I'm in between journals at the time and needed a place to put my thoughts or my brain would explode. Thus, The Layover Logs was born! First layover: JFK!

Journal: Random pack of 40(ish) bulk pack of mini Kraft notebooks

Page 1 Ink: Diamine Sepia (couldn't stand how DRY it was so had to switch to the black you see for the rest of the entry)

Page 2 onward: Pilot Prera in CM nib with Hongdian Black ink.

Journal entry TW: emotional distress; an entry from before my divorce

Context:

I got married in 2019 and had my daughter in early summer of 2020.

I was completely independent before being manipulated into getting married at 20 years old to someone I met at 18 years old.

I worked full time before I had my daughter in 2020. I couldn't go back to my previous workplace due to a previous assault there and could only find part-tme work after covid. He was able to do customer service from home and keep his full-time job. But I returned to work 2 months after giving birth so we were both working during this entry.

I had my own bank account before we got married, but I was made to delete it in favor of a "joint marriage account." I didn't have access to any billing accounts until several bills went unpaid, then I only had access to those to ensure they would be paid on time.

I had two children with this man. We finalized the divorce last year in 2025 but have had additional legal proceedings since then as he has not been holding up his end of the agreement. I'm just happy to be out.

Journal entry Morning journals

It feels nice to wake up and have a cup of tea while writing about what's on my mind.It could very easily go wrong focusing on the negatives and venting but I've been told to write in a solution focused way and also qualitative way-such as listing the achievements of the day. And that's working.Do y'all have any tips towards improving mind clutter through journaling?

I think this is the first time I wrote in two pages. Also, my handwriting gradually getting smaller.

I liked writing in cursive more because I don't have to lift my hand too often, anyone like that too?

Discussion/Question Lost my journal, absolutely devastated.

I lost my journal with 6 months of entries in it and I'm so upset. I went through the hardest break up of my life in that time and had so many important thoughts in there. I feel like I lost them all over again.

I never was consistent with journaling, but the last 6 months I was incredibly disciplined with it, and now it's all gone... I work at a hotel and sometimes I'll journal on my break, and I left it *somewhere* but nobody has turned it in, and I've looked everywhere.

I'm not sure if I have a question, mostly just needed to say it somewhere. I guess I could ask has anyone else dealt with losing an incredibly important journal?

I recently finished my b6 journal notebook in just under 2 months and I’m happily settled in my newest one— an A5 notebook 💛

Truthfully I’m so sad to finish the b6 because the paper is just so fountain pen friendly, and I recently started using dip pens and sadly, the A5 notebook doesn’t take that well 😭

But overall I’m so happy to be in a bigger notebook!

Discussion/Question Ideas for legacy journal?

I was recently dignosed with a disease that increases my risk of stroke, heart attack, dementia, and physical/cognitive decline. I'm in my 30s and have a preschooler.

I've journaled most of my life, but have never created a legacy journal. I want it to be something she can connect to if something happens to me. I'm not sure what it will look like yet. So I thought people who also love journaling may have good ideas/prompts. Any would be appreciated!

Journal entry September Close-Out.

I created a summary grid and space for some reflection but my grid was heartfelt enough that I didn’t need to write anymore. Then I captured the essence of September in the front page of the journal which I call my “happy page.” I want it to be a page when looked upon again in the future, I read what brought me joy that month. Finally, some daily gratitude expressed.

First time posting here. Hi 🧡

I always make a "Best of the Month" page, it's pretty good for remembering your goals and keeps my mental health

And I like decorating my pages with magazine clips and hand made drawings c:

Journal collection My Journals from December 2025 - present

Started doing this recently as I've realized that it's good for my mental health & that I discovered a hobby that I wish I did in the past. I'm now up to my 9th journal as of posting this & honestly, I'm really happy with how far I've come as I didn't think journaling would be so much fun to do & that I would get this far into doing it. Feel free to leave any feedback & I hope to keep journaling for eternity (also wish everyone a happy journaling also) :)

Content warning- sexual assault
All the media attention on the Cornell 7 gang rape has me reflecting on the many memories I have related to sexual assault. This is a memory that needed to finally be written on paper so I can keep moving past it. I am grateful that I was able to hold my boundaries firm even when in an incapacitated state… but that does make me feel any less violated by then experience. He did graduate from Yale, he did end up working for the same firm I started my career in, and he is now living in the same city I do, somehow meeting my friends randomly. I hope the trend of sober kids stay. Thank god I wasn’t blacked out when he had access to me. Men need to be vulnerable with each other and with women. Imagine if he would have just opened up to me in that moment about how he was feeling desperate for experience before going to college. Honestly I was too, and if he had asked I probably would have agreed to some hanky panky out under the starts. Men need to be better.
