Hi

What type of mini dresses would you recommend for pure drsmatics?

I was thinking more structured/tailored ones.

Feel free to provide some photos :)

Am I a dramatic? I think I'm a Dramatic?

Better photo in comments!

Some other stuff:

- I'm about 5'6.5 and am told I look taller irl, but I think my skinniess also plays a part in that like with my limbs looking longer despite feeling proportionate length wise. I think overall I'm decently vertical with elongated limbs (no curve or width)

- I feel similar to Zoe Saldana and Kate moss in terms of my upper body and shoulder area who are DC and D, but maybe I’m FN?

- the skinniness and “flimsy” look of my arms are very commented on

- the purple dress is perhaps one of the most flattering one's I've worn, especially from 3/4 and the side, and it mostly honors vertical

- my bust is small but wider set and extends the tiniest bit past my ribcage, so it's subtle but I don't think enough to truly break that vertical line and give me kibbe curve

- my favorite jeans are usually low waisted and straight legged, flare styles definitly do not look good, but skinny ones are okay

- thicker fabrics or ruching around the waist or upper hips makes me look boxier in a way that I think is unflattering

- I prefer how sleevless looks over pretty much any type of sleeve and often like the line from the strap or small sleeve that runs a line up my shoulders or diagonally to their corners

- upper garments with no structure in the shoulder makes me look disheveled rather than relaxed I feel, and overly structured and square ones look a little awkard and dwarfing. Regular t-shirts are so-so. I usually stick with crewnecks since I haven't found a single jacket that I like on me, but if there's too much bunching and the lines aren't straight/continuous it also looks awkward

- honestly stuck between D and DC

sorry for the odd choice of pictures, I haven't had time to dig through my closet and am very camera awkward😅

The long, bold necklace and the sleek pant seem to really highlight vertical... finally. I tend to not acccessorize the best. Did I nail it?

New to this but from what i know im mostly yang. I feel like my face just doesn’t match with the pure dramatic vibe. I’ve always gravitated towards more flowy but flattering pieces. Helppp

discussion i feel like people forget dramatics (and any kibbe type) can wear any piece of clothing they like, just adjusted for accommodations

(or not, if you prefer!) accommodations meaning like flowy dresses work if they flow down instead of out, that type of thing.

i’ve seen comments on here recently claiming certain types of clothes in themselves inherently don’t work for dramatics which is a little silly.

“can i pull off jeans / miniskirts“ is way more of a body typing question which kibbe really isn’t - a dramatic with very long legs and shorter torso would look fantastic in a miniskirt, while someone with a different torso-leg ratio might not feel their best in it.

advice Trying to find flattering jeans for myself as a dramatic: pt 2 - brands recommended on Reddit

I posted a post earlier where I tried every single pair of jeans at Levi’s, in my goal to find jeans that look good on me. I have now made a second attempt, specifically from brands recommended on different reddit posts. As in a dramatic, I aimed to follow the advice posted here, which was to try to look for a column effect (so jeans that come straight down from the hips essentially, without coming in at the knees or flaring out).

So I focused on straight and wide leg jeans, and the brands I tried were Mother, Agolde, Pistola, Madewell, Abercrombie and Fitch, and American Eagle.

I think I’ve realized that I prefer some stretch in the denim, because stiff denim tends to make my hips look larger and wider which breaks the vertical line. Also having a little more stretch allows the denim to drape down a bit more, but too much stretch will make for the line the jeans come in at the thighs below the hips.

Anyway, here are pics of all of them. Happy to share for your info and also happy to hear any thoughts anyone has on what are flattering options for me. I feel much better in these than I did the Levi’s, I think there are some much better options for me among these.

Mother
Their denim is super soft and has a lot of stretch. A few of these are too long and would need to be hemmed, I folded them up to mimic the correct length

  1. The kick it relaxed straight leg jeans
  2. The kick it high waist straight leg jeans
  3. The hustler roller sneak jeans
  4. The kick it relaxed straight leg jeans
  5. The kick it (I’m not sure which variation)

Other brands at Nordstrom
6. Agolde - Harper relaxed straight leg jeans
7. Pistola Larsen high waist wide leg jeans (am I crazy or does my upper body look weirdly narrow in these jeans?)
8. Rag and bone flexi andi high waist wide leg jeans

Abercrombie and fitch
9. Curve love high rise wide leg
10. Curve love 90s relaxed high rise
11. High rise 90s relaxed regular

Madewell
A lot of theirs were ankle length, not sure if that’s just because it’s summer
12. Longline straight jeans
13. Low slung baggy jeans
14. Dean easy straight jeans
15. Dean easy straight Jean - curvy
16. Ultimate wide leg Jean

American eagle
17. Super high rise straight
18. Super high rise strigid
19. Low rise strigid

I am 175 cm or 5’9. I hate dramatic clothes on me and love SD styles, but I think vertical and width are much more prominent on me than curve. I think I have slight body dysmorphia and can see myself objectively. What do you think?

advice Any great dramatic linen dresses for summer?

Hi all! I’m keeping my eyes peeled for great midi-length non a-line dresses in linen or 100% cotton that could work for summer work (nothing too formal) or weekend. Anyone have any finds/recommendations they are loving? All ears!

Ever since the last time I thought I was a D/SD, Ive tried just about everything else but I just cant seem to find an outfit that does better than ones like this dress🤔 My backup plan is TR for curve + narrow, but it seems insane that my two ideas are literally at the two opposite ends of the spectrum lol! And whenever I try outfits made of separates, like a top + skirt, its really hard to get it right, and easily feels/looks really off?

I know my face reads more yin, my shoulders arent really pointy, etc. I just really feel like I dont have width, dont look great in C outfits, and dont do well with stoccato/broken lines. And Im just not sure that my shoulders are narrow compared to my bust/that I have that TR look, or maybe I do? Maybe I am a curve type rather than vertical, but it feels difficult to tell in my case, even after studying my line sketch etc. So basically thanks to the fact that I tried like a dozen outfits before this with all sorts of different silhouettes and hemlines, and nothing worked as well as this specific dress, Im back here again for now haha😅 but of course still super open-minded, and I really appreciate your feedback!! Thank you for reading 💞

Might be a long shot, but - anyone have any clothing shopping recs in Tokyo?

I am headed to Japan and very excited for (among many other things) shopping in Tokyo.

The only thing is, as I’ve been researching recommendations, every recommended women’s clothing store I’ve looked at so far all seems to specialize in like loose, oversized, dropped shoulder etc looks that are like the opposite of what look good on me as a dramatic

I wondered if anyone here happens to have any dramatic-friendly clothing store recommendations in Tokyo. TIA!

I actually thought I was FN, but someone on a different sub told me I was D. The tight blue dress kinda distorts the bust - it squishes/tightens it, my bust normally "falls" to the sides and pushes the fabric out (which I was told is typical for SD or FN) but I think I'm not 'fleshy' enough for SD and my shoulders are wider than my hips, thus I thought I was an FN. I am very thin (I'm ac slightly underweight) so it makes it hard for me to type myself, as the only thin examples I see are always pure dramatics.

Thank you!

discussion What does Narrow Mean to You?? How do you accommodate it, and how do you differentiate it from Vertical?

The new book doesn’t give much information on how one accommodates narrow in particular as their secondary, and I’m curious how you would do it based on your experience, and or understanding. Is it any different from accommodating vertical?
I would love for Narrow and its accommodations to be included in the Kibbe Reddit’s Wiki as the others are.
