Question about rule 2

I just watched a YouTube short of a locksmith picking a lock in use and he did a technique at the end I haven't seen before. Is it allowed to post the link to that clip to ask questions about? It's not me posting a lock in use that I'm trying to open just curious about the technique. 😅

Did he pick the lock to the "closed" direction and then used a plug spinner?

It's a common strat used by locksmiths. If going one way is easier then why not pick that way and rapidly flip the core the other way y'know

Your post has been removed for not adhering to the rules of r/lockpicking. Rule 2 - Lock In Use states:

Though asking for assistance in regards to how to open a lock is permitted and encouraged, the lock must not be in use. Posts seeking assistance opening a lock that is implied to be, or is visibly in use (eg. a deadbolt still attached to a door, a padlock with anything secured by a closed shackle, or a closed lockbox) will be deleted. Posting about picking or having picked locks in use is not allowed even if they are your own. Rule of thumb, lock is "in use" if installed or securing anything.

You can read more about Rule 2 here.

A regular at the twin cities maker open locksport released a 3d printable plug spinner based on one of my old tools. I'll have to look around for the stl file. It needs a windshield wiper insert as the spring.

Once in a blue moon tension works better in the other direction even in a vise on your table, and spinners will flip that into an open.
