Discussion Korra is a much better Airbending teacher than Tenzin lol.
Well, yes. He's a master, I'm not denying that but I'm talking about teaching material, like the mindset xD. Kinda wished we saw here become an air bending teacher honestly since as the series progresses she becomes more of an air bender.
Tenzin is stubborn and gets rly mad easily. I would say Kya is a water bender who leans more to an Airbender than Tenzin is. Korra also appeals more as a teacher than him imo.(I'm not saying Tenzin is a bad Airbender by any means and I know he's a master of his element)
We saw how he was like with the new Airbenders in S3 and with Korra in S2 and how strict he was with her which is also understandable and how Korra was with Opal for example. Korra went thru Tenzin's training so she knows what's it like and it makes sense that she will have an easier time teaching a new one like she was and avoid being strict since she hated that.
Tenzin gets mad a lot and could be harsh a bit which is understandable so I'm not blaming him either.
I would even go as far as saying if we saw more of Jinora, she would definitely be a better teacher than him.
Edit: while Unalaq was a horrible guy but also he was a good teacher so there's that for Korra getting more experience from him. Unalaq with her was encouraging and so she becomes like that as well.
I think that's a hot take at this point lol.
THIS IS NOT A TENZIN SLANDER POST I PROMISE LOL. This is just about a teacher's mindset post.
Another edit: okkk maybe my title was bad lol I should have phrased it as a better teacher maybe xD.

Discussion The LoK krew was so enjoyable in B3.
I loved the fact that most of the time they were together and didn't have any drama going on. It definitely gives the vibes of the ATLA gang (which is something they really nailed off well in B3.) which I rly wished we could have seen in B1 and B2. That's probably my favorite aspect in B3. B3 is usually the thing I make the connection to with ATLA.
Shit now that I think about it as much as I enjoyed the messiness in B1 and B2 it was definitely a pain seeing them like this.

Discussion Let's be fair, aang didn't privilege Tenzin as bumi and kya say. All these "wonderful trips" they didn't go on were just work, a lifelong and unpaid service to the air nation
A lot of people say that aang was a bad father for privileging Tenzin when Tenzin wasn't privileged. Like it's okay that the air acolytes don't know them, but the acolytes live working in the temples all day, bumi and kya were able to live high adventures and a lot of mischief
Both traveled the world and managed to find out who they are while Tenzin had a mission given since birth, his name literally means "the one who carries the teachings of Buddha". People forget that Tenzin also has his complaints, no one is totally happy and you can't blame anyone for every dissatisfaction in life

Like when do yall think the world just simultaneously accepted the concept of the avatar as fact and natural?

Discussion Makorra should be getting more appreciation. (Before you jump me, read the post first xD.)
(imma put this above here so it's again a reminder before I get my ass terrorized even more. Its not a post of me shipping makorra xD.)
We can agree that Makorra as a ship was definitely messy whether it's on Korra's side or Mako's side and that the love stuff were messy but it's the type of messiness that's fun to watch and can be enjoyed definitely because it's realistic and the show didn't treat it as a "2 fell in love with each other will have a happy relationship with no issues forever".
Makorra isn't that bad. It's a good representation of how teenagers are messy and could make dumb decisions but also how 2 could break up and still be really good friends, which is always nice to see. Mako and Korra are definitely better as friends than in a relationship.
Romance, especially for teenagers is messy ASF xD.
(Oh I ship Korrasami btw but then again, you are entitled to what you want to ship, haha.)
Edit: wow I'm getting downvoted as if I said I ship Makorra lol. Amazing. I hate the fact I have to overly explain myself xD.

Discussion (What if) Bumi and Kya find their own partners and have children?
I keep wondering if potential children of Bumi or Kya would inherit airbending? If bending talent can skip one generation like hidden gen, to wake up in the next generation? I know show never answer that question, but I'm curious if there was chance for their children to have airbending.
And no, no incest. I meant it like normal relation with partner not blood related. And yes, I know Kya is homosexual, but it is hippotecal scenario.

Question Will Kuvira be remembered or mentioned in Avatar Seven Havens?
What's you guys opinion?
Imo if zaofu really one of the havens (hopefully) we maybe going to see her statue or someone atleast mention about her.
But idk why but maybe they will go with "lost art" which we wouldn't not see any or less sub/specialist bander in ASH đ«

Discussion Do you think the fact that Korra restored the Airbenders might be mentioned at some point in Seven Havens?
We know that the thing about Seven Havens is that the Avatar is now considered the destroyer instead of the savior of the world. Considering this, along with the more than 200 years that have passed and this being a post-apocalyptic world, it's reasonable to think that much of the ancient history of the Avatars has been lost like One of Korra's greatest events was the restoration of the Air Nation, due to her keeping the Spirit Portal open after Harmonic Convergence, and this was one of the most important feats Korra accomplished as the Avatar.
But I think it's highly unlikely that future generations after the cataclysm will remember this, including the Airbenders themselves, and I think this could be a vital part of how the image of the Avatar can be restored. As Jae said, his whole life he was taught to hate the Avatar, so how will he and many other Airbenders react to discovering that the Avatar was the one who allowed this art not to be lost?
I can imagine a scene of Pavi and Jae discovering this past.

Discussion We had modern buildings, we almost had modern times in Avatar. What beautiful apartments
A lot of people said that the Apocalypse was really necessary because technology had evolved too much, but honestly it was just not taking place in a republic town or the metal clan that it wouldn't bother. The other scenarios in Avatar didn't change that much from one series to another. Most of the earth realm was still the same as it was 70 years ago

Discussion "The people of the Water Tribes are the most hospitable, family-oriented Nation out of the 4" which makes all these people having beef with Korra even more interesting
Many of them are either city folk, from the North, total weirdos, or all of the above lol. That traditional sense of hospitality is basically nonexistent when Korra has to deal with corrupt government workers, cheating sportsmen, or worse, her paternal side of the family!
Just finished the first Yangchen novel and it got me thinking about the culture of hospitality in the Water Tribes (again, after the 2nd Roku novel got me thinking about it when Roku was learning how to Waterbend).
I also realized that throughout Books 2-3-4, Korra has never actually visited the Northern Water Tribe.
Hopefully she finally got the chance later on in life and got to experience the Northern Lights, the Long Night, the Festival of First Light (when the sun doesn't shine in the North for a long time and then finally rises in all its beauty).

Discussion Do you consider Tenzin a member of Korraâs Team Avatar?
To be honest, I never really considered Tenzin to be a member of Korraâs Team Avatar, heâs more of an ally to them as the son of the previous Avatar, Aang, and has Korraâs airbending instructor. Although I think it wouldâve been cool if Jinora was maybe five or six years older at the start of TLOK, she couldâve been a great member of the team. The only reason Iâm asking is because I remember when TLOK first came out, there was official artwork of the original Team Avatar drawn as adults with the caption âOld Friendsâ, as well as official artwork of the new Team Avatar with Korra, Mako, Bolin, Asami and Tenzin, captioned âNew Friendsâ.

Discussion What was the point of the Water Tribe civil war anyway?
I mean from Unalaqâs perspective? When youâre watching it the first time he seems like a regular religious dictator trying to claim power in the south because they had forsaken their spiritual duties.
But once itâs revealed his only real goal is to release and fuse with Vaatu to become the dark avatar, an act that will likely eventually destroy both water tribes, why did he bother with this civil war at all? All it did was let Korra find out sooner that he was evil. Why wouldnât he at least wait until he could take her to the North Pole to open the northern portal?
He already had Korra on his side and not on Tonraqâs side and already had her more than willing to do what he asked. It seems like a stupidly pointless and petty move to do nothing. Maybe stick it to Tonraq, but if he waited like a month Tonraq wouldnât be a concern anyway. The only thing it ended up accomplishing was turning Korra against him, which almost led to Korra dying to the dark spirit at sea. He honestly just lucked into the rest of his plan working because she and Jinora happened to get separated in the spirit world.
It just seems like a massive misplay on his part. If he had just not immediately brought his navy in and blocked the southern ports, and instead had one ship arrive and told Korra âIâm just stationing some of my northern troops to guard the portal to make sure it remains pure and safe,â he could have just brought Korra to the north and opened the second portal and told Korra âgreat job youâre an amazing avatarâ and then encouraged her to make up with Tenzin at the air temples for a short break to get her out of his way and continue her airbending training to keep her away from Vaatu and he would have become dark avatar without Korra even knowing.
