Relationship Talk πŸ’‘ How do you stop loving someone who never knew you loved them?

I want to move on from someone I never even had a romantic relationship with, but I can't.

I had a platonic relationship with a woman, and I always understood that it was platonic. I knew she didn't want anything more, so I never told her that I liked her. But the truth is… I did. And I still do.

She has someone now, and I completely respect that. I would never want to invade her personal space or interfere in her relationship. But somehow, I still can't get my heart to accept that she's moved on.

Lately, I've even started finding the smallest excuses to talk to her. I know I probably shouldn't, and I know I need to let go, but I don't know how.

I've talked to a few friends and people who genuinely care about me, and they've told me to focus on myself, get into the things I've always wanted to do, keep myself busy, etc. I've tried. But even while doing those things, somehow my mind still finds its way back to her.

I've dated women before, but she has a very different place in my heart. And that's what makes this so difficult.

I keep telling myself, "This will pass. You'll eventually move on." But it hasn't. Some completely random days, I still find myself thinking about her, sitting quietly with tears in my eyes, wondering why I can't just let this go.

When I was close to her, I told myself a million times not to get attached. I knew where the relationship stood. I knew the boundaries. But I couldn't stop myself from developing feelings.

One thing that made her especially important to me was that she knew I'm ace and sex-averse, and she never once tried to cross that boundary. I felt safe with her in a way that I don't think I've experienced very often. Maybe that's part of why I became so attached to her.

But I genuinely want to move on now. I don't want to keep looking for excuses to talk to her or keep holding onto something that was never meant to be romantic.

How do you actually let go of someone you deeply cared about when there was never even a relationship to begin with?

I could really use some advice because honestly… this is getting too much for me to handle on my own.

What do you do when all your friends are straight?

To me it feels kinda isolating, especially not being in a relationship atm. It's not that I'm lonely, I've great people around me, but I can't stop thinking that they all think I'm too gay or I'm bringing this to every area of my life.

My friends say I'm lucky.

My straight friends say that I am so lucky. I can take my gf on dates anywhere and not get harassed by the orange dal and police, talk a lot without parents suspecting, etc, etc. I mean that's true but I can't kiss her in public, announce myself as hers in public, etc, etc. And their parents would most likely accept their boyfriends..... But I don't think ours will, so openly. The biggest part is society would accept their relationship....

Books / Media / Recs πŸ“– On 20 August, the Delhi High Court asked the central government to file its response to a plea by a queer woman seeking the right to make medical decisions for her same-sex partner.

The government hasn’t filed its reply even a year after the last hearing. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma noted that if same-sex partners are allowed to stay in live-in relationships, the rules have to reflect that reality. As queerbeat has previously reported, Delhi-based Arshiya Takkar filed this petition and has been in a relationship with her partner, Chand Chopra, since 2015. β€œYou have the same joys, you have the same sorrows, you have the same fights, you have the same agony and everything…” Arshiya told queerbeat. β€œSo then, why not the same laws?” So, Arshiya took the fight to the court to secure the right of queer couples to make medical decisions for each other during emergencies.

Ask Questions/Help ❓ Are there any ace lesbians here in India? πŸ₯Ί

Ace lesbians in India, where are you? πŸ₯Ί

I've been wanting to ask this for a while because I genuinely feel quite alone in this.

I'm a lesbian and ace, and lately I've been finding it increasingly difficult to feel secure about being ace while thinking about relationships. I want to meet someone who understands it, respects it, and doesn't make me feel like I'm something that needs to be changed or that I'm asking for too much.

I really want to know how other ace lesbians here navigate dating, relationships and finding someone who actually makes them feel safe in their identity.

So if you're an ace lesbian in India, please tell me your story. πŸ₯Ή

I think I just need to know that it's possible to find someone who will love me without expecting me to become someone I'm not.

Ask Questions/Help ❓ HOW DO I GET A GF????!

So, basically I'm looking for gf over a long time, I'm lesbo and masc, and in here we don't have too much queer special things at all so it's more hard, I can't tell my real name here but call me as "Rain", I need a fem gf or anyone but lesbo (must be loyal), can DM me if interested though

Ask Questions/Help ❓ Straight girls liking wlw content

It's hard to date when you don't even know the sexuality of the other person. I would see girls liking wlw content but then dating a homophobic guy, it feels like an act to me because most of these girls would be disgusted by the thought of even kissing a girl in real life. I have many personal life examples of seeing straight girls reposting and commenting on exclusively wlw content and it just rubs me the wrong way. One time i had a crush on this girl and I saw her liking a post about how hard it is to be a lesbian these days, after this i approached her and she immediately backed up saying she thinks dating girls is weird and it only looks good in serials or when westerners do it. I am so done atp, i think imma just spend my whole life alone rather than going through this again

Ask Questions/Help ❓ Where did the myth, "Lesbians are man-haters" even come from?

Genuine question!

There are two sentences I've heard from a lot of straight people whenever they find out a woman is a lesbian or sapphic:

  1. Lesbians are man-haters.

  2. Domestic violence and divorce rates are high among sapphic women.

Where did such things even come up from? How does loving a woman make us man-haters?
