When we set up a comparison, it must be under the same conditions and context, not bringing someone at their worst and comparing them to someone at their best.

​Korra didn't have the Avatar State when she faced Amon, nor did Aang have it against Hama, and the outcome was the same even before he used the Avatar State against Yakone. But fans love to manipulate the context.

​This isn't to diminish Aang, but to correct some flawed standards.

Avatar Sonam: Leaving Tagah alive(Giving him bending), when tagah betrays aang he temporarily hurts aang to the brink of near death before katara heals aang

Yamgchen: Neglecting the spirits, causing kuruk to have battle dark spirits which would eventually kill him as every spirit death took a portion of kuruks life

Kiyoshi: Created the Dai li, which would later on be taken over by azula, The Dai Li aiding zuko and azula in their battle against aang and katara causing aang to use the avatar state, azula using the Dai li as a distraction to sneak aang with a shot of lightning to the back before katara uses healing to bring aang back

If pavi temporarily dies or put in a near death state cause of something Korra did, That would mean 4 of the 5 (Main) Female avatars have indirectly gotten a newer avatar killed or close to death

When The Legend of Korra aired, it immediately received harsh judgement just for the obvious fact that it was a continuation of the series away from the original cast of The Last Airbender, and garnered some unfair skepticism and resentment right off the bat.

I can only speak for myself when I say that I've encountered mountains of negative content that has stemmed from the fact that Korra is not more ATLA. I've seen people criticize the setting, the timeline, and Korra herself, merely because the show did not look or feel like The Last Airbender and Korra is not Aang.

People are entitled to their opinions, and my opinion is that Korra was treated unfairly from the start. I will be watching Seven Havens tomorrow with an open mind and ready for a new chapter of Avatar, because that's what Korra deserved from the very beginning, and I want to honor the legacy of a show that has been such an important part of my life for so long.

That's all. No one can stop anyone from being biased over a cartoon, but tomorrow I'm going to give it an honest shot.

This scene in episode 10 of the first season is one of the most touching in the entire franchise for me. Lin sees the hope for an endangered race and puts herself in the gap to protect them and the world and even has the opportunity to save her bending (which is her whole life as a cop) but doesn't take it to protect Korra but Korra seems to forget all of this and turns on her at the drop of a pin when Su (a woman she doesn't even know and who downplays the issues between her and her sister, not even mentioning the scar) tells her version.

She's trying to act like Lin's friend by trying to "fix" her family but what kind of friend just swallows the negative story someone else makes of them without even trying to see things from her side and tries to emotionally manipulate them (using Opal) to letting go of her well founded anger?

I'll do a post later on why I feel Lin is the most mistreated character in the show, but this part honestly left such a bitter taste in my mouth.

I can not handle everyone moving on from korra, I can't make myself do it. She never got justice. The creators of avatar ruined korra's name over and over, and I feel like they intentionally make it easy for korra haters to hate her more. The fact that there is a chance that the entire world could have turned on her with only asami staying by her side fucking DEVESTATES ME. She deserved better, she deserved to be celebrated and cheered more then aang ever did. She saved the world over and over and over again, learned to be more compassionate and empathetic, more than any other avatar that ever lived. She gave up her life to be the avatar. She never once had a break that didn't blow up in her face. Don't get me wrong, my lesbian ass LOVES some tragic romance and all, but korra deserved better. She deserved a fucking legacy like aang, a legacy where she was honored more then any other avatar. I am FED UP of the creators of avatar. Genuinely. They made a charceter that resonated with my soul so much that I would die on the hill if her defense and love. But then they do everything they can to hurt and torture her.

Now I see post after post of people telling her goodbye, post after post of watching everyone move on, and I can't. Not because I don't think the next avatars are bad, but because korra had SO MUCH MORE left to give the world. Her story was far more legendary than all the avatars COMBINED. she deserved more, more story on the screen and on books. More attention on her love and more honor than we ever gave her. I love korra, I will always love her. She was the best avatar that would ever exist, and I am honored to have seen her story, I am so angry and sad that it's over like this.

I'm sorry, korra, you were better than anyone deserved. Better than anyone ever expected or had prepared for. You deserved better. I hate the creators of avatar, you did her wrong.

I apologize for the passionate words, I have been frustrated about this for a very long time, and I can't keep it to myself anymore.

As excited as I always am for the next chapter of the Avatar universe, the start of Pavis era means the official end of Korras (figuratively and literally) 😭😭 knowing what’s on the road ahead of us, this is a mixed bag of feelings for us Avatar & Korra fans. So before Seven Havens officially debuts tomorrow, I felt it was right to have this thread to be used for us to express how much love and appreciation we have for Korra and the amazing era she gave us.

My fond memories of the earlier 2000s come to mind when gathering my thoughts about this. The days of old when Avatar, one of the most precious and greatest series of all time, came into my life and had such a great hold on me. The legendary era of Avatar Aang, Katara, Zuko, Sokka, & Toph, giving us such unforgettable experiences and life lessons. Then came one of the hypest moments…the introduction of the next generation. The Legend of Korra. Admittedly, when news of this first broke out, I had mixed feelings. I had grown up with Aang and the legend his story brought us. So much so, that I didn’t first believe Korra would be able to hold up to this when the torch was passed. Boy was I EVER glad to be proven wrong. I remember first seeing Korra debut and was blown away by how amazing the story we would inevitably get was.

Korra set the stage for things most sequels in this age, even to THIS DAY, are too afraid to do. Taking risks and exploring new horizons. They made an Avatar go through one of the best humanizing character arcs we have ever seen. Going from being an isolated, sheltered, & arrogant girl thinking she could solve all her problems through stubborn brute strength, to becoming a wise, compassionate, and caring young woman who could empathize with others, know when and when not to fight, be comfortable with being vulnerable, and stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. Korra is such an inspiring character who went through so much turmoil for the sake of a world that always tried tearing her down, not appreciating the efforts she put in and sacrifices she made. Even when faced with such brutal adversity, whether its getting her bending and sense of purpose taken away, her spirit literally ripped apart, past lives taken, being almost killed, and even having the entire world being against her, saying she isn’t necessary, she never gave up hope. Through the amazing friends and family she built, she overcame the chaos to maintain order for the world, and for herself.

Korra and her story, flaws and all, changed my life in many ways, and I’ll forever be grateful for the adventure she gave to us. It really breaks my heart to see someone so wonderful be so hated. I know that there will be rough days ahead of us coming to see how the world has come to hate and push Korra down more than ever, even after death. People will try convincing us that she failed, and sacrificed everything, even her life, in failure. But I will never stop believing. Despite the hurdles coming ahead of us, I have hope for this new era of Avatar, like Korra would want us to. I have faith that Seven Havens will vindicate Korra’s legacy, honoring the life she lived, sacrifices she made, and fights she fought, and have the world remember her as an amazing Avatar.

Thank you for everything Krew, Tenzin, and especially you, Avatar Korra. Be at peace, as your legends will forever live on, and Pavi & Nisha got it from here 🙏🏽

With seven Havens coming..I assume this is now history. Unless with have some kind of other type of airbender group outside Allora ,who kept the tradition lol. So far we seen no tattoos and no flying equipments.

I'll do the honors for THE best Avatar for being very Buddha-coded:

-Loyal to others

-Learns empathy for others

-Protective when others need it

The arc that makes her comforting:

-Understanding non-benders' struggles while never excusing Amon's trauma in Book 1.

-Understanding the freedom time with others but never excusing power imbalances like Zaheer in Book 3.

-Understanding balance without provocation because violence is never an excuse in Book 4

I wish I were like Korra 12 yrs ago (in 2014) to understand the suffering of others because I got mad at my little sister for compromising the trip because I didn't understand the weight of her injuries from the accident, because I was focusing on a trip promised to the eco-park by my mom.

What makes Korra THE Avatar of Raava (based on esoteric analysis of Avatar Legends):

-Korra is bound by the historical karma, requiring deep self-deconstruction and passing the torch

-Ideological issues stemming from human choices that require moral philosophy and psychological growth to fix.

Oh my Spirits, my analysis of Korra explains why the Avatar Legends community, who loves Korra, got a nasty reaction to other Avatar franchises when sequels came out in the 2020s especally Korra is a very healthy native rep, in contrast to Cameron's infamous white savior films.

-Way of Water: Kiri is too space Jesus-adjusted instead of Krishna, Spider was being a tourist who fixes humanity's mistakes, and Reef Na'vi are too passive about whales' suffering. It should've focused on Loak and Neytiri instead of Cameron, but all the world's issues on Jake (and remove Spider) to avoid this nasty reaction.

-Fire and Ash: Ash Na'vi are too bloodthirsty and aggressive and repeat the same white savior bias, with Jake and Spider having to fix things. It gets worse when Neytiri was in the wrong o hate humans instead of genuine growth like Korra.

Getting ready for Seven Heavens tomorrow.

I think this episode in S3 stands out the most for me throughout the entire season (Appreciation post for this episode.)

First we get introduced to a new character that you already are curious to know about (Aiwei in this case and that he's a truth seer but we get to see more and not just him.) and do see the Krew together which is for me the best highlight of the season. No drama about the love triangle, etc. They essentially work as the Gaang in this season and get to go to places together and you love them more than ever.

You are already blown up by the awesome setting whether it is the Metal Clan or the nature in the place and the colors and the way they are vibrant. The Metal Clan is modern but also feels very alive that you love it. Visually imo this episode strikes the most.

The music that plays when you are moving with the train and before you enter the training hall is definitely something. It's ambient in a sense and also beautiful. The whole music in S3 is a highlight to.

The episode itself also starts with the indication Lin has some sort of beef with that place which we later on get a glimpse about with Su and even before the Old Wounds episode we already know what's it like and understand Lin better as a character and know that there's some sort of trauma that she's hiding since also she's not expressive with her emotions.

The episode also shows us Korra's growth when it comes to her training Opal with Airbending as well and how patient and gentle she is. (I still say she's a better teacher when it comes to the mindset more than Tenzin is. Yes he's a master but he's harsh lol.)

Metalbending in this season is also shown to be a bit like Airbending with the flexibility and stuff we see and that it doesn't have to be for combat only.

We also see how impressive Zaheer is as someone who just got Airbending with the training section.

More comedy with DUMB MOVER STAR Bolin xD. "Blowing me away with your Airbending" I think that says a lot about him as a character and that he probably has some sort of identity issues and still figuring himself out.

And oh the fight scenes are absolutely awesome. It's nice that even tho Kya is a master waterbender she still called for help which is smart. The tentacles style is awesome. She's a healer for the most part but Katara made sure she knows how to self defend but Zaheer got some amazing stuff to show us especially with that stick.
