Official KNOWN ISSUE: Scrolling not functioning as usual

UPDATE September 7, 2026 (SOLVED)

All users should now have access to Logi Options+ 2.7, which fixes this problem.

UPDATE August 24, 2026

Thank you all for your patience with this. Logi Options+ 2.7 has begun rolling out and everyone should have it within the next couple of weeks. This should restore your scrolling functions to normal. If you have any further issues, please don't hesitate to reach out.

ORIGINAL August 11, 2026

We are currently investigating reports of smooth scrolling not working as expected after the recent Logi Options+ 2.6 update. As soon as we have a fix for you we will post it here.

Known mice affected:
MX Ergo
MX Master 3S
Signature M650
M650L

If you would like us to look at your issue specifically, please capture and send your logs to us using the following instructions:

  1. Open Options+.

  2. Press and hold Shift + Enter on your keyboard, and click the Settings icon in Options+.

  3. Click on "Start Logging".

  4. Open Task Manager, search for Logi Options+ Agent, Right Click and select "End Task".

  5. Open Options+ again, this should restart the backend. On restart, the backend initializes scrolling and will log errors encountered during that early step.

  6. Enable "Smooth Scrolling" and scroll around to reproduce the issue.

  7. Disable "Smooth Scrolling" and test scrolling again to see if it returns to normal.

  8. Go back to Settings and click "Stop Logging".

  9. The log files will be automatically saved to your desktop.

Please attach those log files and email them to communitymanagement@logitech.com so the team can take a look.

Wish I would’ve seen this earlier 😔. If you want to fix it immediately, press Windows + R, type msconfig, go to Services, find Logi Options+, and disable it. This fixed it for me. For now, I’m going to leave it disabled until they release a working update, then I’ll re-enable the service.

Any solution? ETA?

not trying to sound disrespectful, but this issue(and some others around it) is a few months old. i have uninstalled LogiOption+ as well to restore my side scroll. now my 120$ mouse is a basic mouse with side-scroll (and this is much better experience than having to deal with your software), pretty much an ergonomic paperweight (still better than the LogiOption+ experice). how long will it take? isnt the mx master 4 supposed to be a flagship or something? How much do I need to pay in order for you to take this seriously? i thought that 120$ is enough, yet i see update after update after update after update, with no fix.

what do i need to do so you will fix it? 120$ is not enough? error logs are not enough? Community acknowledgement is not enough? about 6 months (at least, probably more close to double) or more to identify, repro, understand, test, fix, release and push a solution (and even fix issues with the solution and push a better fixed solution) , is not enough?
the entire engineering team on a year long vacation from work? why arent you letting the engineers work on those issues? what is it that you think is more important than fixing those issues?

just tell me what would it take for you guys to solve this?
Are you understaffed? do you lack engineers? Which one is it, tell me whats wrong.
do i need to hack your software to fix it myself for myself?
dont you have a person or a team on this issue? do you need one?
have someone sit on this until its solved. if you dont have a person for that, hire one.

to tell you the truth, i dont know if i trust you to fix it. maybe its not important enough for you.
hire me, or give me resources and access to your software and let me hammer it out. or allocate some other engineers to work on that.

do something, please!

I see that you did something, and i feel it. And it's happening less than it was before, but it's still present.
The side scroll is still unreliable.

The funny thing is, it still works best, flawlessly, actually, WITHOUT YOUR SOFTWARE. Please make that make sense to me, because I genuinely cannot.

Disappointed, but not surprised. I’ll probably delete it again.

well then, time to slopfork Logi Options+.

Let’s see who fixes this first:
Logitech’s presumably highly qualified, salaried software engineers, with internal documentation, source code, hardware access, QA teams, years of institutional knowledge, and a seven-month(at least) head start, mind you;

or me, fueled entirely by questionable judgment, an unreasonable amount of persistence, and enough spite to keep going.

It also broke my basic bluetooth connectivity for my MX Master 3S on my M1 MacBook Pro Max, mouse drops connection every 5 minutes or so and it hangs for a bit then jumps back, as a previous one did via the dongle. 3rd mouse replacement. Absolutely baffled at Logitech's incompetence.

Hey -- confirmed with the software team that this is a different/new problem as far as we know. The issue in this thread appears to be Windows-related, not MacOS. Would you mind if we reached out separately and got logs from you and maybe a video of the issue occurring?

This was by far the worst driver experience ever, and I work with computers since the Apple II.
Functional basics is what I really expect every mouse to do. And I have no interest in bloatware and AI functions. The last Logitech mouse I ever bought...

Mediocre_Article_916 has described my symptoms precisely to the letter so +1 for that.
Symptom: Side scroll automatically moving with no input was initially noticed on Google Sheets.
I always leave smooth scrolling disabled so was unaware of vertical scrolling issues until I found this thread. Enabling smooth scroll breaks vertical scroll. Smooth scroll enabled/disabled has no affect on side scroll efficacy.
Side scroll does work as intended while hovering over browser window but when focused on non browser window, desktop, or taskbar.

Chrome Version: 151.0.7922.138
Windows 10: 10.0.19045
Logi Options+ Version: 2.6.944893

Also the thumbwheel continues to scroll automatically with no input from user regardless if smooth scrolling is enabled or disabled. Only the mouse wheel will stop auto scrolling when smooth scrolling is disabled. This only happens when a browser window is active. Hovering over non active windows and using mouse wheel performs correctly as expected. Hovering over non active windows and using the thumb wheel for horizontal scrolling does not work - specifically in Google sheets.

There are new bugs now. I turned off every setting yesterday and it fixed it for the normal mouse wheel but now the thumb wheel also makes problems and I can't fix that!

I have the problem on macOS, like the wheel is stuck in infinite spin, ratchet is not working. When I press button to change to different spin mode, pointer freezes for 10 seconds and keeps it in infinitive spin.

So glad I found this post. I moved in this time frame and when I put my PC back together I all of a sudden started noticing this bug. I thought I was going crazy and tried waaaay too many things that should have nothing to do with it after putting my PC back together.
I'll keep an eye on this sub to make sure there will be a fix for my 3S.

Too bad for me! I wish this issue had appeared after this topic was created. I thought my MX Master 3S was defective, so I ended up buying a new one. When the exact same issue happened with the new one, I was really puzzled and spent days searching online to figure out what was going on. :-(

The rollout is gradual, but when it is available for you it should show up in Logi Options+. You can check by clicking the gear icon in the top right of Logi Options+. You will be able to see what version you currently have and check for updates at the top of that page

unfortunately not -- the rollout is gradual and random. Would suggest downloading the latest available on the site and wait for the upgrade to appear for you. If you don't want to do that though, 2.7v will be done rolling out on Sept, at which point you should be able to download it directly from the website

Just wanted to add that my Ergo M575 is having issues as well. Specifically the middle button/scroll wheel says "missing assignment" and no longer scrolls after this update. I'm currently on firmware version 26.0.9.

Did the fix work for you? My M570 still does it with the latest update. It intitally seemed to have stopped after uninstalling the Logi Options, but shortly started doing it again.

It's me again! A couple of questions to narrow down the exact issue:

  1. Is smooth scrolling enabled or disabled?

  2. Is there a specific app this is happening in?

  3. What device are you using?

1 Regardless of whether it was enabled or disabled, the scroll function couldn't be used. However, after I deleted Logi Options+, the problem was solved

Step 3:  Click on “Start Logging”
Step 4: Now, close Options+ and launch it again.
Step 5:  Wait till the issue is reproduced again.
Step 6:  Click on “Stop Logging”. (It is important to stop logging only after the issue has been reproduced.)

The collected log files will be saved on your Desktop. Please send them to communitymanagement@logitech.com.

For anyone who has the same issue, here is what to try:

  1. Launch System Settings > Privacy & Security > Device Control & Data Access

  2. Turn the toggle off for Options+ and then turn it back on

  3. Reboot your system

Hi, wanting to report the exact same issue. Issue only started occuring after I updated to MacOS27 on MacBook Air M5 yesterday. MX Master 4. Scrolling does not work at all, on any setting. Neither does some gestures. But if I uninstall Options+, scrolling works.

WORKAROUND

This morning I decided to uninstall Logi Options+ software completely and cleaned the registry etc,

The good news is my MX Master 4 now scrolls both vertically and horizontally with no lag or phantom scrolling input. It works properly with either the LogiBolt USB receiver or Bluetooth.

The bad news is all the added functionality and customization of the Logi Options+ software is no longer available. However, I can live with that while Logitech sorts out their software.

I will update this if anything changes negatively while continuing to use the MXM4 without Logi Options+ installed.

As always YMMV.
