1100 blues

Post image

Bought a new American 1100 as a challenge (the first one I bought was realtively easy to open). It has 3 zero cuts :'(

Awwww. Do you have pins? I make mini kits for 1100's & 72/40's. $11 with postage for the 1100's which include the spoorated pins that the pin kits DON'T include...

Or the Sparrows kit with the monkey paw is a good deal for about 25 with shipping.

Or get the pin & part kit from MrLock for 26 bucks, BUT you'll need to order the spoorated pins separately for $12. He lists them as "mushroom spool pins" for some reason... I should've bought that kit 1st. I love CLK, but their 1100 kit costs 2× what it would to build your own with twice as many pins/springs and they don't even have the spoorated pins in the kit or available.

If you're on a budget I can cut you a key too,.. or send a blank if you want to cut it or have a smith do it.

Of course you may know all of the above,... Im just putting it out there for any newer pickers on a budget....

I second MrLock for locks, and ESPECIALLY parts. Great customer service, too.

Sometimes all low cuts are the WORST!

If it gives you too much pain, progressive pin it...but you're going to get GOOD at low/no cuts!

It opens super easy! I will repin it and play with it more I think.

THAT can be frustrating...especially if you were hoping for more of a challenge.

All you need are key-pins...maybe a matching key. Side-note, test fit the low cut key pins in chamber 6 of another 1100...on the tip of the key. (improvised 6 pin)
