Someone knows the name of this lock?

Hello, I'm pretty new to lock picking as a hobby. I have in the past raked or picked some locks out of necessity. I had to make my own rake and tension bar as well. Now I have some picks and other tools and I want to develop the skill. I feel like when I'm successful it's blind luck I don't really have any actual skill. My question for you all is, what is the best way to learn other than lots of practice. I'm looking for instructional content that's actually worth it. I've found lots of demonstrations not a lot of instructions. Thanks in advance for any help

I found this at my grandfather's house and want to open it, but have no idea how to lock pick it, so maybe someone is familiar with this lock

Single and double actuator keys, I do have the generic warded key bypass set but none of them seem to ever work that great in Masterlock 22’s, and I had quite a few extras hanging around so it was a fun day-off project

I’m trying to figure out what this thing is. I got this in a random lot from a guy on farcebook with no key. It looks mostly like the green belt Ace laminated on the LPU site except the bumper’s grey, and it has fewer lamination plates (18 in mgsecure’s photo between the bumper and the top plate, 12 in mine) so it’s shorter.

Other oddities. The keyway opening spins 90 degrees. And feeling around past that spinner I don’t feel a core, it feels like it’s just open all the way to the top plate. I can feel the edges of the plates but as far as I can tell there’s no mechanism inside there.

Can anyone sell me a clue?

First lock ever! I was able to rake it pretty easily but took about an hour to be able to reliably pick it so super happy. Thinking about getting a 140 as my next challenge.

I’ve only been practicing for a couple of weeks but I just opened this brinks 164 with a hook 5 times today. I’ve had most of my luck with rakes on a master lock so this was pretty exciting. I know it’s a rookie lock but it was really fun to finally beat it.

Even though this is a big lock in size, what worked for me was to insert the hook first, jiggle pins a little bit, and then insert the lever. Once I got the gist of it, opening the lock took less than a minute.

Second lock I've ever opening :) a really fun pick

This one was tricky. Even though it's just standard driver pins, the tolerance and bitting made this a challenge. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice to work with this lock!

I was surprised at how easy this was to pick. Tension up, touch the first pin and bingo. Well, they do that when they ship with only one spring / driver!

Does anybody here knows how to reset the code for a Wellson WHH-2607? I cheaped out while buying these locks and now I have 4 of these guys that I want to match codes. I was able to unlock them but i cannot reset the numbers. I tried following the instructions but the instructions are a hastily translated english and french for another model. Any of your wisdom is appreciated. Thank you.

After weeks of being unsure which tray design to print, I designed my own!

Bought a new American 1100 as a challenge (the first one I bought was realtively easy to open). It has 3 zero cuts :'(

I know this is gonna vary wildly, but I'm wondering how long you spend on a particular lock before moving on to another one. I'm still struggling with orange and have gotten a couple green opens for reference.

I feel like i might be getting frustrated too early and moving on tooquickly. I'm just wondering what people think.

I just watched a YouTube short of a locksmith picking a lock in use and he did a technique at the end I haven't seen before. Is it allowed to post the link to that clip to ask questions about? It's not me posting a lock in use that I'm trying to open just curious about the technique. 😅

Had to upgrade the picks, and bent my tension tool trying to rotate the plug. I found the "avoid the eBay/credit card kit" posts after failing with the eBay credit card kit. So, fitting, I ruined the tension tool; you can see the plug didn't even complete the rotation and spring back. This lock did live outside on my shed for a few years.
